Hi All ~ dd didn't sleep last night and is coughing all day with a fever. ds has been vomitting all day. YIKES! S :sad1: pixiedust:  :tink:

I am so sorry to hear about the sick kids. DD got sick at Disney in January and ended up in the hospital with the stomach virus thing. It totally ruined our vacation because I got sick three days after her. I hope that it isn't the bad virus going around Ottawa. It seems that you are sick for about three days and the doctors are saying to stay home for 48 hours after. Hoping and praying for you.

Well you still have two days to go. Perhaps they will recover in time. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks...ds is looking better since I gave him Gravol. He is playing and eating a little. dd is still on the sofa resting. Her temp is 101ºF, low grade, but enough to tire her out. She asked to let the fever do it's job and it currently off meds. We are flying Tuesday night and don't plan on doing parks until Thursday, so they have several days to rest. I thought if illness struck it would be from the airplance. S

Remember to add gravol, tylenol etc. to your packing list. If the kids have it now . . . you know who'll get it next. My eldest was sick for 2 days last week (sounds like same virus) and my hubbie had it a few days later. My youngest and myself never came down with it.
Get well soon! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
Enjoy your trip :mickeyjum

My guys had the same thing last week. Their fever was biphasic which means they would be fevered one day and totally played out on the couch, then the next day no fever and feeling fine and the following day fevered again and not feeling so hot. The good thing was by day four they were back to normal. Just make sure you pack the meds you need Have a great trip.

Thanks for the pixiedust: everyone! ds is feeling much better. Gravol and tylenol worked for him. dd is another story. I took both kids to a walk-in clinic this morning [gorgeous doctor ~ heeheehee] He said to continue gravol and tylenol for ds and gave dd anti-biotics. She is miserable today. Our flight leaves at 7:30pm tomorrow night. That gives dd all day to rest. However, I'm worried about all the standing in lines at the airport. Are there wheel chairs at Pearson? Once we are in Florida, she will feel better. We won't be settled at CBR until midnight, but the next day is just laying by the pool and a little grocery shopping. If dd is up to it, we might have a little dinner at the POLY and watch WISHES. Thanks again! Sandra

Sounds like my 2 youngest ones they were throwing up one day and fever nearing 104 then they were fine the next day only to be right back to the start teh next it lasted nearly a week.

My little guy has a cough and fever today and just moping on the couch all day.
This must be really going around right now.
I just feel so terrible for all the little ones who have to spend their march break sick!

I hope your kids feel better

ds is better today. dd is still pretty sick with a cough and fever that just won't break. We have less that 24 hours before we'll be at the airport! S

I am so sorry your dd is still sick. Did you call your Dr. to see what they suggest? If the Dr. gives the go ahead to travel then I would feel better if it were me. Just a thought but maybe you can somehow postpone for a couple of days to make sure she is better and add on to the end of your vacation. I would definately call the hotel and airline to see if there is anything you can do. I know being March Break this will be tough but it depends what type of tickets you are travelling on.

Another thought, if you have cancellation insurance you can probably cancel and rebook when she is better. I know this is not ideal but just a few options.

Good Luck and I really hope she feels better.

dd's fever is still around, but she is acting healthier than earlier. I brought both kids to the doctor this morning. dd is on anti-biotics. dd is a Make A Wish Kid, so she is used to being sick. We don't plan on any parks until Thursday. She'll be better by than. If she is up to it ~ we will go swimming with the sharks and rays on Wed! S :Pinkbounc

After all the planning you can never predict these kind of things! :confused3

I just wanted to say that I hope things work out for your family. Just make sure you're prepared for a doctor visit while away incase your dd doesn't come around as quickly as you hope.

Have a wonderful time and let us know how things went when you get back.

 :yay: :yay:

Hope your DD is feeling better today Sandra. Have a good trip.

I hope that your kids will magically feel 100% when you get there.

It's a long walk when you get off the plane to the Magical Express, that's the only part of the trip I would be worried about. That feeling of so close yet so far is hard to take.

I hope you have a great trip and that the worst is over.

Hi Sandra. Hope everyone is much better by today. And yes, the Disney magic does make everyone feel better. Sounds like you've planned it out well, and just try and get wheelchairs in both airports.

Here's some extra pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for all of you. Have a magical vacation.

I have been thinking of your family and praying for a speedy recovery for your dd. Have a wonderful, magical trip. Only hours to go.. Have fun in the Florida sun. :sunny: The weather in Southern Ontario sucks today. Cold and snow! :sad2: So as you said, I am sure once she is in Florida she will feel better.

Hope the kids are feeling much better today and that you are on your way, Sandra. Have a wonderful trip! pixiedust:

See you when you get back!
