First, here is a link to my pre-trip report
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1873940
I just got back on Saturday and have the first installment of my report done...so here you go
I have pictures, but most will be scenery or pictures of me since I do not want to put her picture online.
Well lets start with the night before I left. It was July 11. My brother (who is 22) had a doubleheader game so I ended up going to that and then going out with the team and families to Unos restaurant We were there for awhile, then one of the guys decided they were going to have a bit of a get together at his house. I was planning on going for a half hour or so and ended up staying til 3am. We had a great time though, so it was definitely worth it.
Saturday July 12
I woke up at 8am and my grandparents had made pancakes for breakfast as one of my little cousins had spent the night at their house. So I had some pancakes and talked to my cousin. She is 7 and was telling me to make sure I called as soon as I got to Florida so that she would not worry about meit was too cute. My parents were taking me to the airport for my 11:47 flight. We stopped at Wawa on the way to get a sandwich since I knew there wouldnt be any decent food on the plane for lunch. I got to the airport and checked in with no problem and sat to wait for my flight. I ended up meeting a nice family that was going to florida for the sons 6th birthday. They were really sweet to talk to. I boarded the plane and had an aisle seat. There was a little boy next to me, about 8 years old. He was on his first flight and was terrified. So the lady on the other side of him and I tried to talk to him and calm him down. He then was happy and sweet as anything, but the parents did not look over once to check on him so it was a bit annoying.
I landed about 20 minutes early. My cousin had not yet landed, so I went to get my luggage and then wait for her. After she landed and got her luggage, we headed to the car rental. They told us for 50.00 we could upgrade to a convertible, so we did. We picked up the car (a while eclipse) and headed to our resort. We were staying at Polynesian Isles. As I said before, I do not recall ever staying off property so this was a new situation for us. Check in was easy and we were directed to our room, number 831. When we got there, we saw we were on the 3rd floor with no elevator. So it was definitely interesting getting our suitcases up all of those stairs! When we walked in, we were surprised at how spacious the place was. There was one bedroom and its bathroom to the right immediately when you walked in the door.
There was a full kitchen and dining room as well as a family area with a tv, a couple of chairs, and a couch.
Then the master bedroom with a huge bathroom and tub. We also had a balcony that looked out over the tennis courts.
We unpacked and then headed to Walmart which was right down the street from our resort. We just got some waters, a few snacks and breakfast items and then headed back to the room. Once we got everything away, we went t the Macaroni Grill for dinner, which was just down the street in the other direction. Our next plan of action was to go to Carvel. We both love Carvel! There are no carvel stores in Colorado so we knew we were headed to carvel at one point. We got the Garmin and headed straight for the closest carvel. We got turned around once and the garmin (which we named Carmen) and it said Recalculating So for the rest of the trip, we would say recalculating everytime we got confused.
We headed back to the resort and decided to relax and watch a movie. We chose How to lose a guy in 10 days. We ended up going to bed somewhere around midnight.
