We received 2 Censusus in the mail b/c we live in an apartment and, as weird as it sounds, we could go by 2 different addresses, so the 2 censuses are addressed to 2 different addresses that our complex goes by, should we fill both of them out? I don't want to get fined $300.

ME and fiance live together, not married, but have daughter together. But it is 1 per household right?

I would fill one out and on the other put "same address and info as XXXXXXXX" and send it in the same envelope.

I received two Censuses (Censi?) as well. Both with the same address, but one marked "upstairs" and one marked "downstairs". However, it is a single family residence.

I filled out the one marked "downstairs" and enclosed a note in the other one stating that there is no "upstairs dwelling" and to reference the first one.

Hope that helps,
Laura :)

Not to answer your question, but there is only one Census. You received multiple forms. ;)

I have the opposite problem -- I rent the upstairs of a house, someone else rents the basement -- I don't really know him at all.

We got one form. I called and they kept saying that when I sent back the form without his info they'd realize he failed to fill it out and send someone to get it. I doubt this, it seems to me that if they already knew exactly who lived here they would have sent us 2, and that they clearly didn't know we have 2 units. Eventually, they figured out a way to send us a second form.

did you put them all in the same envelope?

I understand your concern. Especially considering the lengths they've gone to to communicate that filling out the census is important and required. But, you definitely shouldn't fill out both. If you do you'd be counting yourselves twice, which gives them incorrect data. I'd do what PPs have suggested and return one with a short, but clearly worded, note explaining the situation. I'm sure they're used to that kind of thing. :thumbsup2

We own two homes, one is empty and for sale. We also have two census forms and are not sure what to do. Weird spot to be in.

fill the form out for the house you actually live in. For the second house enter 0 for the number of people who live there and mail it back.
