2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Sunday's Trivia Question:
What is the motto for the Rescue Aid Society and in which movie would you find the Rescue Aid Society?

Movie is the Rescuers. The motto is, "Through wind and rain and dark of night, we never fail to do what's right."....I think

:banana::banana:

This is my favorite movie ever!!! You find it in the Rescuers! And this is the link to see that part of the movie and the lyrics are...
R-E-S-C-U-E
Rescue Aid Society
Heads held high, touch the sky
You mean everything to me

In a fix, in a bind
Call on us anytime
We'll appear from nowhere
Mighty are we

R-E-S-C-U-E
Rescue Aid Society
Honesty, loyalty
We pledge to thee

R-E-S-C-U-E
Rescue Aid Society
Heads held high, touch the sky
You mean everything to me

In a jam, in a scrape
And you think, "no escape"
Do not fear, we'll be here
Courageous are we

R-E-S-C-U-E
Rescue Aid Society
Heads held high, touch the sky
Our hearts we pledge to thee

First released on June 22, 1977. The 23rd film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, the film is about the Rescue Aid Society, an international mouse organization headquartered in New York and shadowing the United Nations, dedicated to helping abduction victims around the world at large. Two of these mice, jittery janitor Bernard (Bob Newhart) and his co-agent, the elegant Miss Bianca (Eva Gabor), set out to rescue Penny (Michelle Stacy), an orphan girl being held prisoner in the Devil's Bayou by treasure huntress Madame Medusa (Geraldine Page).
The film is based on a series of books by Margery Sharp, most notably The Rescuers and Miss Bianca. Due to the film's success, a sequel entitled The Rescuers Down Under was released in 1990.
On January 8, 1999, three days after the film's second release on home video, the Walt Disney Company announced a recall of about 3.4 million copies of the videotapes because there was an objectionable image in one of The Rescuers background cells.
The image in question is a blurry image of a topless woman that appears in two out of the film's more than 110,000 frames. The image appears twice in non-consecutive frames during the scene in which Miss Bianca and Bernard are flying on Orville's back through New York City. The two images could not be seen in ordinary viewing because the film runs too fast — at 30 frames per second on video.
In 1999, two days after the recall was announced, the London press site The Independent reported:
A Disney spokeswoman said that the images in The Rescuers were placed in the film during production, but she declined to say what they were or who placed them... The company said the aim of the recall was to keep its promise to families that they can trust and rely on the Disney brand to provide the best in family entertainment.
The Rescuers video was reissued March 23, 1999 with the offending image edited out. On May 20, 2003, the film was released on DVD.
I saw the picture on a website and it's true... I'm not sure I'm allowed to put it on here!

Hmmmm...wonder what the images were...cool bit of trivia! Now my inquiring mind wants to find out! :rotfl2:

Guess what what I scored today...I really need to STOP messing with my ADRs!!!!!

Shrek is not disney...old movie! One of Walt's first...but not a major release!

Haha yeah I know but was trying to look it up. My last guess for now because I have to wake up my daughter from her catnap Flowers and Trees.

Monday's Trivia Question:
What was the first Disney film to win an award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences?

I think Walt's first Oscar was one of the technical achievement awards for snow white. The saute was a custom one with one large Oscar and 7 smaller ones.

Is it snow white and the 7 dwarfs? This is a hard one!

AND

STOP MESSING WITH YOUR ADR'S!!!! EVEN IF YOU DID GET AN AWESOME RESSIE (I PEAKED ON FACEBOOK!)

thanks Heather...now keep me off the WDW site! I think I have what I want...not that I did not have what I wanted off and on for the last 140 days!

I think I finally decided that if I want to to that date night with dh...then we have to go do Osborne Lights on the 29th...we can't do both Osborne Lights and F! in the same night, get the kids food, change, and get to the Yachtsman by 9:00 pm...the other day that I have scheduled for DHS, there is no F! or Osborne Lights!

 I knew you would find it eventually! Hope that little cat nap does not keep you up tonight...I miss the cuddling days, but I sure don't miss the sleepless nights!

According to Wikipedia: The color Flowers and Trees was a commercial and critical success, winning the first Academy Award for Animated Short Subjects in 1932.

Thanks for the welcome I've been lurking on your PTR for a bit, this was the first one that was posted when I could answer it.

Is that Akershus? And - QUIT MESSING WITH YOUR ADRs!! :rotfl:

P.S. I wanna be our facebook friend too...

That was a good challenge. Her catnaps def. don't keep us up at night. :) They get her to her bedtime so she sleeps through the night. I love cuddling with her. I don't want it to end...haha We have been spoiled with her. She has pretty much slept through the night since day one. She is still sleeping while I am on here right now. She won't be up until 8:00-8:30.

Just checking in to say hi and let you know that I cancelled my ADRs for this Saturday, so you are not alone in your changing things around.

No, I already had Akershus...but now I have cancelled it for Cinderellas Royal Table and sleeping a little later one morning. I don't think I could force Boo and Goo into 3 Princess Meals...I think I once in a lifetime trip calls for eating in the castle and now that I went DxDp we had enough credits! Plus there was no way I was giving up 1900 Park Fare Dinner...I want the boys to get some personal time with the stepsisters! :rotfl:

I would love to have you as a facebook friend...

How lucky are you to have one that sleeps! I don't think you can hold babies enough! Hold away for me too!

Well if a seasoned pro changes her ADRs...hmmm do I get to change more? :rotfl2: Are you packed for this months adventure?

Haven't even started. Never put the empty suitcases back in storage, they have been sitting out for a month now...EMPTY. We have been to busy having fun---Legoland last Thursday, looking at a college Saturday and yesterday. Today we are off to the MK so that Grumpy can talk to Chef Ken about going to culinary school. Then I will start packing...I hope.

There is a cold front coming through on Thursday, if the weather hasn't changed since I last looked. So I need to pack sweats for after swimming so it's not such a cold walk to the room.

Anything you want me to try to look into at POP while I'm there?

Last summer we had some friends go to WDW and while shopping in DTD their son who is Goo's age designed a car at Ridemakerz...ever since then Goo has been talking about wanting to build his own car (and right now you can customize cars from CARS2)! I know the boys are going to stop in here...along with Jeff who loves restoring old cars! There will be a lot of time for my 3 boys spent drooling over all the possible customizations. I have asked MIL to get the boys gift cards to here for Christmas...if not, then they can use some of their Santa money!
