Tuesday's Trivia Question:
What type of animal is the Sultan's throne shaped like in Aladdin?

An elephant.
:thumbsup2

And as for the question... I couldn't find a picture, but thought I would share a youtube video. It is one of the reasons I miss going to DL. One of my favorite Disney Park Shows. It is amazing!

Aladdin in DL

Just the little bit I watched makes me want to see it again. However, I am not sure it is even there any more... we have not been to DL since 2007 :sad2:

So I have been messing around with Ridemax and Touring Plans...trying to merge some ideas for the last hour in regards to Animal Kingdom. I know we will want to do EE twice, so there really is not time to do KS twice...so crossing our fingers that the animals will be up bright and early for our safari.

I think I have somewhat a plan that will work for us a little more tinkering to do before I am ready to share...although I am sure things will change between now

We are definitely entering into another phase of the planning. Being closer to the trip, we can tinker a bit more... for months I have not done much planning....now I can start to really organize my thoughts.

I can't wait to read how your tinkering affected your plans. I am sure for the better! :goodvibes

Question-2.gif

What do y'all :) think about Kali Rapids in December? Do they turn down the "wet" factor? Should I include it in my plans for AK? I really do not enjoy being in wet clothes especially when I think about December.

EeyoresattemptatKaliRiverRapids.jpg

Where the wet factor comes into play the most are the people standing on the bridge at the helm of the water jets. These people are not cm, they are guests. Usually guests with a vindictive streak, lol. I have seen people make it dry to the end when the people on the bridge "get" them.

Will the tree house be opened soon? I was surprised to see the tree house closed at MK the last couple times. I thought it had just reopened right before that?

Yes, but he said no Disney. Plus...it is pretty spendy. Kinda more in line with how much DL hotels cost.

I see... I didn't know that! I am hoping to get to Texas next year... I miss it! And I know that DH would be in heaven at some of the restaurants (he loves spicy food)!

I hear that EE at the end of the day (when it's starting to get dark) is really good!
Can't wait to hear!

I have to admit I really liked this ride, although I think was expecting so much more thrill...but what I did get was nice a relaxing! Boo and I watched Modern Marvels a few months ago and we both were fascinated with all that went into designing this ride...he wants to be an engineer and is really good at taking things apart and putting them together so this was right up his alley! In fact, I have caught him several times rewatching this episode of Modern Marvels...hey maybe someday he will be an Imagineer and design the next-best-have to ride attraction!

Wednesday's Question:
What song, from what Disney film, was considered to be Walt's favorite? Who sang the song?

YAY I get first! I have to catch up in points....

"Feed the Birds" is a song written by the Sherman Brothers (Richard M. Sherman & Robert B. Sherman) and featured in the 1964 motion picture Mary Poppins. It is reputed to have been Walt Disney's favorite song.
The song speaks of an old beggar woman (portrayed by actress Jane Darwell) who sits on the steps of Saint Paul's Cathedral, selling bags of breadcrumbs to passers-by for tuppence a bag, so that the passers-by can feed the many pigeons who surround the old woman. (The scene is reminiscent of the real-life seed sellers in Trafalgar Square.)
In 2005, Julie Andrews selected the song as part of the album "Julie Andrews Selects Her Favorite Disney Songs".

For a movie night activity you can do sidewalk paintings with chalk (odvious), you can have a tea party for the food and drinks (little sandwiches, petti fours, and "tea" (iced tea in tea cups). For dessert if you didn't do the sidewalk chalk you could give each child a small square cake piece and have them make pictures on it with icing! Another activity is to have a chimney sweep race (use a broom to sweep a room and see who gets done first)!

I saw on fb what you did. :woohoo:

And shoot...I am gonna lose my slight lead. I missed the question. :scratchin" how bout a the video of Mary singing so I don't fall tooo far behind. ;)

and the lyrics

Feed the Birds

Performed by: Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews)
Written by: Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman
Early each day to the steps of Saint Paul's
The little old bird woman comes.
In her own special way to the people she calls,
"Come, buy my bags full of crumbs.

Come feed the little birds, show them you care
And you'll be glad if you do.
Their young ones are hungry,
Their nests are so bare;
All it takes is tuppence from you."

Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag.
"Feed the birds," that's what she cries,
While overhead, her birds fill the skies.

All around the cathedral the saints and apostles
Look down as she sells her wares.
Although you can't see it, you know they are smiling
Each time someone shows that he cares.

Though her words are simple and few,
Listen, listen, she's calling to you:
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag."

And just so that everyone understands the lyrics.... Tuppence=
Noun 1. tuppence - a former United Kingdom silver coin; United Kingdom bronze decimal coin worth two pennies
twopence
coin - a flat metal piece (usually a disc) used as money

Woo Soarin'!! I love that ride too!!! I didn't get to ride it when we were there last July. I'm hoping to ride it when we're there in Feb

QUESS WHAT I DID TODAY?:banana::banana::banana:

Need some clues?

So what did I do? I went ahead and officially booked (and paid) for our "1 more day"...so the night of Jan. 6 we will be staying at POP. I booked 2 adjoining rooms!

Then I went ahead and paid off my balance for the Universal portion of our trip.

So all we have left to pay for is WDW tickets (which I will purchase with this month's pay check) and dining plan (which I have the $$ for just waiting for my DVC member I rented from to be available for a 3 way call to Disney). Dave Ramsey says cash only and it looks like we are going to be able to pull off this trip paid in full without using the credit cards...:yay::yay::yay: I have already bought all the new clothes for the kids along with the advent reveal gifts as the year has passed...their Santa present of gift cards are already bought along with all the travel/stocking stuffers...so I really do not have anymore expenses for them as a result of the trip. My bonus check for all the extra training I have been doing for the school district will come in my December check so that will cover all the dining at Universal, transportation costs, and some extras....:woohoo: Feels great not to go in debt over this trip and January will be happy when there are no statements from credit card companies to deal with!
