79. Miyuki in Japan

IMG_1143.jpg

When I visited Epcot I had on my list of things to see was Miyuki, the candy artist, in Japan.

Here is the information from WDW site:
Miyuki sculpts a "clay" made of soft rice dough into elaborate animal shapes—a Japanese art form that goes back hundreds of years—at the Japan Pavilion in Epcot theme park.Watch in amazement as Miyuki brings to life dazzling dragons, regal horses and vibrant flowers. Starting with a simple white base, Miyuki stretches out the rice dough into ribbons and molds it into various shapes and sizes while adding color as needed.Miyuki is the only female trained in this traditional sculpture technique in Epcot, and is always glad to take requests when making her creations.Miyuki performs for 20 minutes at various times throughout the day, so be sure to check the Times Guide at Epcot to know exactly when you can catch her.

That's great the festival is such a sucessful fun raiser. Bummer about the falling out. But I'm glad it gave you family time to enjoy the carnival!

I'm late to the pity party but I'm here now!! :sad2:

Okay - I am going to sound redundant to what everyone else has already said... but you were put in your position because you are mature, capable, and responsible... the others are not in that position because they aren't YOU. :goodvibes

I totally get what you say about high school drama causing wish their lives weren't passing them by and should they get botox women.... ;) And please nobody flame me if they have utilized botox - that's not my intention to poke fun... I'm more saying there are so many other things that should be prioritized, such as their classrooms/curriculum than to be back biting someone who is only trying to help them be better in their jobs. I will never understand why some people get so defensive about 'constructive criticism.' :confused3 I guess when you force people out of their comfort zones, they don't like it too much... HANG IN THERE! I feel totally compelled to make the trek over the border to take you to lunch! :goodvibes Rain storms in between and all! :thumbsup2

You are a strong woman.... focus on your family... those ladies will soon be back biting each other... it always comes full circle and you will have some friends again - only this time you will have the ones that are sincere.

I hope you all had fun at the carnival today!! I love family time! We drove 250 miles roundtrip to make it to the boys football games today - came home with 2 winners though! So close to the end of regular season play... play-offs in just a few short weeks!

Here's to a relaxing day for you tomorrow! Just throw that laundry on the couch and you are good to go! :goodvibes

For some reason the high school drama doesn't end as we get older. It seems to get worse if that is even possible. Some people just never grow up. I hated it in high school and I hate it even more now. You think they would want to set and example for their children. I am sorry this happened but as you mentioned you get to spend the time with your family with is much better than working with those women. Look at the positive and know that you always did what you had to do and were great at it but now you are able to spend time and have fun with your family.

I know I'm a day late (works been crazy this week) but pity party all you want! Let the feelings out anytime, and as you can see, we're all happy to listen! Disney and pitty party support group!!

And I don't know if theses are too late, but i saw no one posted any more!
"Look at this. I'm so ticked off that I'm molting. "
''That's Sultan Vile Betrayer to you. ''
''Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute! Jafar, what if *you* were the chump husband? ''
''Yes, merit. Yes! And then, we drop papa-in-law and the little woman off a cliff... "Yaaaah! Kersplat!" ''
''Oh there's a big surprise! That's an incredible - I think I'm going to have a heart attack and die of not surprise! ''
"And how about this picture? I don't know, I think I'm making a weird face in it? "

Sunday's Trivia:
What was the 1st movie released after Walt Disney's death?

Saturday's Trivia:
What name does Dumbo's mother give to him when he is born?

Jumbo, or Jumbo Junior!

3 points...1/2 credit since it was a day late...but funny...I wonder what the set was like with both Gilbert and Robin Williams doing voices for this movie.

78. Tom Sawyer's Island

I am looking forward to taking some time away from the hustle and bustle of Magic Kingdom and let the boys have an adventure on Tom Sawyer's Island. We are spending 2 days in MK, so we have plenty of time to run off some energy here. Boo has read Tom Sawyer...and after watching Tom & Huck Goo thinks he is Tom Sawyer when we are up at the cabin exploring around.

Dinner & a Movie Night
September 30th
Phineas & Ferb Across the Second Dimension

003.jpg

I have to admit, that I love Phineas and Ferb almost as much as the kids, the show is so well written and so clever. What a great message it sends to kids to be creative in the summer...not just sit around in the house watching TV. Goo has been bugging me forever to have a Phineas and Ferb night, so while dad and Boo went to the cabin during the weekend we pulled the couch bed out...got fast food to match the theme and had a great time watching the movie.

Activity:

Paper Folding Perry Figure

We also had a air guitar contest on the wii (but my camera battery died) and we played Your So busted Balloon Pop (sat on balloons and tried to see who could pop it first)

Dinner:

Ab:

Candace's Favorite Grill Cheese Sandwich made using Stinky Limburger Cheese with Platypus Eggs and Lemonade from Phineas and Ferb's Stand

Goo:

Corndog from Mr. Slushy Dog (where Jeremy works) with Platypus Eggs and Lemonade from Phineas and Ferb's Stand

Dr. Doofen Schmirtz's Sundae-inator

We went to a frozen yogurt bar, and I let Goo make his sundae just like he wanted for a change...the kids tell me there was an actual episode with a sundae-inator and here I thought I was being so cleaver! :rotfl:

Sunday's Trivia:
What was the 1st movie released after Walt Disney's death?

The Jungle Book

Jungle book in October 1967

Noelle

1 point to both of you...sitting here with Boo watching the movie...hey this was supposed to be movie night and there are only 2 of us watching it? :confused3 Jeff went our room to watch football, Ab went to Teen Mass at church and Goo wanted to be in tub! Oh well, Boo and I are having fun singing at the top of our lungs!

I too like Phineas and Ferb. It makes me laugh every time!!

I have seen Miyuki. We have enjoyed her demonstration, but never been lucky enough to get a candy made. I had thought she wasn't going to be there any more. Glad to hear that she will be.

And... Tom Sawyer Island is so much fun!

Yikes...I hope she still is there...now I am going to have to find out. I heard that because of health department guidelines she could not give out her creations.:confused3

She was there in August. I was surprised to see her because I had heard she wasn't there anymore. I was also surprised to see acrobatics at China, last Monday.

She does not give out the candy she makes though. My oldest was fortunate enough to score a shark years ago!

WAHOO....

Fantasmic.jpg

Just scored a better ADR time for F! package on Dec. 29th...now maybe we can see the stunt show and Lightning on the 29th...and the whole streets of America end of the park on the 29th so that when we go back the 5th we can focus on TSM and TOT!

Oh I have been wondering what my dear Disney friends have been up to and now I can finally read it all! But OH MY am I behind! I was back like 30 pages!
I am so behind in your game.... I'm sorry! I never did see those bags in any of our Walgreens though! So I didn't get to nab them!
That's the same thing for my Damien, but he's big enough for most of the stuff at Disney! So I am not sure how he's going to react...... although he's growning faster than the weeds in my garden!
What do the shirts look like that you made?
I love all of this Universal stuff, but Damien is looking on while I am reading through so this is a conversation we just had...... DS says "I wanna go there" I respond, "No we are going to go to Disney and next time we take a trip we will go there" DS replies "That's okay we can just go there we don't have to go to Disney" well I say "sure we do because we boked it already" and DS walks away. DH replies "I knew this trip was for you and not him!"
MMMM...... I love that double feature of Tom Huck and Song of the South! The cobbler and ice cream looked yummy, but so did the food for the next day! And great thinking for the rafts!
Was Dopey really supposed to be the apprentice? I like Mickey better!
Oh yes I want to join you, I have been trying to get to the pools for an hour a day to swim laps! I should also be walking, but our puppy can't walk yet and chocolate just keeps calling my name! I need someone that I have to account to!
Oh I love my google!
Awesome job on booking the return flights! I think that I would have made te same choice that you made with my flights! But I'm sorry about your flights going there..... I like the idea that if you have to stay at the hotel to have a birthday cake for Jesus and watch the mass.... maybe see if the hotel has some instruments or their own thing that your kids can participate in? Maybe have them reinact the scene with you guys! If you have to spend time in Houston I have some family there that can pick you up and stay with for a few hours (my little sister is around Ab's age of 11 though). With your options though I think that personally I would go with the SW for the 24th and maybe the church has a church van that can pick you up. I know that a lot of churches have transportation services and they have extras on holidays (you may have to give a donation or something though).
MMMM that stromboli looked good!
YAY double digits--- I couldn't get on the internet for mine, but I was being happy to myself, although I can't let monkey know why I was happy that day because he thinks we are going on Santa's day (christmas day) right after we celebrate Jesus' birthday (Christmas Eve)!
I can make crepes, but where did you get the pudding recipe? Is it sweet? Is it easy to adjust to diets?
I love these hundred day countdown things! I think that I am going to start doing that as soon as I catch up to everyone else's PTRs and tr's!
I like the plan that you finally came to! And I think that it will work nice and it's nice not to make the in-laws angry all he time, I mean you are going to be one some day and you don't want to be treated like that! Atleast this is the speech that I tel myself all of the time when I am frustrated with them..... it works around 20% of the time for me to keep my anger and spitfullness to myself! And I like the gifts you got in the mail!
My son's loking forward to the tower of terror as well! I told him about the time that I went on with Grandpa train and he wants to be braver than his Grandpa train!
It's so werid that with every page turn I see my name drop in your game.... Oh man! But are you not taking movie ideas anymore?
Oh I am not looking forward to that TSM dash either! It's kinda scary to think of it.... but it's one of my DS's favorite movies!
Oh I want to see turtle talk too! I wonder how they pick people to talk to......
I am so sorry that things are not looking up for you... I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! I hope that things get better and always feel free to cry to us.... even when I'm not on to see it right away I will see it!
You know I had dealt with high school drama too between moms the other day. I got to the PTO meeting early to help set up and the moms that run it were kids that were in my son's class last year and are still in his class this year so they were talking about the teacher last year (which I really didn't like and feel that she is not a good person with stress so should not be in a class alone with lots of kids-hey I'm not good with stress either that's why I try to keep myself out of it). But they were talking so masty about her and then during the meeting she walks in and after the meeting I am helping to clean up and they are talking to her like they are all best friends! I was so shocked I had to tell another mom that I have become the closest with (her son was in DS's class last year and this year also but she wasn't at the meeting- she took both boys to soccer practice for me). She said that all moms do that- she promises that she never did that to me though?!?! But she said that all moms get like that and it's just a thing moms have to do? I don't like this way of mom! But good for you standing up to her! I haven't had to yet (thank goodness because again I'm not good with that)! And you aren't going to loose any sleep over anything- now you get to enjoy it instead of stressing over it!
Wooo Hoooo for the F! change!
Okay I am all caught up with you now! I think that I should catch up on Ann's after I let the puppy out!

77. Riding the Monorail

MONORAIL.jpg

When I think Disney transportation I think monorail! Here are some facts I found about the monorail....

1. The monorail system boasts 13.6 miles of track.
2. Each monorail is 203 feet long.
3. Each monorail has 6 cars.
4. Monorails have been running continuously at Walt Disney World since 1971.
5. In 1990, the monorails were modernized with upgraded safety features and more capacity.
6. Each monorail can carry up to 365 passengers
7. The monorail system features two main sections for passenger transporation. The original section links the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort, Ticket & Transportation Center, Polynesian Resort and Grand Floridian Resort and circles the Seven Seas Lagoon. The second section opened in 1982 and links Epcot with the Ticket & Transportation Center.
8. Monorails travel on rubber tires.
9. The monorail track beam is just 26″ wide.
10. Monorails carry approximately 150,000 passengers each day.
11. There are 12 monorails in the fleet identified by a uniquely colored stripe.
