2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Firday's Question
During the battle with Aladdin, what type of animal does Jafar transform himself into?

:woohoo: So glad you have your plan and I'm glad you were able to go with Plan A! What makes you think Ab is on to your secret??

Me too...glad that travel arrangements are made...now I just have to focus getting everything paid off in the next 2 months.

Ab overheard me talking to Jeff on the phone the other night about the flight issues and wanted to know why we were flying over Christmas. :scared1: I played it off like we were going to fly to see the family in Colorado to go skiing, the skiing and the plane trip would be their gift since they really do not need anything...we would fly for a change so dad could come back early and we could stay longer...and asked her what she thought about flying to Colorado and skiing for Christmas, she was all over that idea for a gift. I told her to keep it a secret from the boys.

Whew...so I am just going to adjust my reveal a little since we are flying to Denver then to Orlando. So I will reveal a plane trip and then head to the airport and when we arrive in Denver we have to switch terminals...we arrive on B and depart from A which is towards the baggage claim so we will accidently get off on A while we head to baggage...hopefully someone will catch the mistake once we get can't find baggage claim and some how we will say, well let's just go to Florida and forget about the bags.:woohoo:

Yep, I lay awake at night trying to figure out how to make everything work! :rotfl2:

Jafar turns into a snake and horray for booking flights :goodvibes

100 Things I am Looking Forward to...

I loved this attraction...we had not planned to even bother with another "show" after doing Universal's shows prior to our WDW stay, but when I was getting fast passes for Peter Pan we received and additional fast pass for Mickey's Philharmonic! So of course we had to use it...can't let a fast pass go to waste and I am sure glad we did! I am not a big fan of Fantasia, and that is what I was expecting...not what was delivered. Who doesn't love to see Donald try to get out of the trouble he causes because of his jealously with Mickey? The music was the best part...all the snippets from your favorite Disney movies all woven together along with cast members from that movie to tell the story! Mickey's Philharmonic was fun, light hearted, and highly enjoyable (of course part of that was getting out of the heat with some AC and sitting down).

I found on another thread about someone wanting to make a little extra magic for their kids and actually take in little treasure chest jewels, and in that part when the jewels are falling they drop some in their child's lap...I have down on my packing list to get some jewels and do this for Goo!

I love this show... I think it would be so easy to over look it and it is SUCH a good one. And the idea of dropping the jewels in the lap. What a great idea!!! I may just do that. I think my dd would think that all these times she didn't get pixie dust and this time was her time to get it. She will think she is special.

Thanks for the input

I went ahead and booked our departing flights this afternoon (even though I have not gotten the refund back, I switched some savings around to cover myself)...priceline had a price I was willing to pay...$400 more than our tickets that were cancelled ...but I was able to save $200 off of the price by booking in 2 lots...yep, I beat the system! :woohoo: When I put in for five tickets, it was costing my almost $1700, but when I put in 2 tickets the price was $500 and then 3 tickets was a little under $1000. There was enough seats open that I felt confident to split the tickets....then after the tickets were bought I went in and changed seat assignments so that we were altogether.

The good things about this new flight plan for departing:
1. Departs an hour later than our 1st flight booked...which makes for not such an early Christmas morning after a late mass the night before
2. Gets in only 1/2 hour later than our 1st flight booked
3. Only has 1 stop/1 plane change instead of 2 stops/2 plane changes
4. Flights are all on jet service
5. We route through Denver, so I am rethinking my reveal since I think Ab is on to my secret...:scared1:

:woohoo: for getting the flight! You and I think alike when it comes to booking... tinker and finagle until we get the right flight. Isn't it strange how booking 2 and then 3 tickets were less than booking all together?

So Ab is onto you? Oh no!!!

Look what I got in the mail to add to the travel bags...

Thanks lovethattink for taking the time to collect all of these and then send them to me. I really appreciate the 3 sets for each child, and I know they will love them!!!!

I also got 3 sets of these from another DISboard member!

That is so cool that the dismembers sent these too you. I can't get over how great all the disboard people are!!! Just curious... have you ordered the maps online from Disney? They are nice... almost too nice.

Good diversion for Ab! Very smart thinking and just one more piece of fun to add to the surprise!! :thumbsup2 I don't know about you - but as the trip gets closer, I find myself more prone to slipping up about it - just not thinking and have to stop myself from saying something matter of fact about it.

I did have one mishap with Erin - one of my co-workers wanted to see one of the t-shirts I got for Eddie for trip and I took a pic on my phone and sent it to her - well dumb me didn't delete the picture and she was browsing through and saw it and said "What's this shirt for with Dad's name on it?" I told her it was an inside joke and I was planning on giving it to him sometime but not to say anything to him about it. She asked me the other day when I was going to give it to him and I just told her it wasn't time yet... :rotfl: She will definitely be the one that blows the surprise wide open... :confused3 Hopefully, she won't get too nosy.

The pictures of the Christmas trees you posted brought tears to my eyes!! I know that's silly - the kids and I are relaxing for a bit this morning (scary we have the time but a perk to getting house chores done yesterday) before we hit the road for football games today. ANYWAY - I'm digressing - my kids are sitting here watching Snow White (the boys, too) and I'm loving it. :rotfl: After seeing your picture post of the trees - it just made me happy! So thank you for your 100 things postings!

I love the pictures of the trees!! Definitely on my top list of things I am excited about too. :goodvibes

Love the tree pics!! I haven't seen all the Disney trees. The one at the Yacht Club is one of my favorites. I try to get a pic of the boys there each year. It's nautical in theming so it works great for my fishermen!!

Love the pictures! I really want to go there around Christmas time to see all of the decorations.

I think you should,Zoe would LOVE IT! I have a note to myself that next time I am in Hobby Lobby to take care of this!

I know what up with that...I saved almost $200 doing it that way!

So Ab is onto you? Oh no!!!

Yep, I had to think on my toes fast for that one.

No I had not ordered the maps, I keep thinking about it, but I am afraid to have anything delivered to the house with Disney on it. Maybe I should check into them!

Lots of people know we are going...I constantly have to remind them that is it a secret. The ones that really need to know...my in laws...do not know! That is Jeff's job to tell his mother, not mine!

The trees did the some thing to me! I am so excited about the holiday decorations! Good for you taking a personal day yesterday...I understand needing a mental health day sometimes...I have one scheduled for October 31! Glad you are enjoying the 100 things...I am having fun with it too!

I love the pictures of the trees!! Definitely on my top list of things I am excited about too. :goodvibes

My favorite tree is where you are staying...I have to find out how to get there to see it!

Love the tree pics!! I haven't seen all the Disney trees. The one at the Yacht Club is one of my favorites. I try to get a pic of the boys there each year. It's nautical in theming so it works great for my fishermen!!

Lovethattink...my disney expert...thanks for adding another tree to my list! How long do the trees usually stay up at the resort?

Love the pictures! I really want to go there around Christmas time to see all of the decorations.

I hope you get there soon! I think that is one of the biggest reasons that I picked these dates for our trip. I know it will probably been our only family trip to WDW so I want to make sure we do it right!

I'm just getting back on the DIS after a few weeks & had to pop on over to your PTR from FosterA's PTR! It may take me weeks to read the whole thing, but I'll get there! Some of our kids are about the same ages. It would be so cool to meet up on our trip, especially since we live so close! Ok, off to read.....

This has to me my favorite ride in all of the parks and I am not sure why?! The theming is wonderful and the ride itself gave me lots of thrill (something I like in a ride). The tower itself is only 199 feet tall, 1 foot taller and an airplane beacon would have to be used (only Spaceship Earth has to have the beacon). The Tower can be viewed from the world showcase, because of that the architects had to alter the back of the tower to include design elements that are more Moroccan in style.

There is a lot of hidden magic in this ride...
1. Right when you enter the lobby, look at the wall directly to the right of the concierge desk...the hotel has been awarded AAA's 13-Diamond award (hey I thought that they only gave up to 5 diamonds...13 Get it?)
2. Notice the pair of glasses on the concierge table...their lenses are broken, referring back to a twilight zone episode...if the glasses are not here look for them in the library sometimes they mysteriously move
3. Step out of the line for a second...look for the bulletin board left on the line in the small hallway before you enter the library...letters have fallen off and have formed themselves into a warning message to you (note sometimes they are in the message and sometimes they have fallen)
4. Within the library there are lots of references to the Twilight Zone TV show...not a fan so they mean nothing to me...demonic popup device, metal robot, envelope with the name Mary on it, trumpet
5.Watch closing in the preview show for a hidden Mickey...see what the child star is holding when she enters the elevator
6. After the preshow, let the others walk ahead so you can slow down in line and look at all the great theming at a slower pace
7. Just after you exit the library, look for the fuse boxes on the left hand wall...take a moment to pull the handle.
8. Just as you enter the ride elevator, look for the safety inspection certificate it is signed by Mr. Cadwallader, dated October 31, 1939...a nod to the spooky holiday and yet another Twilight Zone episode. The inspection number represents the date of the first Twilight zone episode.

Mushu- Eddie Murphy

Great job Dream....2 points, almost to the top of the point board! I loved Eddie in this movie! Of course, I love most things that Eddie does that allow his humor to come out (as long as it is clean)!

Glad you are coming along, especially since we are partically neighbors! :yay: When will your family be at WDW for the marathon? Where are you staying...I know questions, questions, questions!

I know I'm too late answering this question, but since I actually saw him at Disney and snapped his pic, I think I should get some bonus points!!

We were getting off Splash Mountain as they were getting ready to load the attraction. Waited at the bridge to snap their pic!

Tink-
it took me a little while to figure out what you were talking about in your pictures (yep, I am blonde)! How cool is that to see Eddie! I will award bonus points...thanks for sharing! :yay:
