2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

I need critics...please tell me what you think...I really need the input!

Here is what I am coming up with, keep in mind I am still considering the DxDp...I know we will be leaving some dining credits unused, but I figured out the costs and we are still way ahead in saving money. We are also breakfast people and are good until evening on eating again (but in WDW sure we will find some things to snack on...my list is already huge).

12/29-Epcot
Early Dinner: Biergarten CP Package (hoping for 3:30 pm ADR, for the 6:15 pm CP)

*We will still be officially staying at the RPR at US...this will be out of pocket. But I really want to go to CP! We will have morning and early afternoon at USO and just head to Epcot for the CP in time for ADR.
*Being of Germany descent, I thought this would be a great place and since we are paying OP the best option for CP.

If you like German food you will not be disappointed here!
12/30-DHS
Breakfast: 1900 Park Fare (10:00 am)
Late Lunch/Early Dinner: Mama Melrose F! (hoping for around 3:30-4:00 pm)

*We will be checking into the BWV this morning (hoping to be checked in by 9:30 and head to breakfast).
*I want the kids to really know that we are in WDW, so I think a trip to see the castle in the distant is a must to start this portion of 2 castles off right...plus I am dying for some strawberry soup, bread budding, and lobster eggs bendict). ALso, I am hoping that the gingerbread house at the GF will still be up!
*I am really not sure about Mama Melrose, reviews seem to be really mixed on this place. Since I am thinking deluxe, maybe I should go with Brown Derby.

12/31-AK
Breakfast: Grab and go from BW Bakery that morning, if needed...EMH-AM and I want to be at rope drop
Early Lunch: Yak & Yeti
Dinner:
1st Choice: Ohana (7:30 pm)
2nd Choice: Narcoossee's (7:30 pm)
3rd Choice: Boma (8:30 pm)

*Help me with my dinner choice! I am looking at Ohana & Nacroossee's so that we could see the fireworks at MK at 8:30...call that NYE and go to bed (or stay up and see fireworks from BWV-DHS/EPCOT at midnight). I am thinking Boma because we could stay at AK until close (8 pm) and then head back to BWV.
Yak and Yeti is very good, we missed both the CS and the TS ths year :( For dinner I would totally recommend Ohana's, we tried it this year and LOVED it! Bomas is also good but IMO Ohanas was better.

1/1-Epcot/DTD & Resort Pictures
Breakfast: Kouzzina (7:30 am)
Lunch: Snack at Countries we visit/DTD
Dinner: Raglan Road or Hoop-Dee-Do Revue (7:15 Show)

*What do you think for dinner?

1/2-MK
Breakast: Kona (7:30 am)
Early Dinner: CRT (4:00 pm)

1/3-DHS
Breakfast: Pick up something from Main Street Bakery the night before
Lunch: 50s Prime Time (11 am)
Dinner: Boma (7:30 pm)

We've been to both 50's and Boma, both are great!
1/4-MK

Breakfast: CP (8:00 am)
Dinner: Ohana, Narcoossee's, California Grill (7:15 pm)

*Dinner depending on what happens NYE night!

We did Crystal Palace for the first time for breakfast this year. YUM :goodvibes

1/5-Epcot
Breakfast: Something from Main Street Bakery the night before
Lunch: Snack around the world
Dinner: Teppan Edo, Le Cellier or Crown & Rose

Thoughts for Dinner? We will plan to take in Illumnations this night.

Teppan Edo was a favorite of all of my kids this year!

1/6-Fly
Breakfast: Chef Mickey

Never been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast but I think in the future it's the only way we'll do it, DH and DS15 did not love the dinner this year:sad1:

LOVE the bugs life movie night, my kids will love the bugs on a stick

It was so easy and fun...we ended up with some pretty crazy bugs (not to mention yummy...)

You have such great ideas!

I can't take credit for most of them...lots of internet searches and a great thread here on DIS...along with Becc1 who pops here head in here from time to time!

DH and sat down and talked. I did not like the ADR plan I had...and we came up with the many reasons. We were trying to force ourselves into the DxDP because I had done it last year and friends told us it was a must. While the California Grill has an awesome view of the fireworks, the food did not blow me over last year when I was there...and the menu just is not what my family would want. I also felt a lot DIS pressure about having to go to Le Cellier and a few other places. Pouring over my first ADR plan I posted this week, I found all these things and more. DH ask the question, what if we did no dining plan and did not worry about the money...but eat where we want? Sometimes he can be so smart!:thumbsup2 So I told the kids we needed to get ready to book our trip for Summer 2012 and pick our resturants because you have to do this a year in advance...they bought it and happily looked through the resturants and when they found something that caught their attention we looked up the menu online. I even tried forcing some of my signature ideas on them...only to be shot down.

After all afternoon of doing this...I have an ADR plan I think I really like!:goodvibes

Check these possible ADRs and tell me what you think...no dining plan!

12/29-DHS
Late Lunch/Early Dinner: F! Package Mama Melrose
*Still not sold on this menu but OP, Brown Derby is a NO. H&V is a no, DH hates buffets and I am pushing it with all of them I have planned.

Hi lady! Hope things are going well. You know I've been MIA...Alex keeping me busy and all. How are things? I see you have a new ADR list. Love it! We absolutely loved R&C!! The atmosphere there is fantastic! And T-Rex...yum! I can't wait to take Alex there. Sounds like you're gonna have lots of yummo food on your trip!

I think I really like this plan, it feels right. I really wanted to go to Le Cellier, Narcoossee's and the California Grill (2nd time for me)...but the menus were just not my family. Now that I have arrived at that conclusion and ditched the dining plan...I feel free and ready for July 3 to come!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I so can remember being busy with a little one...and it never gets any slower when they get older. :rotfl: Just a different kind of busy that usually means you are driving them somewhere.

I really enjoyed R&C last summer, and the illumations view is awesome! Ready for a silton salad and sticky toffee pudding!

I think your ADRs sound great! See your DH is saying go with no dining plan and I have a DH who refuses to go without one:rotfl: I would like to do the deluxe once, maybe on an adults only trip though, I think it would be tough touring with little ones and stopping for TS 3 times a day. They need to come up with a 2 TS and 1 QS meal plan, I could totally do that!

BTW loved the Bugs Life night, I never thought of playing thr Cootir game, we have one just not a vintage one! My kids have been asking when our next night is, I was going to only do once a month from her on out so we could stretch these until our next trip but I think it's going to have to be more llike twice a month! My kids (and me) are addicted:rotfl:

Your plan looks simpler than your last one. :thumbsup2 Funny how the guys can uncomplicate things isn't it? So you are going with out the dp at all? Not just without dxdp? I think those are good choices!

Don't let my dh hear you....:rotfl: Yep, going with NO dining plat at all! Freedom! I have gone through each resturant on allears...and came up with a food budget based on what I think my family will eat at each place...added in about $50 a day for snacks (probably pretty high, but that will cover menu increases and changes in food choices).

I have to say, I feel really good about my new plan! I don't feel the need to tinker with it anymore and just pray for some:wizard: on July 3rd and we get what we want!

We have gone without the dp once. I think i could do it again... and stick to a budget, but dh is horrid. I don't think you want to know how much we spent on that trip :confused3 Lets just say that the dp would have saved us. Oh well... for this reason, it just makes it more simple for me to add it in on the front end.

as much as i think we could go sans DP again, i dont think i want to. i LOVE not having to worry about what i am spending on meals and just hand over the card

I think in theory, going without could be a really good thing. I think you have to have good self control though...and my dh and kids don't. Me... I could always settle for something "cheaper" on the menu and still be quite happy. As it is... bringing my dh will automatically mean more oop for snacks. When it is just the girls and I we spend next to nothing while in WDW. Dh... lets just say they should enforce the $500 limit charged to the room. :sad2:

You laugh... but you would be afraid to know how much was spent in time and or money acquiring the sour gummy candy that is offered at the parks. :rotfl: DD just was there last month and knew she had to bring some home for her df. He is a fiend for them. :rotfl:

Okay...now tell me about this sour gummy candy! Where, what do they look like...what makes them so special. My kids LOVE sour gummies (and me too :thumbsup2)

It is prepackaged candy.. pretty much sold at any place that sells candy. I think it is called Goofy Gummies. They don't seem too special to me. Mickey heads that are gummy and sour. Tricky little things though since at some places we could get them as a snack on the dp and other places wouldn't let us since it is listed as being "family" size and not individual.
