2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

hi Tammie,

pretty sure i saw that you bbq for Mother's day. It reminded me of a great article I have read.... and have actually left on the table for all to read on the days my DH wants to BBQ for dinner..... :rotfl:

Men and BBQ's

Now that BBQ season has arrived, it is perhaps a good idea to remind one and all of the tremendous significance of barbeques in the fabric of society and why men have barbequed meat from the dawn of civilization. Keep up the good work, men!

BBQ: It's the only type of cooking a real man will do.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

1) The woman buys the food.

2) The woman makes the salad, vegetables, and dessert.

3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill -- beer in hand.

Here comes the important part .....

4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine....

5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.

6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning.

He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again ....

7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

More routine.....

8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes. And most of all ....

10) Everyone PRAISES the man and THANKS him for his cooking efforts.

11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off."

And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

Do they make a cartoon that depicts an annoyed DW with her annoying DH? :lmao:

You guys walked 8 MILES???? I can barely get my son to walk the 2 to the store for a treat! I hope that mother's day went well and you are feeling a bit more :cloud9:!

:rotfl2: Maybe we should become animators...I am sure we could write some great story lines!

Yep, we sure did and it was a HIKE...not an easy pace. I felt sorry for some of the kids...they had never done anything even close to that in their entire lives. Proud of them!

Not really anything to report towards the trip except that SW has moved up announcing flight schedule through January 6 from May 26 to May 24!!!! I spent my lunch hour looking at all the carriers that I could use and the dates Dec 25 or Dec 26 and Jan 6 or Jan 7. The cheapest 1 way was $214, plus baggage/plus tax/plus fees...and really none of the flight times were exactly what I want. I can't wait to see what SW has. I am thinking that we are going to have to leave midmorning on Christmas...if we wait until afternoon that puts us at RPR really late...and WE HAVE TO BE IN LINE FOR WWofHP EARLY!!!! I wonder how this will go over with MIL! :headache: Flying out on Christmas Day is about $100 cheaper than flying out the next day.

Guess I just have to wait another 12 more days for Southwest. I prefer to fly with them anyway. Some people say that you really pay for the baggage...but there fares are always SO MUCH cheaper before adding the baggage fees in on the other airlines. I like Southwest too...never had a bad flight with them!

So 12 more days of guessing! Just keep busy!

Crossing fingers that SW will be priced better for you guys. We always go with SW and usually get great fares for Orlando.

Thanks for sharing this... I was about to call and find out if they had any changes coming up!!!

It can sometimes work, and sometimes not. I was watching them like a hawk for our last family trip, and had to play the waiting game for them to release fares. I was watching the current rates and assumed we could get the $89/ea way fare (loosely figuring on $200/ticket). Well, I was also stalking Air Tran. I found fares for $67 and $71/ea way (direct flights, too). By the time I calculated baggage and seat assignments, we were still under the price of Southwest, especially since we only checked 2 bags. I know I was super lucky to find those fares.

Stay vigilant! (and make sure to share if you come across anything!)

Joining in. Luvin your puppy so cute and your movie nights look fab. Do you want to come do movie nights in my house :lmao:

I wish I had more options for flights...SW is our only jet service with American, Continental, and United running only their small planes into Dallas. So SW always is the cheapest for us! I was looking at American one way with baggage included right now is around $289 a ticket! Yikes that is close to what I am hoping to find for round trip! I am thinking we can pack lighter since we are staying at BWV and can do laundry once or twice during the stay.

Just waiting for SW...and some :wizard:

Nothing to report on the WDW front, just waiting for 9 more days for that pesky flight schedule from SW. Still thinking on how I can take a midmorning Christmas flight and still be on a somewhat good side of my MIL...:rotfl2: There was no time for a movie night...as you can see why in the next paragraph, but do not fear we have one planned for Friday night and Sunday afternoon next week!

It has been a long weekend. Boo had 2 friends spend the night all weekend...so 3 boys and a tent outside has been interesting. Friday night we had school night at our local amusment park (they advertise it as the biggest between Denver and Dallas...what you need to know is the ONLY park between these 2 cities...:rotfl:). Then yesterday the boys had a Boy Scout badge day at the local museum most of the day and last night had a Boy Scout cook out where they earned their firestarter kits and tomahawks...spent 5 hours throwing them. Today we got the boys up for mass, then cleaned up the backyard and had a few more friends meet the boys at the paint ball range to celebrate a belated birthday for Boo (his birthday was in February but he was in the dog house and the weather was yucky...so we waited until this weekend to celebrate). Ab invited a friend and one of the dads ended up playing...6 boys, 2 dads, and 2 girls...the dads and the girls were the victors!

I've been MIA so sorry for my lack of comments lately! Hope you can get a better deal with SW. And flying out on Christmas day is cheaper!? Who would have thought. :confused3
