2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Saturday's Question...
What kind of animal sings "When I see an elephant fly" and from what movie is this song?

Trying to do this off my phone in the mountains...I will total up points Monday night! Enjoying the cooler temps...my pillow was actually cold this morning (one of my simple pleasures).

Jim Crow is a crow and it is from the movie Dumbo.

I am always feeding my daughter when you ask the trivia questions. I always happen to be on here...haha This was a great idea you had. Keeps me busy when she falls asleep on me after she eats.

Dinner & a Movie Night
:darth:Star Wars
August 28, 2011

I remember going to see this movie when it came out. I was just about 9 years old...you do the math. We went with the neighbors across the alley from us. It was such cutting edge technology then, and watching it again after MANY years it seems so hockey and silly....but I remember being in total awe when I was younger. The sound track is still one of my favorites. I never really watched any of the other movies, caught pieces of them here and there but sci-fi really isn't my genre. My favorite character has to be CP3O...I think I relate to his personality the most. Young Harrison Ford still does something to this girl's heart...in fact I think he aged to be even better looking.

Activities:

Transporters

Goo and Boo (with Ab's help) made transporters that I found on familyfun.com
Boo hated making these...he got so frustrated and wanted to quit so many times...they are hard to make

Lightsabers & Jedi Training Videos

starwars_saber.jpg

Then the boys and I made lightsabers and watched some youtube videos of the Jedi training program at DHS....guess what Goo wants to do now. So I am going to have to research more into this! The boys took their lightsabers outside and preceded to whack each other...the one time they complained I told them to they had 2 choices...1. Me taking the sabers away or 2. Me going back into the house and ignoring them...guess which they decided was best.

Wookie-Ookie Cookies

StarWars_makingcookies.jpg

Boo wanted to be the chef tonight, so he made Wookie-Ookies (Wookie Cookies). I found this cookie recipe online. It is from the Star Wars Christmas Cookbook. They are so yummy.

Dinner:

Millennium Falcon Wiring with Asteroid Meatballs & Mastafar Lava Sauce
Jumbo Malasrtian Croutons (from Dex's Diner)

Ok so I'm playing catch up and I am majorly behind. Love the Star Wars night, I have it on my list, I was thinking of doing in next May (yes I'm already thinking that far ahead, lol). I was thinking of doing a whole Star Wars weekend like they have at DHS and we'll watch the whole series, so I'm definately jotting down some ideas from you because I'll need lots to fill up a whole weekend! Love the Yoda dessert:yoda:

Look what I found today...

001.jpg

The perfect Christmas stockings this year...since Santa is leaving travel bags instead of stockings! They were only $5 at Walgreen's in the clearance section...and everybody gets their favorite color!

Love these bags! I may have to make my way to Walgreens next week after I drop Christian off at baseball. We don't have one near my house but there is one near his school and even though I have only been in it once I loved it because they had all sorts of Disney stuff (this was around Easter) and it wasn't badly priced :)

Ok finally all caught up. Gosh darn it I missed out on alot of trivia that I knew :sad2:

Hope your having a great time at the cabin!

Me too! I guess I should start checking while I'm at work! I would have hardly any points if I didn't add all the tidbits :rotfl2:!

Sunday's Question
What partially Animated movie was released in 1946 and won an honorary Oscar for the lead actor along with won the Oscar for best song?

Get this movie and you will know 1 of the 2 movies in our double feature this weekend!!!

Song of the South!

This is on our list too, we've riden Splash Mountain many times but the kids have never seen the movie. Can't wait to see what ideas you came up with for the movie!

So thrilled to have found your PTR yesterday. We are suprising our DD 2&7 on Christmas morning as well. I have been looking for a group to plan with but all I was able to find was earlier in Dec. travelers. Going the week between Christmas and new years takes a different approach than early December due to the crowds. We are staying at POR. We are stalking airfare but will be booking regardless of prices soon. We will have an early flight but probably be at MCO for lunch and have ADR at Boatwrights for Christmas dinner. This is our second trip as a family, we went last summer. My DH loves Disney almost as much as I do 8^). I'm potty training DD this weekend (trying to anyway) and have had extra reading time.

Since we have a long weekend and dh's crews finished up with their current floors we are taking off for the cabin. I am so ready to get out of the heat...yes I have been complaining about this all summer and it still has not gotten better. We have set 3 records this week, have temps over 100. When will this stop?

We have a movie night planned and the cousins (remember from this summer) are going to host a movie night at their cabin. I take 3 of the K sisters to school each morning and they are so excited to do this that is all we talk about in the morning on the ride to school...in fact we are going to have a Perfectly Princess movie week during Thanksgiving at the cabins with them. We all usually spend the break at the cabins and having 5 girls makes having princess movies parties a lot of fun then just Ab and 2 boys that are not getting into the idea. The K sisters are going to WDW world in March during spring break for a choir concert.

I'm so jealous! This heat is horrid down here in TX for sure. And now it's really windy and fires are starting everywhere. ugh.

Also wanted to say that I am so jealous of your themed movie nights. I'm trying to get something like that started with my family. So far we did Lion King and I'm trying to decide which to do next. I wont be able to talk the kids into doing a craft project but maybe the dinner and snacks I can.
Anyway...have a great time at your cabin!

Monday's Question:

What movie did both Jonathan Taylor Thomas and brad renfro star in as 2 friends seeking adventure and sometimes trouble?

I know Tom and Huck has been guessed already but I would like to throw out that Rachel Leigh Cook played the part of Becky Thatcher. :yay:

Lion King

Shenzi: Whoopi Goldberg
Banzai: Cheech Marin
Ed: Jim Cummings did the noises since he didn't talk

Great job!!!!

"The hyenas were originally sort of faceless villain," Don Hahn adds. "As we went on, we thought it would be better if we had a leader and a follower, so that's where the idea of Shenzi and Banzai came from. And then we thought that since they were laughing hyenas, we needed someone to laugh at their jokes, so that's where we got Ed. He's named for Ed McMahon, [the sidekick] from the old Tonight Show, who always laughed at Johnny Carson's jokes."

Shenzi (one of the Hyenas): Uncivilized, savage, barbaric (Swahili)

Banzi (one of the Hyenas): Spit [as in to roast on a spit] (Swahili)

Interesting information...4 points...I have to admit that just like the moose in Brother Bear...I kinda like the silly side kicks and their punchlines sometimes better than the main characters!

Sorry I missed the trivia yesterday...

:laughing:Sounds like me missing your pictures all the time!

Great job on your answers....

Most of the other PTR reports that I have been following all have some kind of quiz going on...keeping up reading and following along when there is not much planning to talk about! Since I have been doing movie nights I thought it was appropriate for me to tackle movie trivia!

You are doing a great job moving up in the standings!

I had thought about doing sliders...from Dex's Diner. That is where I got a lot of my ideas from and then wonderful google! You can always do blue milk too (thought about milkshakes...but we already had dessert).

Love these bags! I may have to make my way to Walgreens next week after I drop Christian off at baseball. They are just the perfect size...not too big and not too small...I can see the kids getting a lot of use out of them even after Disney. I love the fact that they zipper! I got so grumpy in the truck coming home today from the mountains...all the stuff dumped out from their bags that do not clothes all over the back seat! Then again the boys dump stuff out of bags regardless of a zipper...UGH

:cool1::cool1: Congratulations! We are still working on perfecting it with Sam!

Now we work on perfecting the tie...but after 4 days of showing him I was pretty impressed with my little toot!

Ok finally all caught up. Gosh darn it I missed out on alot of trivia that I knew :sad2:

Hope your having a great time at the cabin!

Lots more trivia to come!

Point to you!!!!

Our movie night ended up being stretched across the entire 3 day weekend...thanks to the weather, but I am not complaining we need the rain and the cool temps were to die for! I love waking up with my pillow ice cold and being toasty under the quilt!

I'm so jealous! This heat is horrid down here in TX for sure. And now it's really windy and fires are starting everywhere. ugh.

I know...up here in the Panhandle of our great state we spend most of the spring and early summer with OVER our share of fires. We have this nasty thing called wind up here, which thank goodness has died down since July or we would continue to be on fire! A cool front blew in last night and the temp says 83 outside! It was nice to come home from the mountains to cooler weather! The mountains were rainy, overcast and low 60s all weekend with overnight in the low 40s...seemed like a slice of heaven after 100s for the last 3 months!!!!

Getting the 2 older ones to buy into the craft thing has been hard...but they do it with a lot of nagging from me! They like the cooking part the best...I let them make something or all of the meal to go with our theme! And they are enjoying the movies...a lot of the movies it has been ages since they last saw them!
