2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Yesterday's answer was

:woohoo:Way to go Amy (Shocky5), bonus points to Ashley for the names of his friends.

When I think of Dopey I think of my middle sister...her nickname growing up was Dopey. I am not sure why we called her that, but thinking back...it fits! She and I have had a falling out over the last year. Really I have just stopped making an effort to be around her/talk to her (she lives 9 hours away but we always in the past met in the middle at my youngest sisters house). Not trying to air family dirty laundry...it just makes me sad. Everything is about her husbands family, and she only makes enough time for hers when she has too...her husband is very domineering and so is his family...he is a bum and lives off her basically. I really can't stand to be around my nieces :scared1:, they are just not pleasant. To them I am the mean aunt because I expect them to mind and behave. My sister and I have VERY DIFFERENT parenting styles and personalities...I am conservative and she is not, bottom line.

Thursday's Question:

Jock, Trust and Peg are characters from what movie?

I can never seem to get here in time for you trivia...:sad2::sad2:

Course, with Lady and the tramp... ya know what I would do for dinner. (only cause it is so obvious and duh :rotfl:) but spaghetti and meatballs.

And for an activity...

Make Prints

In the movie, Lady and the Tramp put their paw prints in wet cement. Get out some play-doh or play clay and offer your child some items that would make interesting prints. The end of a fork, a jell-o mold, a button with an interesting design and a paperclip would all work well. Let your child discover and explore making prints in the play-doh.

Yep! Amy.... Point to you...still moree points if you tell me the names of his friends, the movie, give me movie ideas, or trivia!

Snow White and the 7 Dwarves (Doc, Sleepy, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, and I'm completely brain locked on the one I'm missing besides Dopey).

One of the teams//towns I played against in high school were the BEET DIGGERS...that is just about as bad!:rotfl:

Oh wow... where Eddie and I lived in NW Oklahoma - we were the Dusters... feather dusters... seriously... they've now 'tweaked' it to be like a dirt devil. Your being from the TX panhandle - I know you know what those are. :lmao:

Amy inspired me to get some character shirts for Ab...we are both gonna see if we can get our teenage daughters to wear them in the park. :rotfl2: Really...trying to see if they will wear them when they get home.

I found this one for Ab on ebay last night when I could not sleep. She loved the Arisocats when she was little....gotta love Marie...EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE A CAT!

I am still looking for a Bianca from the Rescurers in the right color and the perfect Tink shirt...all her favorites when she was little.

For Boo I am looking for a Captain Hook.

Already bought Goo lots of Lightning Shirts.

Getting a shirt for Universal was easy...they all love Harry!

Aw it's cute! I think Erin would wear it so I bet Ab will love it! They both seem picky with their clothes. Love the pink color! Agree though - we will see if they wear them when they get home! :rotfl:

Islands of Adventure
Jurassic Park

When entering Jurassic Park, you will be walking under those famous arches from the movie. If you have not seen the movie, then I suggest you rent it before coming to IOA…you really need the background knowledge for this one (unlike most other parts of IOA or USO). IOA has done a great job of recreating the theme park from the movie before…you know what happened (no spoilers in my PTR). The theming is AWESOME, but Harry has somewhat overshadowed Jurassic Park…how can you hide a HUGE castle?

I know the kids are going to love this area...who does not love dinosaurs!!

Facts: interactive display museum
Personal Experience: B (the teacher comes out in me, hey it is always good to learn even on vacation)

If you have a dinosaur buff in your group, be prepared to spend a lot of time here! The first floor is a gift shop and restaurant (did I mention that Universal does a great job of putting you into gift shops ?). You pass through this area to get to the lower level to the interactive displays…dinosaur nursery, life size skeletons and artifiacts, DNA sequencing exhibit, dinosaur quiz game…fun for the entire family. Make sure you go through the huge double doors onto the patio…it offers some great views of the inland lake!

Facts: Water Ride, 5 minutes, single rider line, EXPRESS Pass
Personal Rating: C+…I think I was expecting more

If you know the movie, you know the ride! Try to experience this ride after the sun goes down, much better effects and experience. The first two rows of the boat will get wet! If you do not want to get wet, try for inner seats on the inner rows!

Facts: Interactive Play area, appeals to pre-teens the most

Pteranodan Flyers

220px-Pteranodon_Flyers_Islands_of_Adventure.jpg

Facts: NO EXPRESS PASS, mild-hanging coaster, 80 seconds (not worth the wait), family ride…if you are over 56 inches you must have a child ride with you to ride (and they mean it...I could not even go in the area to take a picture). This is an EXTREMELY slow ride and slow boarding time...plan to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT.

I think the boys would like this ride, but I am not sure if it is really worth the wait to ride…only time will tell.

Snow White and the 7 Dwarves (Doc, Sleepy, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, and I'm completely brain locked on the one I'm missing besides Dopey).

Does this give you a clue....:goodvibes

Oh wow... where Eddie and I lived in NW Oklahoma - we were the Dusters... feather dusters... seriously... they've now 'tweaked' it to be like a dirt devil. Your being from the TX panhandle - I know you know what those are. :lmao:

Actually, I am not orginally from the Panhandle...I grew up 30 minutes south of Cheyenne, Wyoming on the Colorado side. We had our share of crazy names...never heard of a "Sandie" until I moved here...another one of those duster names! :rotfl: or a "Don"...

GREAT view of JP, my little one is going to flip over the pics. we just found out we may be able to do US/IoA for one day, i am so excited

Another activity for a Lady and the Tramp night playing off Ann's wet cement idea. You could go Hobby Lobby and get the "Stepping Stone" kits and let them each put a hand and their name on one and some decoration.

Great to have you popping in Laurie...missed you. I am sure you have been just as busy and crazy as we all have with the start back of school.

WAHOO...how fun for you all. I LOVE both WDW and USO/IOA for totally different reasons and for the same reasons. I don't understand why people can be such park snobs....:confused3 There is so much to enjoy, why limit yourselves!

Here are the points I awarded (giving everyone points even if someone before them answered...cause Ann can't get here on time...:rotfl: and because it is FRIDAY of a 3 day weekend :woohoo:) Dream426 1 point, Ann 2 points, Ashley 1 point...by the way I love the print idea Ann and Ashley!

I seriously had not even thought about doing Lady and the Tramp...there are so many movies that have a direct ride connection that I have been focusing on them mainly...but I have a few weekends to squeeze some no so big ones in.

I was reading in my "Hidden Magic" book about Tony's and finding the footprint as you walk in the door and then going all the way through the restaurant to see Lady & Tramp eating in the back...will they let you walk through the restaurant just to see this...has anyone seen the statue? Worth my time?

What movie had 3 hyenas? What was the name of each hyena? What is the name the actor that gave the hyena the voice?

You should be able to rack up LOTS of points on this one...at least 7 for just the question...bonus for trivia and such!

Since we have a long weekend and dh's crews finished up with their current floors we are taking off for the cabin. I am so ready to get out of the heat...yes I have been complaining about this all summer and it still has not gotten better. We have set 3 records this week, have temps over 100. When will this stop?

We have a movie night planned and the cousins (remember from this summer) are going to host a movie night at their cabin. I take 3 of the K sisters to school each morning and they are so excited to do this that is all we talk about in the morning on the ride to school...in fact we are going to have a Perfectly Princess movie week during Thanksgiving at the cabins with them. We all usually spend the break at the cabins and having 5 girls makes having princess movies parties a lot of fun then just Ab and 2 boys that are not getting into the idea. The K sisters are going to WDW world in March during spring break for a choir concert.

Lion King

Shenzi: Whoopi Goldberg
Banzai: Cheech Marin
Ed: Jim Cummings did the noises since he didn't talk

"The hyenas were originally sort of faceless villain," Don Hahn adds. "As we went on, we thought it would be better if we had a leader and a follower, so that's where the idea of Shenzi and Banzai came from. And then we thought that since they were laughing hyenas, we needed someone to laugh at their jokes, so that's where we got Ed. He's named for Ed McMahon, [the sidekick] from the old Tonight Show, who always laughed at Johnny Carson's jokes."

Shenzi (one of the Hyenas): Uncivilized, savage, barbaric (Swahili)

Banzi (one of the Hyenas): Spit [as in to roast on a spit] (Swahili)

I dont get the park snobs either, both are so much fun!! My dad does the financials for the company that does the work on the park sculptures for part of US/IOA, so we will be able to go in for FREE! how awesome is that?

busy is an understatement,i have one in tackle football, one in flag football, one in choir and girl scouts, plus work, homework and a husband out of town alot for work.. i try to keep up i do, but dang i cant always get here.

Saturday's Question...
What kind of animal sings "When I see an elephant fly" and from what movie is this song?

Trying to do this off my phone in the mountains...I will total up points Monday night! Enjoying the cooler temps...my pillow was actually cold this morning (one of my simple pleasures).
