Islands of Adventure
Toon Lagoon
Personally, we did not spend much time in this area when visiting in 2010. Mostly because all of the rides are WET ones and getting wet was just not something we wanted to do. I am hoping that we can breeze through here in December, too! If you are a reader of the Sunday funnies, you will love the theming of this island you feel like you are in the middle of one the cartoon panels! Most kids probably do not even know who Blondie, Betty Bop, and Popeye are however!
Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls
Facts: Log Flume Ride, 6 minutes, 5 passenger log, EXPRESS PASS, single rider line if you dont want to take the ride then you can use the water blasters (25 cents) to spray the riders as they pass below you
Popeye & Blutos Bilge Rat Barges
Facts: Raft Ride, 5 minutes BE PREPARED TO GET SOAKED, the heavier the raft the faster the ride (12 person raft), EXPRESS PASS, Rafts have plastic covered bins in the center take off your shoes & socks and use the bin!
People Dryers...
Should you do decided to get wet, they have people dryers?! Here is a picture of my friend Pam (and Assistant prinicpal) clowning around in one. We thought this was so funny, we even paid the money to try it out when though we were not wet.
Me Ship, the Olive
Facts: interactive play area for the kids, great photo area at the top for adults wishing to take great pictures of Dragon Challenge in WWofHP, Seuss Landing, and Hulk Coaster, 4 free water cannons to aim at riders on Bilge Rat Barges
The rest of Toon Lagoon
Character Meet & Greets: Popeye, Olive Oyl, Beetle Bailey, Woody Woodpecker
Photo Ops: Lots of cut-outs that put you in the comic strip look for the trick photo spot involving Marmaduke outside of Blondies restaurant
Restaurants: I have not eaten at any of them but Blondies looks good (overstuffed sandwiches), Wimpys (hamburgers) and Cathys Ice Cream (Ben & Jerrys).
