2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Ack... missed the trivia. Oh well...

And movie night looks great! You always impress me with how much time you spend with the kids on these things...and how much time they are willing to spend with each other. :goodvibes

:rotfl2:Trust me it was no family happiness last night! Ab was not feeling well and I forced her into helping Goo with the transporter while I got dinner ready. Then Boo was taking out everything annoying thing Goo does during their lightsaber battle. During the movie Ab decides she wanted 2/3 of the couch, and the 2 boys 1/3...have no idea why one was not taking advantage of having the love seat to themselves and I pointed out...Boo goes to the love seat then Ab decides the whole couch is her's and stretches out only to annoy Goo with her heat. Finally, Miss Grumpy Pants went to read a book!

:sad2:Sometimes I am forcing family movie nights because I feel we don't spend much time together...Ab is always in her room reading, I am busy doing something, dh and the boys are outside.

Monday's Trivia:
Name the book by Robert Louis Stevenson that Disney adapted twice into movies and name the 2 movies.

Current Standings:
Susan 14
Ashley (lilpixie) 14
Ann 8
Lisa (becc1)6
Heather (monkmon)6
lovthattink 2
Thing 1...2

Funny...I find myself checking into my PTR now a lot more since I started this movie trivia quiz! Thanks Ann and Susan for making me have even more reasons to visit the DIS...you were my inspiration!

Freaky Friday
This is actually the 3rd remake (all by Disney).
First was in 1976 with Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster.
Second was in 1995 by ABC as a television broadcast.
Third was in 2003 with Lindsay and Jamie Lee.

I think it's neat that Disney did all the films.

Wow...I did not know that there was 3...I only knew of the 2 movies. I am adding Freaky Friday to the list of movie nights. I have a few openings in my calendar...maybe the Friday before we leave. Any suggestions on menu or activities?

Kidnapped and Treasure Island--- they are both shots in the dark so I am really not sure..... after I hear the movies though I can give movie ideas!

Depending on when you have this movie night you have a few options. To get into the camp mode of the movie you can either make smores or you can make a smores pie! For the english side of the movie you can have fish and chips (she is from England right? I haven't seen the movie in forever!) and for the California part have some "wine" or sparkling grape juice! For an activity.... have each kid make a "camp tent" out of blankets to watch the movie in and you can have "crafts time" like they do in a real camp and just set out some goofy art things like pom poms and masks and such and have them make whatever they want!

I'm baaaaaaack.

We had a wonderful weekend! I will need to go back and catch up. I did catch the Star Wars movie night! We are huge fans. Going to the big Star Wars Convention in 2012.

I can help you with Jedi Training. Anakin did it yesterday!! He has soooooo much fun! We were not at all prepared for the amount of people there for Jedi Training sign up!! We got there at 9:05am and there was a huge queue. He was THE LAST sign up for the 11:45am show!!! With all the kids in front of him, I thought for sure he would have been late afternoon.

Hidden-Magic-Book-Cover-web.jpg

This book came the other day...I had bought it to put in Ab's travel bag/Christmas stocking...but it did not make into my secret hiding place bin! :rotfl2: I can't put it down! An easy read full of neat behind the scenes information. I have lots of notes and highlights in her book...hope she does not mind!

I can't wait to hear about Jedi training (and your trip)...they boys have decided this is something they HAVE TO DO! Wahoo, that means I do not have to deal with the pirate make up ruining my pictures in MK! :rotfl:

One point for Treasure Island...One Point for Kidnapped...

There is actually another movie...I was mistaken...it is a newer title (last 10 years) and animated!

I was thinking about getting this, but thought against it-- maybe I will rethink it?

These are movies I have never seen I got the answer to the question by cheating and googling it! Okay the treasure island you can make a "treasure dessert" a little like I did with peter pan (put a candy on the bottom of pudding and crushed cookie on top to look like dirt). Maybe for the kidnapped you can play a guess the sounds game and make the kids like they were kidnapped (cover their eyes) and make some sounds for them to guess or you could give them each a map of disney and start telling them go right, left, this that to get to a place and see who gets it right? These are hard movies for ideas because I have never seen them!

The other movie I was looking for was Treasure Planet...

Okay the answer to today's question is......The wind in the willows? Since the movie is about the debted little frog try to play a game that the kids budget but make it fun- like maybe set up some toys and play money or pay for dinner with play money? Or you can give Ab a budget and have her help her brothers find and make a dinner for under that budget? So that would take care of an activity and food. For dessert you can decorate a cookie a cupcake to look like a deed and maybe have a toast like they do in the movie?

These are awesome!! :thumbsup2 I've been looking for bags for the kids for this trip! One more thing to have packed for the travel day so they don't drive their neighbors bonkers on the plane. :rotfl:

I think we should make the t-shirts "what's one more day??" Could also be a stocking stuffer for our DH's!!! :rotfl2:

I knew I had to buy them when I saw them, they are the perfect size to hold not too much or too little...and the price...well that was really worth it!

I basically have everything bought to put in them...execept for the breakfast items, gum, candy, and snacks for the day. Since we are leaving SO EARLY, I figured I would get some breakfast items and put in them...then our 2 connection flights are within an hour after landing...so that means only a stop to the bathroom so I am going to put some snacks in for later in the day. We probably won't be able to eat until after check-in...and I am trying to figure out what will be open on CityWalk Christmas Day. I have a restaurant picked...but I am waiting until end of September when I can book with Open Table to make the reservation and reveal to all of you! More reasons to keep following along. :rotfl:

Okay, I see that hidden in your details is the answer I am looking for almost...I will give you 1 point for the movie and 1 point for ideas. But I need the characters EXACT name.

DH is so picky about t-shirts...he has to have pocketed ones! GRRRR...

I actually made the kids reveal t-shirt today on zazzle.com. I had no luck on the DISigns board for help...so I played around with my picture software and FINALLY got the picture not to distort when I made it bigger on zazzle. I AM SO EXCITED....when I get them I am going to have a teacher at my school tie dye them...she has a side business doing this and I do not want to mess up these shirts. I can't decide on the color...they say 12 days of Christmas on them so I was thinking of red and green...but would the kids ever wear them again if I did those colors...then I thought red for Goo and Ab, and Green for Bo...or should I just do blues which will be perfect in MK pictures.
Any suggestions?

I did not get dh and I shirt. I would wear it, but dh would not so I opted neither of us. I did get the kids HP shirts and me one...I guess I will just find him a plain black tee with a pocket. :rotfl:

Guess who tied his shoe for the first time today, by himself!
