2 Big kids takin on the Wonder and the World Updated 04/15/2008 Sea day take one

Hi Kimmy. I'm late to the Pirate Party but I made it. Do you know if the 3 day cruise has this party too? It looks like so much fun. I'm so excited that they have so many onboard things in the evenings. But I want to come down the zip line and fight Captain Hook too.

Pakey - we did the 3 night in February and they had the pirate party. :thumbsup2

Great update!

When we went on our Disney Cruise our kids were small and they had a pirate PJ party. They drew mustaches on them. Then Captain Hook told them that pirates do not wash their face! Needless to say , my kids wanted to be good pirates so for a couple of days they walked around with a drawn on mustache!

Waiting for more!

Lynn

Kimmy, I have just finished reading your report and thoroughly enjoyed it! We went on a cruise last month, not Disney, and had an absolute blast! I love hearing all about your cruise since it reminds me of mine. Looking forward to more.

Kimmy!!!!

Fun update! Looks like a fun party and I LOVE the pic with you, Missa and Minnie. You two look super cute in your pirate doo rags! Take your time on the report. We'll all be here!

Hugs to you for the stinks of life! We've all been there. We love ya!:grouphug:
Thanks, Monica. I was really hoping to get this done quicker, but at this rate Summer would be nice :lmao:

Hi Pakey. I'm sure you could ride the zip line too, they won't mind as long as you take out hook.

Haha, cute story! I bet they were so proud in those little stashes.

Hi and Welcome! Thank you so much. Are you having the after cruise blues?? I'm still trying to get over it...

Hello Kimmy! Followed you TR linky from Sharky's thread - I'll be back to play catch-up! Have a great day! :)

You're soon off now Kim. How's the packing going?

I'm actually completely packed!! It's the earliest I ever have been. I need a vacation badly, I can not wait!

How about you!?! Your BIG trip is coming up soon.

Obviously didn't get this TR finished as I was hoping :sad2:

I do think it is hard to keep the momentum going with trip reports after the first flush. Life gets in the way and sometimes planning for the next vacation!:)

I would like to bet there are more unfinished reports here than finished!

Yes, we fly 5 weeks next Tuesday! 4 nights at BCV before the cruise. I opanic if I think too much about it. Still don't have a cabin assigned which is annoying, but those of us in the same boat(:rotfl: ) have had a lot of fun decorating our lifeboats!!:lmao:

I really hope you have a fun time on your vacation - it does sound like you really do need it. You can completely immerse yourself for a few days.

Hey, Kimmy!

Somehow I missed this trip report so I'm starting at the end of the pre-trip or the beginning of your actual Trip!

Woo Hoo!!! One more day!

I can't wait to read it -- esp the P&PP...we are going for our first time in May.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP AND BE SAFE!!!

Can't wait to hear all about it! Maybe you can have 2 trip reports going at the same time!:rotfl: I won't hold my breath!:confused3 Love ya Kimmy!

Hi there! Welcome. Hopefully I will get this back up and running again!:goodvibes

LOLOL, nope! You're already off on another adventure! Hope you're having a great time :goodvibes

Okay, as promised I went back through the whole thing - WHAT A GREAT TRIP SO FAR!!! Here are some random thoughts (I tend to go wild on these things - hehehe)

Hey Kimmy n Missa! :yay:

Nice smooth start to your trip and isn’t it cool to pass under the WDW arch :) Painless check-in too – great start! DTD sounded fun and kudos for having the self-control to not spend anything there …hehehe. Score with Rainforest for dinner too!

Dole whips and Wishes over the water – very cool! Good to know that you can’t hear the water pageant music when Wishes is going.

LOL, okay – so the flight wasn’t as smooth as Kimmy might have said ;) Plane rides are always such a trial and I sounded like you two had some interesting moments. I hope it wasn’t too long a flight. But yay for finding the Tink clippy thing :tinker:

On to the cruise! Cool shot of the empty bowling pin pool with the bonus LG family :D And I see you are both sporting LG Ts too! It must have been a great feeling to see the ship come into view as you approached the port. Boarding pass #3 – let’s hear it for being early birds! And wonderful that you got to do some DIS meets while you waited for boarding. :grouphug:

Funny that you got too excited to remember to take pics but it looked like Missa picked up the slack :D And I agree as far as wanting to explore after lunch – I’d love just wandering around the ship. Awww, and VERY cool about all the b-day stuff and the cake in the room. WOW, Very cool door!!! Are those just taped on?

The launch party sounded really cool and neat that the CMs on the shore were there to wave goodbye. I can imagine the tree lighting would really put you in a holiday mood. And that is such a cool concept with your waiter/assistant follow you to each restaurant and MEGA-COOL that you were seated with DISers!!! There’s nothing like having something you’re apprehensive about turn out to be a highlight! :wizard:

Cool to wake up in Nassau and funny comment about the other ships looking ugly – I had just been thinking how drab and boring they look next to the Wonder :) Bummer that you had to walk so far after taking the water taxi, especially after waiting 40 minutes for it to leave! Very interesting about checking in to use Atlantis’s water park – I’ll have to remember that one!

So the water park wasn’t that spectacular, aye? Well at least you got to enjoy a really nice room and had the bonus of the aquarium. Very cool pics in there btw :thumbsup2 And cute shot with the “thumbs-up” frog :D And even though Nassau wasn’t all it was hyped up to be, you can still look back on it as something you’ve experienced.

As far as your dressy outfit I think it looked great and the two of you complimented each other very well in the picture. Hercules on stage AND 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon with your cruise director, who could ask for more! Funky with the power going out …I can only imagine how weird that would be in a dark theater in the middle of a giant ship :scared1:

It sure looks like there are lots of chances for character encounters on the ship. Hey, met the Captain the same night too! Tritons sounded like a lot of fun despite the kid theming – and more Christmas fun :D Loved the pic of Missa with the escargot – lolol

The Castaway Cay day started out good with your mellow breakfast and easy exit from the ship. Too bad about the rockiness of Serenity Bay and the icky water. Very true that the ocean belongs to the critters and we’re just visiting. And with your yummy sandwich I’m thinking you haven’t had a bad meal on your trip at all – Whoohoo!

Thanks for the advice on the beaches and cool hair braid Nice shots of the Dutchman and that is so funny that the bow has Donald painting it while one of his nephews sabotages him – lolol What a wonderful day there – you’ve got me sold on wanting to do the cruise, that’s for sure!

Wonderful shots at the Golden Mickeys! They covered a LOT of ground on that thing. What a fun show but they make you choose between that and Pirate Night??? Not fair! Great pics with the Golden Mickey, Pirate Mickey, and the Mickey Sunset. Just a Mickey night, aye? :D pirate:

Ohhh, okay – you didn’t have to miss the Pirate stuff because of the Golden Mickey’s – just made for a long day! Great party and funny that Stitch :stitch: was part of Hook’s crew …Hehehe. And I had heard about the fireworks show at sea and still haven’t see a picture of them – lolol.

I'm lookin' forward to the next installment :thumbsup2

Hey Mustard, thanks for all the comments! You are a super star.

Thanks everyone for you kind wishes on my latest trip. We had a REALLY good time. Got to enjoy the lovely gardens at EPCOT and attended a Pirate and Princess Party.

I promise, I'm still going to finish this report.

Sea Day! This was another day that I was really looking forward to. No stops anywhere, just floating along in the Ocean. I was really excited about sleeping in, I had been so worried on the past days about being up early so that I could go and play, it was nice knowing there was nothing on the agenda. Of course I start stirring at 8:00AM Nice sleeping in! :lmao: I got up and sleeping Missa was still out cold. I decided to just sit on the love seat and look out on to the Ocean.

I could do this for days
After a while Missa awoke and was ready to go. We put on some comfy clothes and headed over to breakfast. Today we decided to go back to Beach Blanket Buffet (this is where we ate lunch on the first day). After lunch we headed to the adult pool. It was great! Not a soul in the water, was it because it was only about 70 degrees and no humidity :confused3 IDK, but hey were from Cleveland, as long as it's not snowing and the sun is shining, were in!!

As you can see not a lot of pictures, so I'm trying to compromise here!
After about an hour or two, frost bite was starting to set in and we had heard there was a MAD game of Bingo happening that day. We ran back to the room and put on some decent clothes and headed to the Walt Disney Theatre. Every day they have Bingo games and the last game is a pot that keeps growing so that on the last day if no one has won, it's pretty darn big and you play until there is a winner. I wish I could remember how much that pot was, but I do know it would have been a handsome down payment for my next cruise. Too bad we didn't win :sad1:
After the BIG Bingo game, everyone's favorite cruise director, Christiaan was hosting a Q&A with some of the amazing people that really make the cruise happen. It was something I thought may be really BORING, but it was great. I learned a lot and I got to see Christiaan! After that he also hosted a leaving the ship seminar. Something I would highly recommend. It went over customs and the way that Disney ships have you disembark.

Here is the best picture I got (after the seminar)
Doesn't seem like we have done much so far but when all of this was over, it was going on four! We headed back to our cabin, took showers and got ready for the last show and our last dinner :sad1:
When we were finally ready we headed upstairs I was greeted by this BEAUTIFUL site
DSCF2835.jpg

It was breathtaking!
When we made our way to the lobby we ran into my favorite mouse!

Mickey in his formal Christmas wear

I'm going to leave it at this. Sorry about the lack of pictures, this was by far my toughest installment to write. I hope I didn't lose anyone

Coming up... the restaurant that was supposed to be my favorite, and a show that made me tear up!
