Hey Gang,

we are planning a trip with family members that need a roll in shower, we were told by DVC that at BLT, that a Lake view is the only 2-Bedroom Villa – Lake View, Wheelchair Accessible with Roll-In Shower.
Has anyone used this room?
If so, can you please confirm that the roll in shower is in the 2nd BR?

Thank you in advance,

Robin & Angel "D"

The 2 bedroom lake view at BLT was a roll in shower in the 2nd bedroom. The room we had was right off the elevator and had an awesome fireworks view. My favorite Disney memory was our first stay in this room. We had (2) 5 year old girls with us and the minute they walked into the room they ran to the huge window and started screaming. Their mom was still walking down the hall and heard them. She thought something had happened and came into the room in a panic. It was the kids seeing Cinderella Castle out the window and they just couldn’t contain their excitement lol.

With a fireworks view and Cinderella Castle out the window, it does not sound like you are describing a lake view.

There are five rooms that have roll-in showers at BLT. Two lock offs on the 8th and 9th floor. And one dedicated two bedroom on the 12th floor. The roll-in shower in the dedicated two bedroom is in the master bedroom. The guest bedroom has a regular bathtub shower. The lock off rooms have a roll-in shower in both studio and 1 bedroom. The master bedroom of the one-bedroom has the roll-in shower. The second guest bathroom off the living room is a regular bathtub. The studio attachment has both a bathtub and a small roll-in shower.

Your view is a northern perspective. You look out over the parking lot, the woods and the edge of Bay Lake. The portion of the lake where the large friendship ferries dock for the night. You do not see the pool or the electrical water parade.

If you go to the window or stand on the balcony and look to your left you can see Space Mountain and the castle.

Keep in mind there are no other room categories that have roll-in showers. It is just these five rooms in the entire Resort. I own there so that I can book these rooms at 11 months. On the upside I always know my view. The downside is during busy times availability is very difficult. For instance I was able to book October 1st through the 4th in a one-bedroom but I've had to wait list September 29th and 30th. The Star Wars Land opening has drawn a lot of inventory. The end of September is completely booked. That is the first time in five years I've seen that happen.

I also had issues booking the two bedroom for New Year's. Someone walked the reservation and December 30th and 31st were completely booked from the eleventh month opening window of Christmas Day. I was able to grab a one bedroom from December 29th to January 3rd.

Because these rooms are in such limited Supply, do not book it unless you absolutely have to. Those of us who need roll-in showers cannot stay in any other room.

@BroganMc this is such useful and helpful information!! I am in a wheelchair and have just booked BLT for the first time for this July. We are in a 1 bedroom Lake View with roll-in shower. I know this response from you was a few years ago now, but wondered if the information is still accurate? And if I understood correctly, the roll-in shower is in the master bedroom, not the studio portion, correct? Do you happen to have any pictures you could share? We have never stayed at BLT, but are long-time DVC owners. I just like to know as much as I can about my new environment before I arrive.

Thank you so much!
