DH and I are planning our first trip to DL. We have been to WDW many times and we are mainly looking to catch the drastic differences between WDW vs. DL rides (ex. POC, the mountains, etc.) plus anything we can not get at WDW.

We are driving in from Vegas and staying until Monday morning. We are trying to decide if we should leave Vegas on Thursday morning or Friday morning in order to catch everything we would like to catch. Since we are traveling in June and on the weekend, I anticipate crowds to be high at DL.

So - should we plan on 3.5 days to be able to really tour everything? Or can we do it in 2.5 days?

We do not have kids - just 2 adults so Toontown (?) is not something we are overly concerned with. Like I said before we want to catch the rides that are drastically different from the WDW version and anything not available at WDW. I am using Hydroguy's list as a basis to go off of when catching the differences in rides. If he says they are similar at both parks, I am going to put it lower on the priority list.

How long are you going to Vegas for? I would call 3 days there an absolute max.

Are you planning to see all the night shows at DLR?

We are going to be staying on Vegas for about a week - but we are not focusing all of our time in Vegas only. We are going to Lake Mead for a day, Hoover Dam, etc.

My main priority for the shows is WOC. If we can also see Fantasmic, that would be great - but it is not a top priority.

Fantasmic is diffrent at DL and in good ways. I would try and make it if you can...

I would also eat BB if you get a chance...

If you are going for jsut two nights stay at GCH.

I think you could do eitherway if that is three or 4 mornings. If you are instead arriving in the afternoon and calling that a half day then I would for sure stay the extra day...

Of course if it were me I would stay the extra day :-)

IMO more time is always better! We go yearly, sometimes twice per year and take 5+ days each time and it's never enough. But, we are Disney lovers.

If it's almost a week, even considering going boating a day and touring hoover damn, with my experience I would surely move one day from LV to DLR.

If you already have plenty of time in LV why possibly rush DLR?
