Cast: DD6, DW, DMIL, and "the Pup"
Once again it was the 6 o'clock hour and the hot tub was calling my name. Rise and shine, deck 9 awaits! The ship is so peaceful during the early morning hours. I strolled along deck 10 and watched as the Magic sailed into the Georgetown, Grand Cayman Harbor. The harbor is quite a sight. Already there were two other cruise ships at anchor, and in the distance you could see others sailing in.
As the ship was coming to life, it was time to return to our room and see if my family was awake. Sure enough everyone was awake (DD6...well...sort of) and ready for Grand Cayman. DD6 decided she wanted to go to Lumiere's for breakfast. Who am I to disagree! Eggs Benedict, danish, juice, coffee were served. We were pleased to meet our asst. server from last year, Okim. After 3 DCL cruises it's like meeting old friends.
We planned to go on the G.C. Island Tour. After meeting in Rockin Bar D we tendered to the dock. As we followed the "Pumba Paddle" up the ramp someone told us to go to the right, around the gazebo. By the time we walked to the far side of the gazebo, the "Pumba Paddle" guide was gone. 22 of us were looking like lost sheep! Fortunately, a DCL rep helped, and led us through town to a bus area. Unfortunately, all the buses had left, and no driver was available. Within a few minutes, however, another bus, and driver showed up, and away we went. We enjoyed the tour, especially the Turtle Farm. DD6 even held a turtle. We watched as the turtles in the huge tanks were fed "turtle chow". There were also displays of iguanas that DD6 found interesting. We went through the gift shop, and found some Christmas ornaments. Since DD6 already had a stuffed stingray, this year she found a very soft turtle (to go along with her 500 other stuffed animals at home!).She does love them, and at home keeps her own stuffed animal zoo! Next we were off to "Hell". Interesting rock formation. Worthy of a 5 minute stop. As we made our way back to town, DD6 watched school children on a playground. She was surprised that they had to wear uniforms. Overall, a nice tour.
After returning to town, we decided to return to the ship. After a brief lunch, DD6 & DW went to the pool. I decided to return to Georgetown. I had a mission! I was still trying to figure out how to fulfill DD6's fairy fountain wish from Saturday (She wished for a live Guinae Pig). As I browsed through the stores I came upon a stuffed seahorse. This was one of the few stuffed animals that DD6 didn't have. When I returned to the ship I wrote out a message, and proceeded to Guest Services. I asked Anna to perform some Disney Magic! She copied the note in her own handwriting, "Dear Kathryn, Live guinea pigs are not allowed on the ship. I hope you enjoy your new seahorse. Best Wishes, The Good Fairy". The note, and seahorse were covered with pixie dust and magically appeared in our stateroom. Upon her discovery DD6 was thrilled! She told us that the Good Fairy knew best. A seahorse was much better than a live guinea pig! Mission accomplished.
Following dinner we went to see Hercules the Muse-ical. This was the third time we saw this show, and it keeps getting better! Pain, and Panic were hilarious.
After the show we went to Studio Sea for "Mickey Mania". Earlier in the week DW,DMIL and I saw this show, while DD6 was in the O Club. This time we thought DD6 & I might be chosen to be on the panel. Unfortunately we weren't, but Missaugamon & Lara were! Yea! They looked great in their red Minnie Mouse hats. We cheered them on, but unfortunately the fell behind in the last segment. In our minds they were still winners!
Soon it was time for DW, and DMIL to head back to the room. As for DD6 & Daddy...that's right...off to the Goofy Pool stage for more dancing. When we decided we had enough, we made our way back to Mickey's Mates. DD6 had saved money to spend on vacation. She had her eye on the plush "Disney Magic" with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald, but she wanted to check out everything else in the store as well. Meanwhile Daddy found a nice Mickey watch as well. Next, we headed over to Treasure Ketch where Daddy found another watch he liked! "PapaGriz" and I could have made quite a shopping pair!
Finally, it was time to put DD6 to bed. It was a fun day, but now it was time for the Magic to rock us to sleep.
