2/20/11 and 2/24/11 Dream B2B 4day/3day Updated 3/11/11 w/pics

May i ask what time your shuttle was from the Raddison to the port? We're staying there before our cruise in June and we booked the 10:00 am shuttle ...was the shuttle quick/efficient?

How much did the cruise package at the Radisson cost? Was the shuttle free?
We were at Country Inn & Suites, and paid for the shuttle both ways last cruise....

TIA

We were on the 1030 shuttle. They are very efficient at getting everyone on the bus and to the port. The driver used a shortcut and put us ahead of a long line of traffic.

The cruise package was $189 and included the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning. I booked online last Nov for Feb this year. I then called for the shuttle ressies after talking on the DISMeet board about it. DH checked in and was told we weren't on the list, and they gave him a 1p shuttle time. We went back after getting settled in and we were on the list for 1030 after all, and canceled the one at 1p. :confused3 Not sure about that confusion but it all worked out.

And we will not be doing the seafood buffet at the hotel restaurant the next time. It was expensive, and not that good. We will find the Red Lobster :thumbsup2

There was no fee for the shuttle, but DH tipped the drivers, as did most people. And they dropped us off in the parking lot. DH got the bags unloaded from the baggage trailer, moved the car to where the bags were, and we loaded up and were on our way.

Nassau.... Day #2

Woke up early again, and got ready for Nassau. I wanted to go back and find that tee for DS22, and DH wanted to check the carvers again.

Went to breakfast at Enchanted Garden, and were seated in what DH called "the teacup table" Another peaceful and yummy breakfast.

We went out on the island about mid morning. Do you think we could find that shop with the tee again? Took forever, but we finally found it. Then went to DI to get the bracelet and charms :goodvibes We also found an antique shop with some maps, and I got a nice old looking one of the caribbean :thumbsup2

After that it was lunchtime, and we headed back to our new fav place, Senoir Frogs. DH checked the carvers, and got a carved marlin this time. Again, a beautiful piece. We put our name in for a table, and then watched the carvers work as we waited.

There were 4 ships in port that day, 3 Celebrity and the Dream. No yard for me today, but DH got a 2for1 coupon... so I had 1 and they put #2 in a yard for me to drink on the way back to the ship...yeah, are you kidding me? Poured out the drink, and kept the glass when we got back. But no one stopped me walking with an open drink thru town, or back on board. :confused3

Soon it was time to say good bye to Nassau for this trip

Tonight it's Animator's Palate for dinner.

the Enchanted Garden looks very pretty, love the tea cup tables!

Animator's Palate

We head to Animator's at 830. The leaving the room at time, and also staying away from the midship elevators has helped to stay away from the crowds and the lines. And on a side note, I also just can't believe how people are PUSHING to get in a full elevator on this cruise...Not just 1 person, but a whole family will just push on :confused3

We saw the Head Server and he took us right to the table. He then stayed and talked to us about Remy and the shuttle launch. Our Assistant Server already had our drinks on the table waiting. Same table number, in a slightly different location. This time I remembered my camera :thumbsup2

It's so cool to see the kids when Crush is talking to them. They are so surprised, then get into it.

Here is my fav. His joke was "I wonder if clown fish taste funny? Here Nemo..." :rotfl2:
100_0630.jpg

100_0631.jpg

We ordered:

Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes
100_0622.jpg

Smoked Salmon Tartare
100_0621.jpg

Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup with bacon bits and chives
100_0623.jpg

Marinated Angus Beef Tenderloin
100_0624.jpg

Lemon Mousse
100_0628.jpg

Pineapple Financier
100_0627.jpg

And our assistant server was talented with paper. He made lots of things for the kids, but he made this for me that night
100_0626.jpg

After dinner, we went to the gift shop. I saw the silver charm bracelet, and DH bought it for me as my special souvenir. I love it!
100_0635.jpg

We then went to guest services to get the tip tickets, so we could spend a nice day on Castaway tomorow.

Loving your report. We will be on the Dream in June. How much was the carving you have done in Nassau? They look so neat!!! TIA

The starting price was $300 for the parrot, and $45 for the Marlin. DH did haggle and got the prices lower.

The marlin is about 12" long and sits on it's fins on the table. And you saw the parrot is huge, and weighs around 20lbs, solid mahogany

Castaway... Day #2 Our last day onboard!

So it was a beautiful day at Castaway! We docked no problem, and got the all clear. DH and I went up to Cabanas for breakfast. The attack plan for Cabanas is don't go during peak times. Just before or just after rush time, is so much better. We did opt to eat outside again, and not have them seat us inside.

We headed out on the island. Every time we dock, they are doing maintenance. The ship is still new, but they are still doing the upkeep.

As we were walking towards the tram stop, we see this going on. DH being in security in real life, we had to stay and watch for a bit.

Take the tram to Serenity Bay and get ready for a lovely day. Today is bucket list day. The day to do all the things I've been wanting to do. The last day on Castaway the water was chilly, but today it was nice and warm. Check that one off the bucket list, we went for a swim. Not just a swim, a sandbar had made off in the distance, and we decided to swim out to it. The water is so beautiful! I love that I can see the bottom!

After that we enjoyed the sun and sand a bit, ate a late lunch at the BBQ, and headed back to the ship. We had to pack and get the bags ready for the night pick up.

Back at the ship it was all packing and moving out. We packed a bag for the next day as we were headed to Kidani Village for a few days and our kids were flying down to meet us there.

We had a couples massage at the spa. It was the same girls who we had for the couples villas. They said they took us when they saw we were booked again. It was lovely, but the villas was so much better! Next time we agreed, just villas. :teeth:

We had our final pre-dinner snack and cocktails out on the veranda. Then it was time to get ready for dinner at Enchanted Garden again. Also I wanted to check out the clubs, a bucket list thing again.

Did you go out to the sandbar back by the reef on the family beach? I want to go out there too! Did the water on your way out ever go over your head? I didnt see anybody that far out in December, so I wasnt sure they allowed it.....thanks!

No, it was the one that made up off Serenity Bay. It was out as far as the big orange floats. Yes, the water was over my head, but it was so salty, I was just floating along.

I was watching that big stingray swim all around that one you are talking about when I was on deck. I don't know if it's allowed either.

Any chance you have the three night navigators? there haven't been any posted since 2/3. thanks.

I have them, I'll try to host them so they are big enough to read. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Photobucket will make then too small...

Thanks so much for TR. I am doing b2b on the Dream 3/24. Not only no kids, but two different roommates! DH can only do 3 day, so he will leave Sunday and I will be joined by BF :cool1:

One question: what were clubs like? Last b2b we did, 10/10 on the Wonder, nights were pretty dead...

Thanks again!

Well, I hate to say it, but the 2x we went to the clubs, it was like 1 person or 1 other couple in the place. We did go to Pink, it was on my bucket list, and I didnt review it yet. It too was D E A D.

Enchanted Garden and Last Night

Our last night on the Disney Dream. We were all packed for customs, and ready to put the cases out when we got back.

Tonight was Enchanted Garden again. So on these 2 cruises we ate at every restaurant twice. And had 2 See You Real Soon breakfasts.

We ordered:

North Atlantic Lobster Ravioli
100_0643.jpg

Romaine Wedge
100_0645.jpg

Baby Spinach Salad
100_0644.jpg

Caramelized Sea Scallops
100_0646.jpg

Grilled NY Strip Steak
100_0647.jpg

Sweet Temptations
100_0649.jpg

Banana Foster Sundae
100_0648.jpg

They also bring you this, which are candies... I forgot to mention that before...
100_0650.jpg

And our talented assistant server made me a rose out of a paper napkin, and made DH this fish out of a menu. Very clever and funny guy, great with the kids!
100_0651.jpg

Unfortunately things seemed off tonight. Our head server wasn't being as friendly, and the food tonight wasn't as good before. But the assistant server was as usual funny and charming, and we aren't all that picky, so we ate and said see you in the morning.

On to the Bucket List...

I wanted to go to the clubs again, just to see...still dead. Was it that I went both times on Pirate Night? I went after the fireworks, but maybe that was the reason?

Anyway, I wanted the Pink Champagne at Pink. We went in and there were no servers, just a guy at the bar. He was bemoaning the decor...DH chimed in... It's so rosie and pink in there... So, we ordered the drink when the server came back, and then settled in for a long chat with her. I wish I had gotten her name, she was very cool. She was from Norway, and told how she ended up on the ship, and what it was like.

100_0657.jpg

This is the champagne. It comes with a little dessert. Next to it is the paper rose the assistant server made me.

100_0658.jpg

After we headed back to put the cases in the hall and sleep the last sleep on the ship. For in the morning, it was on to Animal Kingdom Kidani Village for a few days with the kids who were flying in.
