2/2-2/6 -- Our first trip with the guide dog **Finally added pictures!**

Gina, I happened to perusing the trip reports, as we are going in 2 weeks, and I came upon yours. Well, to make this short, my aunt and uncle trained a guide dog by the name of "Newly". They are located in Washington, did Newly come from Washington State? It would be amazing if he were.

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures of Newley and Pluto! What a magical moment for all of you. I'm such a Pluto nut, the photos made me tear right up!

It was wonderful to see your Dad and Newley enjoying life!

Thanks again.

*blink*

He came from very close to there... maybe it was there! He was trained by Guide Dogs For the Blind, and Dad had to go to Portland for a month to train with him before he took him home. This was just this past June. Could it be the same dog??

I cannot believe it? Yes, that is the dog my aunt and uncle trained. They got him in Oregon and trained him for a year at their home in Seattle. Wow! What a small world! We have a picture of Newly when he was a puppy. He is the sweetest dog. I am sure your dad will have many great years with him. Wish him all the best from Washington and Oregon.

Hi Gina,
I can't tell you how much we have enjoyed the pictures of our Precious Newley, and your stories of him. My name is Laurie, my husband and I raised Newley until he went to Boring, OR for his more extensive guide dog training. It was such a kick to get the message from my niece that she happened upon these pictures on this site, thanks sweetie for calling me. It certainly is a small world! It looks like Newley and your dad are doing great! Please give your dad and Susan our best! It was so nice to meet them last year, we couldn't be happier for Newley and for them, both. As ever, Laurie :) P.S. When you see Newley again, please give him an extra lovin' for me, and tell him how much he's loved! Thank you, :)

Gina,

I enjoyed reading your logs and especialy the pictures. Our family raises puppies for The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ. We are presently raising our 7th puppy Dante. Our 6th puppy Pirate is going back on St. Patricks Dayand is going to be used in their breeding program. Dogs that we have raised are working in CA, TX, SC and Ontario. It's nice to see the end result of what we do. We hope one of our puppies will go to WDW one day.

I just absolutely cannot believe what a small world it is... this is so incredible!! Speaking from a total layman's view, you guys did such an awesome job raising and training "my Noodles", as I call him... :) He is *such* a sweetheart of a dog, but so good at what he does, too. He has given Dad an immeasurable amount of freedom, and I am so grateful for that.

I can't wait to call him in the morning and point him back to this thread! Thank you sooooo much for writing!!

:goodvibes

Got so excited, forgot to reply to the other message too. :earboy2:

Michelle ~

I know that people like you and Laurie rarely get to see the fruits of your labors, but please know that you are doing more good than anyone could ever express or put into words. I hope *all* your dogs get to go to WDW. :)
