We are in the blizzard warning looks to be 18-24 inches for us. Ugh.

Gina - we live in Cypress area off of 290 and we were planning on leaving around 10am. our board time is at 1-1:30pm. Can we get on ship sooner than our board time.

I'm sure other people here can give you much better answers than I can... DCL wasn't using that system last time we were on the Magic. All I can tell you is what I've read, that if you get there and they're still calling boarding group numbers, you'll have to wait. If it's past like 12:30-ish or so and they've gone to "open boarding," you'll be able to get on. But that would probably be close to your scheduled time anyway.

And that's only been Port Canaveral experience I've read about. You might ask over on the main board and see what other Galveston cruisers have to say!

My son, Chance, will turn 12 the day before the cruise pulls out. (my Valentine baby) He will probably spend most of his time in The Edge or in the pool. I don't think he'll join me at the DIS meet, but I bet he will bump into your son in the club. What's your son's name? I'll have Chance keep an eye out for him.

That's kind of you. My DS is Greg and he's a tall (5'5") guy. Hopefully the edge will be friendly for all of them

Oh my goodness I think my nephew and your son will get along great! They are so much alike! He is kinda shy... but is small for his age...

I'm guessing they'll all have a grand time! Oh to be 11 and on the Disney cruise!

We are from Houston. My DH is actually from upstate NY. It looks like most ppl on here are from up north. You guys are coming from such long way! The weather must be so freezing up there. We only had about 2-3 weeks of what we call "freezing weather" it's been in 70s for couple weeks now and I don't think it will get cold again. There is cold front coming next week so it may be chilly the day we sail. Can't wait, time is totally dragging for me, ugh!

Aw, such a lovely picture! I hear ya, every time my hubby passes through my packing station (the living room) he gives me the crazy look and says, "8 nights Christy,... only 8 Nights". lol

Our doorbell is When You Wish Upon a Star - same as the ship's horn. My husband now rings the doorbell each time he comes up to the front door.

Any other people from the Northeast preparing for the blizzard? I really hope this storm does not end up as bad as they are predicting, but they already cancelled school for us tomorrow. Needless to say, the kids are thrilled, but I am not! Why couldn't this have happened a week later, when we would be sailing away on the beautiful Magic?!

Yes, we are in RI. Most everything here is closed tomorrow and Saturday for the storm. Hoping it is not as bad as they are predicting, but I did my shopping tonight and am now doing all the laundry in case we lose power tomorrow.
I have a concert to go to in CT Saturday night that I was looking forward to, not sure what's going to happen with that...

Cant wait for the cruise! We fly out Thursday.

For those asking about boys (sorry, cant find original posts to quote!), I have a newly turned 8 yo and a 11.5 yo. My 11yo will definately be in Edge- he loved it his last cruise.

My 8yo will be in the Lab (though he's trying to talk his brother into going so he doesnt have to go by himself - would be great if he met some other boys ahead of time) and probably spend a lot of time on the sports deck.

I have a 7yo son who will be 8 in March. Also have two 4yo daughters. They have built in playmates. He will be glad to meet some boys his age.

Beth, my 7.5 year old is trying to convince his brother (11.5) to go to the lab so he won't have to go alone. will definitely have to get them all together ;-)

Good luck to all of you getting nasty weather today and tomorrow! Fingers crossed that it blows in and out quickly and smoothly with no power outages!!

We've been running our A/C for about a week now so I definitely can't complain.

Planning on spending this weekend cleaning/disinfecting the house after our recent bout of colds and that's pretty much it! DH has a few more clothing items to purchase and I may glance around the shoe store before my pedicure on Tuesday just in case I see something I can't live without, but other than that we're done shopping! Oh, sunscreen...someone reminded me that I need to get that too! Forgot who that was but thank you!!

Now it's just counting down the days.....we set sail one week from today!!!

Beth- my son would have slept in the Lab the last cruise if I would have let him. I am sure the boys will have a fabulous time.

I'm not too far from you -- I'm right on the Pearland/Friendswood line just off of 518 & 2351. And Tyler Dean (my DS) is going to be soooooo happy that there are finally more 16 year olds in the group!! (He turns 17 the day after the cruise) Are yours boys or girls?

The last time we were on Magic was in ’08, so he is way excited about getting to be in the teen program this time! Especially after all the pictures he’s seen of Vibe. I don’t blame him – it looks pretty dang cool to me too!
