We won't have the kids with us but don't want to just sit for 2 1/2 hrs. Is there anything close by we can do?

I am afraid you don't have much option other that waiting at the airport. There's really nothing around LGA, and the traffic condition around it is a bit unreliable to risk the possibility of missing flight.

No, by the time you'd "get out", you'd have to turn around to go back. I'd stay within your security area.

What airline are you flying on? Some of the wings have nothing but a very small newsstand and place to get pre-made sandwiches. Sprit, Air Tran, & I can't remember who else's wing is very "bare". The Delta/Song was OK.

Having sat in the United/TED gates at LGA there is little to do (C concourse) - There is a pretzle stand and a stand of Au Bon Pon (sp?) plus a newstand/bookstore. It also has one of the worlds smallest ladies rooms for a major airport down near the end.

Most of the food etc. is on the non-secure side of security.

The Marine Air Terminal (Delta) is a little better.

I agree with Kimberle - don't leave security area - on a busy day it can take over an hour to get back though the lines. Bring a book or try a get a seat near the TV with CNN.

Nope, nothing nearby. Bring book or something. Both Kennedy and LaGuardia leave a lot to be desired in terms of amenities.

And look on the bright side most flights to LGA are almost always late so you may only have 1 hour to waste :D :D
