I have been checking like a crazy lady for Epcot rooms for at least a month and was thrilled a couple of days ago to finally be able to book a 1 bedroom at the BC DVC. It has become a habit to check everyday so tonight when I checked rooms were showing at all the Epcot hotels from Standard rooms to CL ones. We have never stayed in a vacation club room so have decided to stay were we are but if anyone else is looking for a room they are out there!

Is that with Cash or points? If I might ask ? Thanks

That was with cash. We almost always stay at the BWI CL but we wanted to do two days of F&W so no need for CL. Looking forward to what a 1 bedroom at the BC is all about.

Well that's terrible! So Disney will sell DVC rooms for cash before allowing a DVC member to book the room? I have no interest in ever buying into the DVC but was just happy to have a room at the Epcot resort's pop up. We were booked at the Dolphin but didn't really want to stay there so are happy about the switch with the extra room and closer to the F&W festival.

I just posted - last two weeks of October into November! All of sudden there are rooms available!

No.

DVC members own 95-98% of most DVC resorts when they are "sold out". Disney owns the remaining points. Those points owned by Disney are used to "book" rooms, which are then used either when there is maintenance/refurb, or for Disney itself to book out for cash, which helps underwrite operating expenses. In addition, every time a DVC member uses their points for a non-DVC use (RCI trade, Disney Collection/Cruise, etc.), those points go to Disney, and they again use them to "take" availability with those points, and rent out those rooms for cash to underwrite costs of the point exchange programs available to members.

Another way to look at it is that every DVC room is booked on points. The rooms booked on points owned by Disney are then rented for cash to the public.
