***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

@SilSprBea yeah, one of the things I appreciate about traveling solo is it makes it easier for me to justify to myself that the cost is ok since it's just me. This might actually be a negative because I really don't want to go broke!  but I did get one of those chase offers where I can get a $300 bonus for opening a checking account with direct deposit, so I'm viewing that as extra vacay money that I'll get afterwards like a reimbursement. Lol

And, I should also say thank you to @areno79 since the article she shared to me on fb emphasized how solo trips were a great opportunity to do tours! Def had that in mind when I decided to book this! Lol

So I think I'll cancel my Tiffins lunch adr that day. Save a little money and from the reviews I read, the 'snacks' on the tour are actually enough to be a meal. Plus, some of the food might actually be from Tiffins anyway. Now I'll head to Flametree for lunch, or check out the new Harambe Market.

I think the same thing about it just being 2 of us. I can definitely see how a family has a much harder time justifying all the add-on costs of the special events and tours. I can't wait to hear how the tour is! I chose the morning Wild Africa Trek and I did think about switching to the night tour. I think you have a good plan to cancel Tiffins.

DD and I stopped at Kohl's and picked up some cute t-shirts, a hoodies and shoes.
We started breaking in our shoes this morning.

Our MBs went from York to Harrisburg today which is weird since we are in MD and York is a lot closer.

My girls are having a fun day with DH. He took them to see Trolls.

I think tonight I'll make a hot toddy and try to be in bed early.

Thanks everyone for the get well wishes. I got home around 6 and ate takeout hibachi and am on the couch watching Star Wars with a hot tea. I had 3 packages when I get home! One was our custom Christmas shirts, one was our custom Harry Potter shirts, and the other were the magic bands I ordered to use for SDFP's. I'll take pics in a little bit...my phone is charging and I'm too lazy to go get it.
Also, I told DH about the Tusker House breakfast and he seems excited! I think it helps that I told him Donald Duck would be there

Hi all. local martini bar/restaurant closed so we had to go to TGI Fridays for drinks l. DH, visiting SIL, and FIL. but then dinner at awesome sushi/Asian restaurant. BYOB so I'm a little tipsy now.

OMG OMG OMG! I did it! I booked the Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience! Ever since I first read about it I haven't been able to get it out of my head! I kept telling myself that it would be booked up already, and that if RoL ended up actually starting it would probably conflict, but I just couldn't stop thinking about it! So I called up and booked the 4:30 tour in 12/9. And even though it's not listed on the Disney Visa website, it was eligible for that 15% discount! I figure it will include sunset on the savanna during that time, and it's the earliest slot, so that if there is RoL I might still be able to catch it (tour is supposed to be about 2 hours). But OMG I am so excited for this!!!!

Saw an awesome review of this so you made a great choice. we're doing Wild Africa Trek since we have 10 year old.

The good news is when you can't do lots of add ons with kids...the kids never know! We went to WDW for NYE 2000 with an 8, 6. and 31/2 year old. First trip, no add ons, and only a couple of TS,...Sci-Fi, CP...They loved it! to them, the M&Gs, dinner at CP, sci-fi, a day at Typhoon Lagoon...those were the add-ons! Sometimes when you try to pack in activities, it just gets overwhelming. Less is sometimes more.

I am back home after a looooooong afternoon/evening of shopping. Roomie's work is having a conference this weekend, so I was running around solo. Picked up decorations for our resort window at the Hobby Lobby! Got a sheet of window clings and some battery powered snowflake lights with some command hooks to hang them. I also got some super cute Christmas themed thank you cards to use for Mousekeeping tips. I wanted to do candy goodie bags, but the cards were so cute, I changed my mind. I found roomie and I matching Mickey Christmas sweater t-shirts at the Kohl's, and I had enough coupons and reward $$$ that I got them for about $6 each. Lastly on the trip related front (because no one cares that I bought dishwasher tabs and light bulbs) I got a pack of mini M&Ms so I can have the tube for pressed pennies!

I'm right there with you! Been in bed with a fever for 2 days now! I figure it's better to be sick now than 3 weeks from now Hoping we all feel better very soon! Think I'll take some cod liver oil for the weeks before our trip. Ugh!

How loaded down will it be? If you're just carrying some lightweight items (a couple ponchos, a phone, battery, wallet, etc...) it'll probably be fine. I'm not convinced the padding really does all that much most of the time anyway.

Ponchos, battery, bottle of water, and a small snack bag for dd, and one costume (I told her she could wear 1 costume per day). I will carry my wallet and phone in a separate, small purse. I think I need to do a test run.
