***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Haha! Y'all are killing me with the ironing talk. I iron almost every day. I lived with my grandmother for about 8 years as an older kid, (about 8 to 16 years old) and she would lose her mind if we walked out of the house in wrinkled clothes, so it kind of stuck. I'm that nerd even ironing my t-shirts and pressing the legs of my jeans. Basically unless we have company, the ironing board stays set up in our guest room all the time. I will say I have never ironed a set of sheets though!

Hahaha I hate to iron and can count on one hand the times I've taken out the iron in the past 10 years. Funny story though, when my DH moved in he had nothing really (no furniture and hardly any stuff) except a big steamer. I had never used one. It is SOOO much better and easier with wrinkly clothes. I still for the life of me don't undersnd why he bought one but it is better than ironing.

@Lisa F you sound like me last week...working til 10 every night, hating life. :( I hope it gets better for you!

This week was a little better for me at least. Today I got a package from the SVP of the company thanking me for the work I did on the phone system upgrade. The package included a rock saying "You Rock" (cheesy), but also a letter saying I got a $300 spot bonus for all my hard work!
That was a pleasant surprise and certainly made me not want to quit today (every day is a battle with that one.)

Anyhow, today I also got an eBay package with my new Vera Bradley Mickey Meets Birdie mini-hipster and ID case I ordered, and also the sequin ears I had impulse purchased last weekend :) I LOVE the design of the bag, and it's the perfect size. I just wish the straps were a *tiny* bit longer. But, it'll work just fine for the park since DH will have his backpack.

Still waiting for my Christmas shirts to arrive, that I had ordered from Etsy weeks ago. I did get an email today that the seller finally shipped them out, but geez it took long enough.

Oh, and I also started making some of the decorations for our resort window! :santa:
I'm going in a last minute off island jaunt today. At kiddo's ice skating lesson right now the grabbing a ferry . Bf's parents are out of town, and we have all the kids so staying in their house . . . It is much easier to spend time together there than I either of our small apartments. We'll enjoy the real world for a while and go to the mall send see a movie maybe . I left my work laptop home ! Woo-hoo .

Congrats on being recognized. That money will pay for some nice things on your trip !

Happy Saturday everyone, woohoo!

The awesome '10 Tips for Doing Disney World Solo' that @areno79 shared with me in our fb group has inspired me to be brave and think about checking out some nightlife spots on a night or 2 of my solo trip. Does anyone have any favorite lounges/cool spots that they enjoy chilling at in the evening, whether it be at DS, the Boardwalk, or at a resort? I am totally fine dining solo, as my ADRs will attest, lol, but I've never really done this kind of thing solo, and being mostly an introvert, this might be a good challenge to myself for a little bit.

I'm off to Zumba in a little bit :woohoo: And I've decided that, in addition to the cleaning and laundry (but NO ironing!!!) I have to do today, I am going to bake. I love baking and the fall always gets me in the mood! I've decided on a new recipe to try, cinnamon roll apple pie

Hope everyone else is having an awesome weekend so far!!!

I forget your dates, but we always up for a meet up if you want. I'm an introvert too, but there's plenty of alcohol to help with that at Disney. :drinking1 I can't speak for favorite places since this is basically our first trip, but I have read good reviews on Jellyrolls (dueling piano bar) and Abracabar on the BW. We tentatively have a Flying Fish ADR, but I'm not 100% sure about going there. One of the main things I want on their menu is the Peanut Butter Freeze drink that comes with chocolate covered bacon.

I loving baking, but usually on do it once a year when I cook a billion Christmas cookies to hand out at Christmas. I always say I want to bake more. Today I need to make progress on dealing with some of the left over vegetables from the garden. Stuffed Pepper soup and Butternut Squash soup are on my list. :stir: And I have to do a practice run of deviled eggs today. I've never made them, though I love eating them, and I am taking them to 2 Thanksgiving events over the next two weeks. Since I get a dozen eggs a day from the poultry, I'm always looking for new ways to use eggs.

My son is also has autism, an "Aspie". . . even though they deleted the diagnosis from the DSM V, but on the spectrum as well. He loved giggling and saying the term "A$$ Burgers" for a good week after we discussed it:rolleyes:. I wouldn't change him for the world. He really makes me a better person. More honest, and more brave.
You ARE a Super Mom! Hope the wine and the work went well! :D
Kiddo is so aspie too. . . Even though that's not his diagnosis . Super smart . He really is my world but the hardest part is watching him struggle, and not being able to help much . But he is generally pretty happy and we are going to disney ! Are you going to be at jbjb par-tay on 12/3? I bet kiddo would live to meet your son .

Work went OK. Got a kitchen designed so yay !

An angel food cake uses a bunch of eggs (I think the last one I made used 15 med/large eggs - we have chickens too). The cake is pretty easy to make it think but frosting it is NOT fun!

Really?? I love angel food cake! I have to admit, I've only made it from box mixes. Thanks for sharing that. :worship:

Happy weekend everyone!! We just left the house and starting our four hour drive! I have my fingers crossed DS will be ok and just sleep..

I like baking too but really don't do much of it... DH I could never finish stuff I make and I think the only thing I've been confident enough to share is my ice cream! :)

IMG_6337.JPG 28 Days! This time 4 Saturdays from now, roomie and I should be somewhere on the road in Nowheresville, Alabama! Haha!

Today's first mission involved a "found on Google" experiment! We haven't used our big luggage pretty much all year, and it had gotten a little moldy in storage. Google said I could brush off the mold and then rub it down with a diluted bleach solution. So this morning was luggage cleaning day! Looking good, and the colors aren't fading, which means I didn't put too much bleach in! Yay!

YAY for a kitchen design!

My son and I WILL be at JBJB par-tay on 12/3! Absolutely we should all meet! Warning: my son may talk his ear off about Pokemon, Skylanders, Battle Bots, etc. Sounds like a plan! We will be there during the day as well (hoping to do Jedi Training at some point that day).

And the struggle is real--my struggle involves not intervening in social situations unless absolutely necessary. And his diagnosis is either mild autism or high functioning autism, but they sound similar. DS is smart but a bit on the "younger" side of maturity and development. He is a gentle soul who occasionally says very blunt things, though he may have gotten that from me regardless of his diagnosis! ; ))) Look forward to meeting you both!

Almost caught up on the thread, UT I won't have a chance to reply to everyone. have been going through my closets and organizing. have some stuff to give to family, some for Salvation Army, and garbage. feel like I accomplished a little.

Is anyone else as obsessed with watching Disney vloggers on YouTube as I am? I am on there almost as much as I am on here!

Some of my favorite are:
TheTimTracker
DisneyatHeart
GillianatHome
KrispySmore

and many more!

What are some of your favorite Disney vloggers?

I don't watch any vloggers or podcasts
:-(

I'm still waiting for the other Christmasy Mickey head decal to be delivered that's going to go on the other side of the band, but I successfully applied my first decal to my old mb! I'm debating putting a coat of clear nail polish over it, since it has all the delicate antler parts, has anyone had experience with putting that on their mb's? Thoughts?

Looks great! I've never done stickers but I have seen people post that they use nail Polish to protect it.

still working. ugh. want sympathy lol.

Sux! we are lucky to get 1/2 days on Fridays throughout daylight savings time so yesterday was the last one. back to normal next week :-(

Ironing clothes...do people still do that???

I don't do it much, but DH irons his dockers and dress shirts every day.

I'm glad google came to your rescue! Luggage is so expensive these days so it's definitely worth it to clean it instead of replacing it.

Thanks for reminding me. I just told DH to get the luggage from the basement. His response "We have a month woman!" Me: "Actually just 19 days dear." His face was a bit .

Luggage is now in the bedroom...Yay!

I've never actually been to the BW to drink! We always intend to go to Jellyrolls but never have made it on any of our trips!

I didn't get to go to my 90 minute Zumba today :( I woke up with horrible chest congestion and sinus pressure. I was determined to go anyway, and even got dressed and in the car. Then I started coughing so badly I almost threw up, so I decided puking on the Zumba floor may not be the best thing to get me motivated so I skipped it. I have been out running errands, slowly though. I went to the new Dollar Tree on the other side of town and they had some cool Disney stuff! I got Disney themed anti-bac wipes, a couple of small Christmas decorations, and some other random crap I can't remember. I'm also trying to make a Mickey wreath so have been hitting up all the craft stores in town to find the right size wreaths. Oh, and If anyone is interested, my Dollar Tree had tons of Moana stuff!

DH wants to go see Dr. Strange, but I want to lay in bed and watch movies. We'll see how I'm feeling later.

I like angel food too, but don't have it often. instead of frosting it, you can just have it with fruit and whipped cream. or growing up, we used to "frost" it with whipped cream.

I prefer it with fruit and whipped cream, which tends to make it a healthier desert luckily. And if you freeze the whipped cream it is kind of like ice cream.

Aw I hope get you better soon! :flower1: Better now than at Disney, but it still sucks.
