Ironing clothes...do people still do that???

My exact thought! I really despise ironing!

@DisneyBelle27 Thank you for the inspiration! Make me think of the little train that could! We can do this! :flower1: Today, I found a co-worker that is willing to walk three miles during lunch with me.

Hehe, the little train that could. And yay! That's awesome about the walking buddy! :cool1::thumbsup2

My countdown switched over to 19 days 17 hours until we leave! :yay: Still so much to do.

I just finished watching Sleeping Beauty while I was reading up on Universal stuff and stalking Disney ADRs. I needed to brush up on my Maleficent knowledge before Club Villain! :maleficen

Earlier you mentioned needing to figure out when you were going to see Indiana Jones... I'm thinking I need to take a look at my touring plans as well. I was working on them a few weeks ago but got kinda tired and depressed over the sheer size of the task that I had to set it aside for awhile. I think it's time to (you'll love this one) get back on the horse again and make a go of it. ;)

Wow! 19 days!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I need to look at my Universal plans again too... and I need to read the dfb 2016 holiday guide... n touring plans for Disney... lol! You've inspired me to get myself moving on this!

I basically used the TPs to figure out what FP times I should go for. Then I got FPs and never went back to them. So I sure have my work cut out for me there! Plus the MVMCP TP pretty much need redone from scratch.

Get back on that horse! Something I literally need to do as well. It's been too long. Tomorrow I have to trim hooves and that just takes a lot out of me. Even though trimming is a workout of sorts, I need to get in some miles too. Just got a new pair of tennis shoes that need worn in.

Glad to have inspired! My to do list is way too long to even mention. It's embarrassing really. On top of my regular ole farm duties, I'm finding it very hard to manage. Tonight was productive. Oh and I re-watched Finding Nemo tonight as I planned, so I'm ready for Finding Dory tomorrow. I won't get to multi-task through that one.

I would iron for a special occasion except I found this great dress that basically even after being balled up on the floor of my closet could be picked up and shaken out and worn. i'm sure there is nothing natural in it but it looks good lol. I will iron bf's shirt before a special occasion. But other than that wrinkled is fine by me.

We use that wrinkle release spray, but it isn't that great! We can never find the iron when we need it once a year.

Lol! I started with one shirt n one pair of pants for tomorrow and I kept going... :rotfl:

Finding dory is the priority of course! Lol! How is your DH's knee by the way?

I have a long list too! It seems to pile up like my laundry pile! :faint:

His knee is much better, thanks for asking! It's still a little swollen, but he's moving around fine now. :yay: Hopefully we don't have to rent a scooter now. :P

Though our run of bad medical luck doesn't seem to be quite over yet. He was on his last 3 pills of one of the antibiotics and suddenly yesterday it started giving him crazy hives all over! :confused3 He seems to be in the clear now with his knee, so hopefully the 1 or 2 pills that he skipped at the end won't be an issue.

And I had the vet out for 3 animals on Tuesday. A horse, a dog, and a cat. Nothing serious with any of them, but enough to need a diagnosis. Two are on meds and the cat has to get a questionable lump on his head removed 2 Tuesdays from now. :cat:

i had a questionable lump on my head this morning and it turned out to be my cat.

:rotfl2: oh I know that feeling!

This particular cat is my most expensive cat. And by that I mean he was free and gets injured a whole lot! I picked him up about 6 years ago after he got hit by a car and couldn't walk. I thought they'd put him down, but he actually just needed time to heal and medicine. Turns out he has pretty terrible survival instincts, so he can't be an outside cat anymore.

He sleeps on my DH's face, not mine. He likes to sit on my back and give me a little massage though. I prefer that.

@Lisa F you sound like me last week...working til 10 every night, hating life. :( I hope it gets better for you!

This week was a little better for me at least. Today I got a package from the SVP of the company thanking me for the work I did on the phone system upgrade. The package included a rock saying "You Rock" (cheesy), but also a letter saying I got a $300 spot bonus for all my hard work!
That was a pleasant surprise and certainly made me not want to quit today (every day is a battle with that one.)

Anyhow, today I also got an eBay package with my new Vera Bradley Mickey Meets Birdie mini-hipster and ID case I ordered, and also the sequin ears I had impulse purchased last weekend :) I LOVE the design of the bag, and it's the perfect size. I just wish the straps were a *tiny* bit longer. But, it'll work just fine for the park since DH will have his backpack.

Still waiting for my Christmas shirts to arrive, that I had ordered from Etsy weeks ago. I did get an email today that the seller finally shipped them out, but geez it took long enough.

Oh, and I also started making some of the decorations for our resort window! :santa:

Haha! Y'all are killing me with the ironing talk. I iron almost every day. I lived with my grandmother for about 8 years as an older kid, (about 8 to 16 years old) and she would lose her mind if we walked out of the house in wrinkled clothes, so it kind of stuck. I'm that nerd even ironing my t-shirts and pressing the legs of my jeans. Basically unless we have company, the ironing board stays set up in our guest room all the time. I will say I have never ironed a set of sheets though!

I don't need a list, I can sniff it out, lol.

Actually I have gained a lot of weight lately. I had lost a bunch (nearly 100 lbs) before/during/after pregnancy but then my marriage and my life fell apart, my child was diagnosed with autism, ADHD and anxiety disorder and I gained almost all of it back. it's disheartening. I need some time to take care of myself... so right now I should be... I don't know, working out or something, but I am sitting here sipping wine catching up a bit on the DIS before I swap over to my work computer and work for another few hours. I'm far from lazy but just so tired at the end of the day and easy is rarely good for you. bleh.
As someone who works with moms and is a mom, self care is often last on our list. We give so much to our kids, work, partner. It's so important! I'm guilty of this too. I am trying to do one small thing a day for me. I have struggled with weight too, gaining and losing the same 40 lbs over the years.

And yay on money! I'm self employed so I'm lucky my 2 day contract got extended into December! Even though the baby is colicky (always tough) I keep my eye on the prize and if all happens as it looks like the next 2 weeks will be hell for work but then I can take December off (meaning no clients except for my January client who needs a prenatal visit in December, as I have another doula I work with who can work with the client while I'm at disney!

Well I actually found out that I had a lot more vacation time than I thought, so it turns out i will be taking half of december off as well. There is the 4 day weekend for thanksgiving (I had to take vacation on black friday lol), so I'll work a 3 day week, the following week work a 4 day week and leave thursday night for vacation, come back work 2 weeks and then take the week between xmas and new year's off. I feel like I will have earned it!

we could be! I don't know if I answered this already. Work has been so brutally crazy I don't know which way is up. I have brought work home all week and I did this weekend too... it is good for me to be so busy because I'm partially commission based and it means money coming in (good projects too!) but I'm so wiped out... I brought home work tonight but am relaxing with DIS and a glass of wine right now... going over to cape tomorrow to be with BF just to escape for a day. His parents live there and they are out of town so we (and the kids) get their house to ourselves, which is nice because we can all be together without being on top of each other and I will get a little TLC from the bf while the kids amuse themselves (hard with an only child to not be the major source of entertainment).

Holiday were not bad before. It's hard to describe, but I never thought too much about it... about how I was an add on to everything else because I have mostly spent myself being the one behind the scenes who makes things work and run smoothly. But ignorance is bliss and once the dam broke, it was impossible to go back. It is fun being with BF and his family. They actually act like they enjoy having me around! Not that my family made me feel bad but I was just kind of a wallflower and on the outside. It's all about the kids etcetcetc.

But overall I really can't complain about my life. Was just having a bit of a rough spot and a pity party for myself :P But really I am very lucky and grateful for all of the wonderful people and things in my life... my son especially, both for who he is and that the fact that who he is makes him so beloved by teachers and other people who work with him that they are so nurturing and invested in his success. He is really a sweet, smart, funny, amazing little dude and I am beyond blessed that he is mine. Also blessed to have met such wonderful people by sheer luck of all going first week of december. Must be the spirit of christmas :)
Love the Cape (born in Providence, here, used to visit)!
Didn't mean to sound preachy, if it came across that way. Totally get it--and my son is an "only", so totally get that, too. I am glad all your experiences clearly turned you into a caring and insightful mom for your adorable son! :flower1: Our struggles are truly what make us strong. The easy times let us catch our breath! (Preaching again?!? I will stop now).
And so happy all these wonderful people on here were drawn to WDW in Decemberpixiedust: Truly magical place to be for the holiday season.

My son is also has autism, an "Aspie". . . even though they deleted the diagnosis from the DSM V, but on the spectrum as well. He loved giggling and saying the term "A$$ Burgers" for a good week after we discussed it:rolleyes:. I wouldn't change him for the world. He really makes me a better person. More honest, and more brave.
You ARE a Super Mom! Hope the wine and the work went well! :D
