***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Question or thought for you guys ! Reading through I noticed some new ppo adrs people have been adding! It made me start to think about our MK days. Are some of you planning to switch MK days if park hours change? Specifically to 8am? Or are you guys planning to just go with the 8am opening and enjoy breakfast before you head to the rides.
I may have asked this before? But I was just curious. Wondering if I should try to get a ppo for an alternate day.... Or even plan fp for that day too....I just was checking out the wdw calendar, and there are so many 8am days for November
See this?! Too much time waiting means too much time to think about changing plans!!
Next week I'll probably contemplate scratching the whole trip for a. Disney cruise

I'm not switching my days at this point. If MK opens at 8am on 12/5 I'll probably just drop the PPO BOG and go at 8am since we're dining at BOG that night. If I were you I'd keep your Crystal Palace PPO and just enjoy the park after regardless of what MK does. It still won't be super crowded at 9am when you're done eating, and you would have been at EMM the day before and gotten a lot of the big queue rides out of the way!

VENT!!! :furious::furious:
My sister now says she doesn't want to do 3 Christmas Parties!! I clarified that the JingleBellJingleBAM was just an hour and fireworks so she's okay with that. Doesn't want to do 2 MVMCP's even thought they have been on the draft schedule I sent her months ago.... now, I have to decide 12/4 or 12/6. I think 12/6 since it will be less crowded (tuesday) and we are going to EMM on 12/4 so that is the day we will be more tired. Was planning to start with Sanaa lunch around 11:30 on 12/6 and then MK.

BUT, had dessert party reserved for 12/4.....

You've received some great advice but just wanted to say I'm sorry for the frustration! :flower3:

ok.. does anyone else here has FP for character spot at AK? Mine was just changed and moved to an hour before... so from 4:10-5:10 to 3:20-4:20...

We have an 11:40 FP and it hasn't been altered. ;)

@areno79 and @JamieOak Congrats on the ADR swap!! pixiedust: Totally awesome how that worked out!! @JamieOak I'm so curious if you get all your fantastic ADRs via alerts or stalking, or it is pretty much a combination of the two? There are so many! haha ;)

@pigletgirl Your Friendsgiving sounds incredible. So awesome of you to host and to set such an example for your girls.

@rasadkowski Glad to hear you're doing lots of fun family things! :flower:There will be NO MORE SWITCHING of park days for me! Haha...Disney cruise! You're so fun! :-)

Sue, do you have touring plans alerts or *********** alerts set up for this? Both have been very helpful to me these past few days; *********** a bit less so because it just searches for availability during the entire meal period and not time like touring plans does. Unfortunately the date/time you want conflicts with my H&V lunch so I wouldn't be able to pick one up for you if I found it...

I've never used those services. I usually just keep looking and have been pretty successful getting what I want at the last minute. You'd be surprised how many ADR's open up a day or two before. But I know BOG can be difficult to get, so I thought I would add it to the list. :)

Okay I'm going to ask for some logistical help here. I have no idea about distances and travel time at Disney so need to gauge some stuff. Can someone help? (I know there's a Transportation board, but y'all are my homies.)

12/2 - arrive at BC. We plan to grab dinner at the Boardwalk - I know it's walking distance. Is it far? How long will it take? Asking because if DD is exhausted we can just grab something at Beach marketplace but I hear that place is a pretty crappy QS.

12/3 - HS - I know you can walk or boat, and both are about 25 min. If I have a ppo 8:05 breakfast what time should I leave the resort? Do the boats leave from Yacht Club?

12/4 - MK - We have EMM so we want to be there around 7:35am or so to get through security etc. I am debating taking ME or using Uber. How long of a ride is it to MK? I know busses will be running but not sure what the schedule is. I'm thinking it might just be safer to Uber over but not sure what time we'd need to leave BC.

Then after FOF parade we are going to head to the Poly for a break. DD is going to the kids club and we have dinner at Kona. Take the monorail to Poly? We will likely be done our dinner by 8:30pm and so we'll pick DD up at 9pm. We have an early morning the next day so I'm thinking Uber from Poly to BC because I think I'd need to go back to MK to get a bus to BC and that seems complicated after a long day.

12/5 - EASY. Walk to Epcot! We have a 7:30am Cape May but it's at BC so we don't need to leave our room until 7:25am which is nice. Is it about 10 min to Int'l gateway walking to BC? Keep in mind DD is a slow walker. We want to get there for RD to see Joy and Sadness and then plan to work out way to the Land, Imagination, and then cross over to Mexico and Norway, stopping in China and then going back to Int'l gateway for a break. We'll come back for dinner at Katsura Grill - how long should I allow for this? we plan to eat and then watch Illumniations from somewhere in the WS.

12/6 - Epcot again so walking. DH requested we do Akershus lunch instead of breakfast (but I'm still nervous about releasing my PPO breakfast reservation there...I need to get over it). So that reservation isn't until 1:25pm but I have a FP for FEA at 12:25pm so I plan to go to the park for that. I figure we'll grab breakfast at Les Halles on the way in and walk our way over to Norway, meet A&E (again), ride FEA and then eat lunch at Akershus. But other than that we don't have anything else scheduled at Epcot. DD is going to the kids club again and we have a date night. So I'm thinking maybe either going to the park early (like 9:30amish for breakfast) and then walking through WS doing the character meets (Belle in France, Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco, Snow White in Germany, Mulan in China) on the way to Norway. But I'm wondering if this plan is redundant depending on who the princesses are at Akershus (I know Belle is there, and usually Snow White, and sometimes Jasmine and Mulan). I don't want DD to get confused! So I could do the WS on the way back from lunch (I figure done by 3pm) but I don't think that will give us enough time. I'd rather have breakfast in France and work our way over to Norway through WS in the morning I think...it gives us about 3 hours to get there. (I think I had better buy Character Locator from KtP). So then maybe after lunch walk back to Int gateway, drop kid off at club, and then date night (we don't have an ADR - I think we'll just snack around WS and take a more leisurely look at stuff we missed with DD).

12/7 - MK - this is kind of our overflow day for MK - we have FP for HM at 12:25pm so we can sleep in if we want to (and honestly I've left it open in case DD still wants to do the Pirate Cruise in the morning) - since we'll stay for Wishes it will be a late night so I want us to have a relaxed morning. I cancelled my Skippers Canteen dinner so now I'm not sure where we're going to have supper (We'll have breakfast in room and lunch is BOG). I was hoping to get the Plaza but can't seem to get in! Am tempted to book Tonys just because we'll watch Elsa light the castle and then eat dinner but I think the better bet will be to try for Plaza OR walk up to Columbia HH.

12/8 - MK - we will Uber to Poly first as we have 'Ohana breakfast at 10:30am and then monorail to MK? our first FP is Talking Mickey at 12:20pm and then we need to head to Pirates League for 1:15pm. I'm thinking after that we can grab a bite at Pecos Bill and we're mostly staying in Fronteirland area. We have a dinner reservation at 1900 Park Fare and I think @Lisa F mentioned taking the boat to GF. then Uber back to BC to pack up and get ready for early departure the next day. :(

So what do you all think? This was long but I think my plans are FINALLY getting close to finished!!!

By the way... I see this from the 'other thread'

I saw some earlier reports that the parade is November. did they mean November 4?

um. why did you all post about teepublic? :faint:

We love to share ;)

Edit: special thanks to @pigletgirl :thumbsup2

I am so sorry. Are you spending ungodly amounts of time on there? Be careful! Can't say we didn't warn you. ;)

I've spent about 30 minutes browsing and saving some links.... on purchases YET...

This isn't trip related at all, however it is holiday/Disney related. Today, I'm starting to get ready for Thanksgiving. Most years we participate in a "Friendsgiving", and it's really for anyone who doesn't have a family nearby and/or can't travel to go see them. It really varies on who comes. I just learned on Sunday that the original host has backed out due to medical issues. I volunteered to host, and I'm realizing that it's a bit nutty for us to take on.

So, I'm thinking about adding some Disney touches to the meal/day. The kids will have some Mickey crafts, and I'm thinking about making some Mickey sugar cookies or Mickey Rice Crispy treats for the dessert table. After the meal is served, we'll play Mickey's Christmas Carol and maybe Belle's Magical Christmas. We'll have 30 adults and 20 kids, ranging in ages from 11-newborn.

If the weather holds, I may even get a bouncy house. The goal is to keep the kids busy. ;)

But first, I need to pack and get the trip stuff organized. :)

Wow! sounds amazing. I have some serious planning to do this weekend for a group of 11!

Thanks for the advice about MVMCP. I just bought the tickets a week ago.... I'm going to keep them for now and work on her.

Was reading about Tony's town square last night...is it really that bad?? Italian is always a safe bet for DD, and I read they have gf pasta...which is why I made the ADR, but now I'm secon guessing myself. In the past, most of our dinners were QS, so I figured anything would be a step up. Should I just drop the ADR and try to get a table at the plaza???

We love Tony's and eat dinner there every trip.

I'm quite proud of the fact that I managed to avoid ordering anything from there! But then my Etsy order had been getting so big, I just couldn't really afford it! :rotfl:

And speaking of orders, my sling bag arrived today, woot! Seems like it's exactly perfect for what I was looking for. Phone pocket on the chest strap (and my phone fits!), water bottle holder on the side, and good pouches and pockets inside the 2 compartments. And not too big too, since it's just going to be me.

Pretty color!!

@Mintycake .... I'm no expert and haven't been to BC or boardwalk, but for EMM, I think 7:35 is too late. You have to get through bag check and there could be a lot of people for PPO reservations. I was thinking 7:15 at the latest because we will have to park. may actually plan for 7:00. rather be early than lose time.

The tickets are non-refundable so I'm not sure what your alternative might be. :(

They say they are nonrefundable, but I actually had a MVMCP ticket refunded, when I had to change my trip from a couples to a solo. I called Disney up, and very generally explained the situation, in that the other member of the travel party was no longer going on the trip and they very kindly were able to refund the second ticket. Obviously, there are no guarantees, but if it comes down to it, it never hurts to give Disney a call, they can be very accommodating.

Based on my nightmare earlier this week, I'll probably be there at 3am so I don't miss EMM!! :rotfl2:

Ooh, forgot to tell you guys! I ordered the Vera Mickey and Birdie mini-hipster bag last night with the matching zip ID case!
Also, my teepublic shirts came today!
DH's favorite non-traditional character is Gizmo Duck and so I ordered him that shirt:

Then I also ordered our semi-matching Best Day Ever shirts!

Ooh thank you! How long is it from bc to mk? I remember someone saying get uber to drop at contemporary and walk,

I have seen some others post about being able to switch days or politely ask for a refund in extenuating circumstances. I'm going to wait a little while to decide.

We're coming from AoA and I think we'll probably Uber to the Contemporary and walk over. I have no idea what time the buses run, and no way I'm taking a chance of being late to EMM!

12/7--The Plaza has ADRs from 11-12 only...the rest of the day is only walk-up.
