***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

when you have a certain minimum purchase, $50 or $75 or something you can buy that bag for like $15 or $20. I am guessing at the levels based on my hazy memory from 2014.
Really? Still 15 or 20? Lol!

Oh yes there's a friends and family sale happening for Disney store on Nov 10ish? I don't have my card with me but it's 25%off for a few days.

I would guess $15 or $20. it was a different bag 2 years ago lol. something frozen, I got it for my niece. I was sad to miss out on the insulated bags with castle blueprints on them, I think they were only $10 and I paid $30 on ebay after the fact (I have my M.Arch so am crazy for anything blueprint disney). I would guess the totes will be $15-$20 but I don't know for sure.

BTMRR...good thing you traded for that FP!

I am always telling my child when he gets super negative about things "right now you are making a choice to see things that way. You could see things this way or this way or this way but you are choosing to see them the bad way" and that usually makes him think about the choices his internal voice is making at the moment. Too bad you can't say that to a grown man :P

anyway feeling really bummed right now for various reasons so sorry if I am being too heavy or negative.

Very good advice your giving your so if I may say so. We say something very similar to our daughter whenever she is feeling down, or more often when she is nervous (scared) about an upcoming event or challenge that lies in front of her. We tell her to "be the boss of her feelings." Not the other way around. In other words don't let your feelings totally control you and persuade you to make poor decisions. It's ok to have negative feelings from time to time like sadness, fear, nervousness. But she has to be able to know when to say enough is enough and take back control of her emotions.

I remember all throughout my childhood my Aunt had the popular Charles Swindoll quote hanging on her refrigerator door. I must have read it 1000 times growing up and it really did stick with me.

I love your quote. I am far from perfect and have plenty of my own negative 'tude (in fact right now I am doing nothing to turn my current one around.) Hoping to teach my kid better habits than I have I guess. It was great the first time I said that to him, like he never considered he could make a different choice. the light bulb went on.

My mom used to tell me the same thing sort of except it was "you get one poor baby and then get over it". which was not helpful because there was zero sympathy or understanding of my feelings and all it did was teach me how to keep them inside and not burden anyone with them instead of process it in a healthy way. I'm aiming for "process in a healthy way" for the kiddo but my god is it exhausting for me!

I'm sorry to hear he hates Disney. BF is like that, but we have a VERY complicated situation and due to that situation I doubt we will ever travel anywhere together that doesn't involve the children (and certainly nothing elaborate and expensive like Disney together, that's for sure!) until his kids are out of college (the little one is in 4th grade so we have a long ways to go). His ex actually likes Disney and has taken the kids since their divorce (with the help of her parents) and they went a couple of times pre-divorce but he HATES it and is glad to not have to endure it. That's why I don't really spend any time planning when he is around. Over the weekend he decided he needed computer time (he reads tons of political blogs, I cannot wait until this election is over) so I opened my laptop and parked on the couch and wanted to indulge in a little DIS. he came over and read over my shoulder and was like "really? you're reading about DISNEY?" He already cast his vote so I told him me reading about Disney was way more pertinent than him reading about politics :P Anyway it's just annoying to be with a grump. My ex and I did not have a lot in common or a lot of spark and maybe were not right for each other but we both loved disney and he is so easy going he'd do whatever I want without much opinion (which is both good and bad lol). Sometimes I feel like people who don't like Disney DECIDE that they don't beforehand. I don't like this or I don't like that and once they have made up their mind it is hard to sway them even if it's the best trip of your life. I am always telling my child when he gets super negative about things "right now you are making a choice to see things that way. You could see things this way or this way or this way but you are choosing to see them the bad way" and that usually makes him think about the choices his internal voice is making at the moment. Aww, sorry you're down :( Does it cheer you up to know tomorrow is our 30 day countdown?!?!?!:banana:

Your ex sounds a lot like my DH. He loves Disney...but honestly he is pretty easygoing and typically goes along with whatever I want. Which works out well most of the time because I'm horribly Type A and like to plan everything. I do ask his input on big things, but mostly he lets me set the course.

love the tote!! Any idea how much? like $10 would be great but it's disney so I'm guessing $15 or $20 lol

Have not heard yet about costs involved but I bet your $20 guess is correct to purchase with purchase.

I have resisted pre-trip shopping, except for shoes, because I know I will want to spend while actually at Disney!

My DH was fine with our Disney trips before we had kids, but managing tired kids and Disney lines proved too much for him. We only went down to Orlando twice with our family. Everyone was much more relaxed on our beach vacays. DD and I did our spur of the moment girls trip March 2014 because she was complaining that as the youngest, she barely remembered our last trip to Disney. I heard that...my parents took ous to Disneyland when I was 8 and the only thing I can remember is watching the Its a Small World castle when the clock struck on the hour. So we went down for 3 days and had a blast...now Im doing it one more time before she graduates, and doing it right---fp, adrs, dessert parties, MVMCP,and for the first time ever, we are staying in a Disney hotel. Lots of firsts this trip!:santa:

I'm so afraid that this is what will happen to us on our trip. (DH would be overwhelmed with an overwhelmed DS) I'm trying to be positive but DH tends to run home whenever DS gets fussy. Just had an argument with him this weekend about this :( it's our first long trip alone and I'm going to have to pack a lot of patience for this trip for DH  hoping for the best and fingers crossed that my plans will work!!

We made rope drop twice when we went two years ago, once at MK and once at AK. On that MK day it was the first day of our trip, and we hadn't really planned to be there at RD, we just couldn't contain our excitement anymore! We were up like 2 hours before our alarm! On the AK day, we had a breakfast at Tusker House not long after park opening to make.

This time, I think the only RD we'll make will be on our last day at MK, but only because we have to be there at 7:30am for our Marceline to Magic Kingdom tour. Even then, we won't really be doing RD rides or anything since we'll be in the tour all morning.

I'm like you, I'm more of a night owl. I imagine we will be closing parks far more often than we would ever be opening them! Haha!

haha, yeah, even though I've never made RD I still don't exactly sleep in, because I wake up from the excitement, lol. But I'm the same, I figure I'll be closing down more parks than opening too!

I've never done rope drop either! You and I are a lot alike, disneybelle! I plan to do rd on 12/6... Going to hs the day before, and fantasmic should end about 7:30... So early night for us. Flying to Orlando on 12/5, and we will have been up since 5am and we will be tired....and that's the only way we could get up and out so early.

Yes! The only time I'm happy getting up at the butt crack of dawn is if I'm catching a flight to somewhere awesome like WDW! Lol. I might try to make it to Epcot around RD time, just to try to sqeeze FEA in, but it's not a massive priority for me, so we'll see how I feel, lol.

@Lisa F sorry you're having a down time, hopefully you feel better soon!

@Party.Of.4-NY>>>FL awesome quote!

And I'm so sorry to all those with Disney-hating DH's! Lolz. I have had some luck with guys and Disney. My ex-bf I introduced to Disney, took him for his first time there, and he loved it. We had so much in common :sad1:

My ex-husband was also a Disney fan, so that was nice. But, he was pretty much the opposite of an optimist. Everything needed to be complained about, and the grass was always greener on the other side, and everything was always going to go wrong, and everything always had a problem. For someone like me, who is def an optimist, and very much a 'there's always a silver lining', 'appreciate the little things', life's too short to stress over stupid stuff kind of person, it was positively draining. It was the kind of attitude that, once it got going, would sap all my positivity. So yeah, I definitely feel that your attitude is a hugely important thing! Lol

Anyway! When I'm eventually ready to put myself out there into the dating world again, I'll wave my Disney-fanatic flag high, or post it on my online dating profile, if I do that, and hope I find someone else who loves it! And if I find somebody who doesn't love Disney, well, at least I already know I love solo trips to the World! :rotfl:
