***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I think I could give up Sanaa. I saw rteetz predicting 5:30 and 7 for the two show times... I'll never get there on time after CA Grill @5 if that is the case. But on my first day I could probably do a 4:30 Tiffins dinner with package and then not have to give up my MK FP+ and not get "home" too late. Tempted to book a non package and then try to package it if/when they are announced. it would be very early with my 1pm LTT though but if I just got corn fritters and ooey gooey cake and kiddo mac and cheese it would probably be light enough in advance of Tiffins, we would not get to the resort too late either. I wonder what the JB packages were like.
If you really want the bread service, you could get it to go and eat it the next morning! :scratchin

I booked a non-package already (5pm, maybe move it closer to 4:30) but I see a lot of availability for Tiffins still.

To anyone looking for FEA FP, I just checked on Dec 1 and there were SEVERAL times available from about 1pm on......

Oh man, now you have me checking for my Epcot day on 12/7, lol! My Tier 1 fp is currently Soarin' for 11am-12pm. There are FEA available for 7:25pm and 7:40pm for me. I have my CP Dining reservation at Teppan Edo at 5pm and my CP show is 8:15pm. Now, I'm torn. I really really really want to ride Soarin', as it's one of my fave rides and I can't wait to see it with the new film. However, I've obviously also never gotten to ride FEA, and that will be the much harder ride to get onto. Do you think it would make sense giving up the Soarin' fp for FEA? Do you think I'll be able to ride Soarin' easily enough in the morning, without waiting too long, since they've also increased the capacity of that ride? If I do the 7:25 fp for Soarin' do you think that would be cutting it too close to the 8:15 CP show time?

was up at 4:30am thinking about my trip and wondering if now that we are coming in a day early if I should give up Sanaa for Tiffins with dinner package to see RoL on our first night. Of course it is all conjecture. I do not think kiddo would enjoy Tiffins as much as Sanaa and it's not as relaxing a night but it is also the one when we are most free early in the evening. Yes we will be at MK but could drive over to AK for Tiffins dinner too... but I think if the show is at 7 it would have to be 4:30 at the latest for dinner, which is kind of early. I was up at 4:30AM thinking about this argh. anyone else stressing about how to fit it in with no information? :P

Nope. Not stressed about ROL. I have a slot for it in my schedule (for a FP) so if it works out? Great. If it doesn't? No biggie. It took a lot of shuffling around to get there, but it does feel good to have things set up that way. :)

I've read that in the first hour, Soarin will have around half an hour wait times. :) Depends on the day but the waits are not as bad as before apparently. :)

I miss all the elementary years so much!! Particularly on days like today; there are no Halloween parades in middle and high school!

Teachers really set the stage for a child's attitude toward learning, I think. We were beyond blessed with the elementary school as a whole and the individual teachers my kids had. Both were heavily influenced by their teachers and I'll be forever grateful.

We're in the midst of having my DD's senior pictures done. DD commented how she wanted to send a photo to all her teachers at Tobey (the name of the elementary school). That snowballed into what will be a mini photo shoot at Tobey. She'll be on the playground, with the school in the background, wearing her graduation cap and holding a chalkboard sign with the school motto "Once a Tobey Tiger, Always a Tobey Tiger." Oh man....I'm getting all teary eyed just typing this! haha! I'm so emotional about this graduation stuff!

Teachers make a difference!! Thanks to all of you!! :flower3:

Aww, what a great photo shoot idea! Also, I love your Dis costume!

It's funny because middle school was not a fun time for me when I was attending (super shy+nerd, lol), and my background was actually in elementary ed, but I really ended up loving the age group. Definitely a difficult age, but a lot of fun too. I had thought I would hate it, lol.

And Happy Halloween everyone! I am currently rocking my Halloween leggings, spider earrings, Trick-or-Treat necklace, and Halloween charm bracelet in my office today, lol. I am perfectly proud to admit that I am, and always will be, a big kid at heart! Dr.'s appt at lunch, and then I think I'm going to take the afternoon off to continue to recuperate. Will be nice to see some of the earlier trick-or-treaters for once. Anyone else have any fun Halloween festiveness today?
We go crazy for Halloween at my house!! Our house is all decked out (although admittedly not as much as usual because it's been so freaking windy here I got tired of picking up flying decorations! We live in a huge development right outside the city, so we get usually around 350-400 kids for Trick or Treat. They actually have church buses that bring kids here from the inner city! We sit in the garage and my friends are coming over to hand out candy. We eat, drink, and it's just a general good time. Today is one of my favorite days of the year!! ::yes:::banana:

I will tell you that dress code at signatures is probably the #2 hot topic on the restaurant board, with "catering to picky eaters" being #1. Holy crap do both get my goat, especially the picky eater thing since I have one and since it always feels to me like I am being judged for not tying my child to a chair and force feeding him broccoli or starving him until he'll eat it. My personal thing, I have seen him struggle so much to try new things that are challenging textural and taste wise and literally be sobbing because he wants to please me so much and try whatever it is but he just can't make himself that I now feel like I am the champion of every picky eater in the world and can't keep my mouth shut, lol. But I digress.

People will SAY that you should dress up for signatures but honestly, like @LBlovesM&WDW I don't really. I may try to choose a non disney tee and just a plain solid tee instead and I never wear shorts but I might wear the khaki capris I brought ANYWAY instead of the denim ones, and I think I did the flip flop thing I suggested to you (with pedicured toes lol) and just stowed them for later since they are NOT good walking shoes for someone who is overweight with high arches. But kiddo wore his space mountain shirt because he wanted to wear it while looking at it from the same view, lol

so who is gonna tell me that is not appropriate to wear at a disney restaurant? IMO anyone who is noticing what other people are wearing around them is not having a good enough time themselves. The ACTUAL rules are very loose and very common sense... nothing obscene, no swimsuits, no cutoffs (I think they mean daisy dukes, if you turn a pair of jeans into capris and roll the cuffs I think it is just fine) and no tank tops - I am pretty sure they don't mean camis for women either, they mean wifebeaters with hairy stanky arm pit hair hanging out on men. Pretty much anything remotely decent is within the rules and if you feel like dressing up any more than park wear, it is totally at your discretion. Some people LIKE to dress up and are not going to parks before and/or after and so they do and it enhances their vacation. For me it is hassle, lol. We went to MK after so we dressed ready to go :) Just don't ask about it on the restaurant boards!
OMG what a cute idea! I love that he wore what he wanted; he's such a cute kid! And I agree...I think people get too worked up about what other people are doing. As long as it doesn't impact me, I honestly don't care.
My DH would NEVER wear a tank top in public, never mind to a restaurant. He's so shy he wears a muscle tee at the pool and beach. He refuses to go topless; even in our own backyard pool! :rotfl2:

I booked a non-package at 4:30 and at 5:15 (other account) to hedge my bets and hope I can package them up. There was a 5:20 when I last checked and someone grabbed it so I think others might be having the same idea.

Nothing ruffles my feathers more than judgment (which I realize is judgmental of me!) Honestly, I think "Live and Let Live" may be the most over-quoted yet under-used philosophy there is. In my humble opinion. ;) Your adorable kiddo always looks genuinely happy and healthy. To the judge-y people...Ummm, pretty sure happy and healthy is the goal!

i think it is better to FP+ FEA and RD Soarin' but that is kind of tight for getting to CP even with the 7:25... they recommend you are there a half hour before. The waits with FP+ can sometimes be as much as a half hour (friend of mine just was there this weekend and reported that). Since you are a runner if I were you I would be there for RD and walk very fast. You should still only have a half hour wait at FEA and it doesn't impact the rest of your plans. It is hard for me because I have to drag my pokey child and I am not fast myself but for you I think it would be a fine plan.

well I need to learn to 1) not take it personally and 2) keep my mouth shut even if I do, lol. I don't REALLY care what anyone thinks but keeping my mouth zipped is hard!

Hahaha! I've noticed that on the restaurants board :) I think it's great you speak your mind there. But then again, a lot of other people speak their minds there too. Very judge-y board at times but I love the dining reviews!

I am just reading josh's review on tiffins dinner package. If I got the wagyu I'd probably break even between me and kiddo (or even be a few $$ in the hole... but with beverages maybe not) - good deal for me, paying double for kiddo (he'd eat $16 worth of food and package is $32) - he will not touch any of those appetizers and he will not eat any of the sides offered (wondering if i could pay extra for some plain spaghetti with butter as a side to roasted chicken) but he'd probably eat the cake. it would not be his favorite meal but I don't think he would starve either. maybe we could get the bread service to go for a snack when we go back to the hotel. lol.

Does this mean being a girl I'd be able to wear my wifebeater with hairy stanky arm pit hair hanging out!? Kidding btw:D

GREAT picture!! As always, looks so happy :)

we chose to fast pass FEA over soarin' because if we HAD to wait 45+ to ride soarin, we'd be ok with that, but we would never wait that long for FEA. Have a 8:45 for GG, so we will head to soaring right after and hope the line is not too bad. We are also planning on arriving at the park closer to 8:30. I read that they open soarin early for ppo breakfast peeps, so if we are really lucky, we can ride soarin before GG

OMG you guys...I had a very vivid Disney nightmare last night!!
I dreamt it was our EMM day, and it started off with us being late and getting there right after they let the EMM partygoers and the PPO ADR people in...but it was a madhouse!! We were trying to hurry up and get to Fantasyland, but there were so many people we had to wade through them. Then we got to 7DMT and there was a posted 75 minute wait! We decided to head to Peter Pan, but that had a long wait too. I couldn't find Winnie the Pooh, and then when I did they closed it down! We went back to 7DMT and stood in line, and the ride turned out to be boats and it was all people in wheelchairs in front of us that had to transfer. Then we couldn't find our way around because there was so much construction, so we couldn't get to Pinocchio's for breakfast.
After that I woke up, thank God! It was nerve wracking and I kept thinking I spent all that money for nothing.

Yeah, that was my concern. I don't want to be super rushed and stressed about getting to CP late. I think I'll keep Soarin' for now, and plan to try to get to FEA really early, if I make it to the park before opening, lol. And I'm going to keep stalking the fp's in case something at a different time opens up for FEA. And when it comes down to it, I will be heartbroken if I don't ride the new Soarin', but not heartbroken if I don't ride FEA, lol.

I think as long as he enjoys something, it'll be good. but if you could FP it, would you?
