***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

So i was just thinking about how much of a Disney newb. I was when I joined here 6 months ago. Most notably with regard to the acronyms. One of the first posts I read on here went something like this:

"Im so excited!! TP just found me a PPO BOG ADR for our MK day! I've been stalking this ADR since FD dropped. DD will be so happy when I tell her! Figured we will hit 7DMT right after that then maybe try for ETWB."

I remember thinking that this person is obviously happy. But I had absolutely no idea why. The only sentence I understood was the first one.

I have to admit that I almost abandoned this place. Thinking I didn't have the time or energy to learn this new "language"

HA HA!! I know what you mean! I lurked around here for quite some time before I started posting. Even then, I was tentative at first. It wasn't until I started posting on these planning threads that I really got going. Glad you stuck around!

I abandoned all Disney planning for a couple days to start looking at anniversary destinations for dh and myself in 2018. :duck:

That's exciting! :tigger: Where are you thinking about going?

Too funny! I don't want to admit how long it took me to figure out "AYCTE". I mean, I kinda had an idea based on context, but I didn't officially now for...well, it took a while! lol

@Candycane83 Yes, that is from the new Yesake place or whatever it's called. I don't know if I'll like the sake, but the drink sounds right up my alley.

@Maryemcd There are actually plenty of different kinds of shirts on several of the shops. I would need an iron to do it myself, ha ha, and the ability to not screw it up. I'd rather have someone else do the work. I told M that I ordered a bunch of stuff and he never even asked how much--woohoo!

:boat: Has anyone ever taken the friendship boats at Epcot to "cut over" to countries in the WS? I'm concocting a plan where we might utilize this to get over to Morocco/France for lunch. Not so sure it would save time, but I'm interested in saving the steps given our plans for the day. Has anyone done this?

Does everyone know that TP has all the restaurant menus with the snack logo next to those items that qualify. ;) Probably old news, but I had completely forgotten about that until tonight when I was trying to find a comprehensive 2016 snack list. :)

This is news to me. Thanks for posting! My ADRs have pretty much been set for a while and I just recently turned my attention to snack options. I wasn't sure of the best way to research snacks.......until now!

YAY! :thumbsup2 I really wish there was an updated completely comprehensive list but I've not found one beyond 2014. Some of the options are surprising me! Lobster bisque at les Halles for example. ::yes:: Interested in finding more savory options since it seems we have desserts coming out of our ears with the dining plan itself, let alone all the other sweet treats piquing our interest! :cake:

I was randomly checking MDE a little bit ago and scored a 4:00 ADR for Sci-Fi for 12/3!! :yay: I think that time will work out perfectly depending on the time for the SWGS dessert party. I had a 5:30 but was worried it was too late. Now only need the 5:00 H&V for 12/6 and I think I'll be set :)
Oh, except I still need to decide on a place for our last meal. Tragical Express will pick us up around 5:00 on 12/10, but we'll still have all day to tour. Probably Epcot, but I have no idea where to book. I'm thinking a 2:30 lunch/dinner should be good. Any suggestions??

I'm not sure how updated it is though. The problem is DISNEY (imagine that!). They change so frequently, it's nearly impossible for websites to keep up. For example, when I went to wdw in September 2015, the funnel cake with ice cream and strawberries at Oasis Canteen in DHS was a snack credit (one of the best values in all of Disney World!). Then, earlier this year they took all the funnel cakes off the menu and replaced them with a few varieties of chicken nuggets. Then, a few weeks ago, they changed the menu AGAIN, and removed the nuggets and put back the funnel cakes. Unfortunately, the funnel cake with ice cream and strawberries is no longer a snack credit. :( This process is repeated property-wide all year long. Some places don't change very often at all, while others seem to change every few weeks! So go ahead and make your plans, but remember this is Disney we're talking about and they like to throw monkey wrenches into those plans! It's their favorite pastime. ;)

We officially decided to move our gender reveal to 12/4, and our dinner that night is Art Smiths. Because we're all on the dining plan, having a cake is just too much food. So, her OB office is going to call me and let me know either boy or girl (per her permission, no HIPAA violation ;) ). If the baby is a boy, she'll be surprised with the Chocolate Pecan Cake, and if it is a girl, she'll have the hummingbird cake! When my family goes to DS on 12/1, I'll also pick up a small, gender specific baby item (probably a onsie), so she can be photographed with it. I think this will be a nice surprise. She knows we're going to do one, but doesn't know what night....mwhahahahaha. We're mean like that. ;)

I'm trying to firm up my plans so I have some reservations to give up. All are for 3 people:

12/4 Garden Grill 4:50
12/4 Tutto Italia candlelight processional pkg 4:45
12/5 Crystal Palace 3:45
12/5 Teppan Edo 5:40
12/5 Akershus 7:55
12/6 BOG lunch 11:00 GONE
12/6 H&V Minnie dinner with Fantasmic pkg 3:10
12/6 BOG dinner 8:20 (this is a party night)
12/10 H&V Minnie dinner with Fantasmic pkg 3:30

I am in no hurry to drop any of these so PM me to coordinate

CONGRATS on the Sci-Fi!! :yay: Did you see the 3:10 H&V on the cancellation thread? Could that work or is it just too early??

We're currently looking at the various Sandals resorts. We don't even have passports though, so obviously this will be a new experience if we do it!

I don't want to take the thread off topic for long, but if any of you have been to a Sandals resort and would like to share your experience (positive or negative), feel free to message me! :D

Hahaha!! Excellent advice!! I did notice on TP that there is a "last updated" date at the top of the menus. But, yeah, for the ones that tend to change often, that's a challenge for anyone to keep up with. I'll have a rough plan, hope for the best, but plan for flexibility! ::yes:: One thing's for sure, we won't be going away hungry! ;)

No experience with Sandals so no help here. But I literally was just pricing out Beaches this morning. (I think they're owned by the same company). I'd be interested in hearing any input anyone has to offer on either of these.

My TA was just at Beaches Turks & Caicos a week ago and she LOVED it! My sister has also gone to that one a couple times with her family (obviously loved it enough to return).

I'm finding it tricky to whittle things down in Epcot! Talk about open-minded! lol I just googled "Best Epcot restaurant" and this is what I got. Maybe something in here will jump out at you and point you in a direction you want to go?

I think the 3:10 is a bit to early. Unless they decide to do SWGS at like 5:30; then it might work. :)

Oh yes, DH and I have been to Sandals Grande Ocho Rios in Jamaica; we've also been to quite a few all-inclusive in other countries, not just Sandals. Depending on your price point, you may want to consider the Secrets chain as well :)

Cool, thanks!! We already have lunch ressies at GG, but wondering about some of the other TS there too!

Are Secrets cheaper or more expensive?

Hi everyone. My parents have been visiting (I feel like this thread has been going on for long enough that this is the second time I am saying this) and have been in vacation mode all weekend. They are leaving today after breakfast and once again I'm thinking I must be nuts for doing the DxDDP after 3 days of eating out daily both breakfast and dinner. it does make me glad I am doing so many breakfast buffets because I miss the variety at breakfast lol. One last breakfast before they go and then back to normal life. maybe I can catch up a bit.

They are taking so long to release SWaGS I am hoping they end up releasing it for the remainder of the holiday season all at once. Is that too much to ask? I am assuming since I got no PMs they still haven't been released!

I haven't read anything yet, though with the recent hurricane, it may have delayed things. Here's to hoping maybe this week!!
