***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Too funny!!

Speaking of crème brulee.... Tony's has had a pistachio crème brulee on the menu since I was a child. This year they took it off. This made us very very sad. I called Tony's about a week ago and spoke with the Chef. He is going to make it for us!!!

Disney magic at work! pixiedust:
That's awesome!! It'll be a great last Disney meal for the trip!

Wow that is awesome!

I've never had creme brulee and I want to try it. Any suggestions where? I've looked at so many menus by now that I'm not sure I remember if any of our ADR places have it on the menu. We'll be doing a resort crawl to hit up lounges in the deluxes.

Le Cellier has a great maple creme brûlée.

Did a little experiment with ADR's, and thought y'all might want to know (some of you may have already done/know this, but was interesting to me, nonetheless):

So, I have split party ADR's for H&V on 12/5 and I have split party ADR's for H&V on 12/4. I had pretty well decided we wouldn't be going there on 12/4, so I opted for an experiment (I was a laboratorian, and my science brain NEEDS TO KNOW how things work, lol!)

So...I had read (I think from Lisa F), that if you just cancel an ADR, it can take a long time to get pushed back into the system, but that if you make another reservation for the same time, it forces it out immediately. So, I got on my mom's MDE and my MDE and canceled our split ADR for 6:00 on 12/4...I did each step at the exact same time, one on my phone and one on my laptop. I used both to make another random ADR in order for it to push out my H&V immediately (I wanted to see if I could then pick it up for 9). Well! My mom's party of 4 got pushed out IMMEDIATELY, and I could see it right then as available to pick up. My party of 5 wasn't. It told me it would be canceling my H&V reservation since I was trying to make another reservatin for the same time, and I told it to confirm that and it was okay. I kept checking and checking and checking...no party of 5. The party of 4 was still there. I waited and waited and checked again: no party of 5, but the party of 4 was still there. Went back into my MDE and it DID NOT CANCEL my party of 5! I don't know why/how! It had warned me that it would be canceled. So, I manually canceled it...and waited and watied and checked and waited...still party of 4 was there, but party of 5 was not. About 10 min later, the party of 5 showed in the system! They party of 4 was there as well. It would NOT let me book a party of 9, 10, 8, or 7. I could book a party of 4, 5, or 6, but nothing larger. I guess it's two 6-top tables that aren't near each other/moveable? I'm wondering if when we make ADR's, it doesn't just book a random table of however many, but that it goes ahead and assigns a physical table? I don't know. And, it's nothing that will shake the earth, but my curiosity gets the better of me sometimes.

Anyway...just found that interesting, so I thought I'd share. As always, Lisa F was right! With the exception of it just NOT canceling my H&V, for some weird reason (and STILL allowing me to make another ADR for the same time), when I made another ressie on my mom's account, it pushed my current one into the system immediately. When I found my current ADR still in my account and I just cancelled it manually...it took up to 10 min to show up in the system.

So now...I'm still holding onto my split party H&V for 12/5 and hope we are able to get seated together. :) I have one ADR for 8, so I'm real hopeful that adding on one person shouldn't be a huge problem. But going to 9 from 8 is a bigger deal than going from 3 to 4, so I guess we'll see. We're flexible that night, so if we need to wait a while, we can.

Love reading this thread! I enjoy all the warm fuzzies found here! :)

I noticed with some one of the plans that have been posted, that many people aren't spending any time in Disney Springs? Is that coincidence or intentional?

We've always loved going to DTD, and I can't wait to see the changes they've done, not to mention try some of the new restaurants! (really just Art Smith's, the drinks look divine!!!!)

We will be there on 12/6 with a 4:30 pm dinner at TRex and might go to Ghiradelli's for dessert and then will walk around. We love the World of Disney store.

@Maryemcd How about a list of 101 things? :D Although pretty sure @Candycane83's awesome list came very close! ;)

Kind of fun to have a visual! ::yes:: I've not seen many of the things I've read so much about.

Great find @Talby :thumbsup2 now i can add more stuff to my list!!! LOL! Totally missed the soft serve in France. It gets rave reviews as the 'best' ice cream from some people on the boards :) I actually want to try a cake pop too, never tried one yet for some reason:confused3

Edit: @JamieOak theres crime brûlée at les Halles too!

@tacboze I noticed the same thing about the system not cancelling even after you agree to cancel so you can book new reservation at the same time. That happened to me the last 2 times I've done it. Had to go back and manually cancel. Hope it works out for you! I would think going from 8 to 9 should be easy - hopefully they can just add a chair to the end?

I came across this trying to find more info on the sandwiches at les Halles. Aside from the amazing-looking treats, I think some of the sandwiches look spectacular! :thumbsup2

ETA: I hadn't heard that about the soft serve in France yet! I do know my list has grown by leaps and bounds after reading the one you posted and this one. Hard enough trying to decide ADRs--choosing snacks/treats might be even harder!:hyper:

Totally agree and must say, love the drinks too! We don't usually drink too much but hoping we could get a drink or two or three... during the trip :rotfl2: seems like les halles has a lot to offer, as does karamell kuche... that salted caramel covered smores look amazing... (I started following the guy on Instagram, lol)

LOL! I don't drink much either, and my eyes may be bigger than my stomach AND my alcohol tolerance level. I need some sort of plan, or I'm going to end up drunk and stuffed our entire vacation! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: We can be drunk and stuffed together! Just kidding!

I would make sure to eat enough before drinking, that's for sure ;) and I would probably be more careful with picking my drinks since I can only handle so much. I have dole whip with rum at AK, margarita at Epcot on my list... and maybe a lapu lapu if I'm feeling adventurous enough at ohana ;) how about you? Any particular drinks you want to try?

Speaking of cancellations i still have the 3:25 h&v! Dinner for 4 on 12/8 if anyone would like it

LOL...Sort of imagining a big group from this thread stumbling around MK, trying to compare our laminated plans and complaining about how full we all are!! :lmao: Honestly, I'm such a light-weight anymore when it comes to drinking that our Disney trip probably isn't the best time (for me) to start whooping it up with cocktails! haha So many things just sound SO appealing! But I don't want to risk being hungover (which will not take much!) and trying to ride RnRC the next morning. Can you even imagine?! I am very interested in trying the Dole whip with rum though! And I think a glass of wine with BOG dinner sounds heavenly. :cloud9:

You're too funny! :rotfl:But you know what, I can totally imagine what you're saying!

yes I imagine RnRc and ToT would not be a good idea if you're hungover! I had a little too much to drink our last trip at a F&W event (I drank my share of wine along with half of DH's share too!) and a regular nap after fixed me. :rotfl2:Unfortunately, after having my little one, I haven't drank in a while so I doubt it wouldn't take much for me to nap with my head in the toilet now. :crazy2:

Has anyone tried dole whip with rum before? It sounds interesting and not too intimidating... hoping someone can give us a little review here popcorn::

Never had it! But it has to be better than the house red I had at our local Italian restaurant for dinner tonight... Should have got a Shirley temple. Dole whip was already on my list of must tries. I'm thinking Dole whip with rum has earned the number one spot!
