I noticed with some one of the plans that have been posted, that many people aren't spending any time in Disney Springs? Is that coincidence or intentional?

We've always loved going to DTD, and I can't wait to see the changes they've done, not to mention try some of the new restaurants! (really just Art Smith's, the drinks look divine!!!!)
I'm spending time there! one evening and one morning... Want to try a lot of food there as you can see from my list above! LOL

EDIT: ooohh, and we're trying homecoming kitchen too!! plus the boathouse :)

My small amount of DS time is just based off inexperience really. The one thing I remember from DTD on my last trip is the Adventurer's Club, which is no longer there. I was bummed to learn that becuase DH would've loved that I think.

Id love to check it out!! But our days are filled with park days... We arrive at 10 am or so, so I thought we could go there for the day before our chef mickeys dinner. It depends on the weather really :) my girls would really love to spend the whole arrival day and then our only free morning at the pool :)

I'm one who isn't doing DS. It's just a timing thing. I would love to go (I might be able to squeeze in a quick visit 12/7 which is our late start mk day but depending on what time they open.) But in honesty I don't want to deal with dd going nuts in the shops.

I'm a total shopaholic, so if I go get a taste of what's there, I'll definitely need to see all of it! Then I'll be frustrated that I don't have time to go back another day to do that. The whole trip I'll keep telling myself that I must have missed out on the greatest purchase ever because I didn't get to finish browsing the shops. So it's just best that I avoid it all together :)

@Candycane83 - thank you so much for helping me overcome my laziness by giving me an awesome starting point for snacks!
:thanks:

Have a couple of time blocks for Disney Springs depending on how we feel - for SHOPPING of course. I love World of Disney and a couple of the other unique Disney stores. Won't do any "regular" shopping.

I have a question about talking mickey fast passes. I'm having doubts about one. I made one for my Monday in the Magic Kingdom (it will be the busy day that touring plans says is 9/10 crowds). I had initially decided that day to try for the Rapunzel fast pass, but as we all know they are not available for some reason or another. So currently that day I have:
  • Talking Mickey btwn 9:40-10:40 (for 4)
  • Splash Mountain (11:15-12:15 for 2 and we will rider swap since my DS can't ride)
  • Big Thunder Mountain (11:50-12:50 for 2 and will rider swap since my DS can't ride)
  • 7DMT (6:15-7:15 for 4) before our BOG dinner. We are riding 7DMT by day another time.
We are doing a ton of character meals (Chef Mickey, Garden Grill, Akershus, Disney Junior, Tusker, Crystal Palace, Ohana) so we will meet many, many, many characters. I'm wondering, should I leave Talking Mickey? Should I try and replace him with Rapunzel if that ever becomes available? My daughter loves Rapunzel but we will meet a lot of princesses at Akershus + Frozen + Ariel at her Grotto + Belle at Enchanted Tales, so maybe we don't need to waste a fast pass on Rapunzel either. Would you all replace that FP with another ride? And if so, what with?

On our MK other days we have fastpasses for: Tomorrowland Speedway, Ariel's Grotto (so we will meet her too), Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan, 7DMT by day, and Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Thoughts? I've heard Talking Mickey is so special but wonder if we could just SDFP that and focus on another ride that day?

I'm hopelessly far behind in these pages. My 2 cents on talking Mickey...we were just there in April and DS6 (he was 5 at the time) is a huge Mickey fan. We didn't have a FP for talking Mickey and we waited about 45-60min to meet him. My son was amazed. It was so worth it. However, I wished I had done the FP or gone 1st thing in the morning (think we got to him at 1030am). He never asked why the other Mickeys didn't talk luckily bc I don't know what I would've said. Lol

We are planning to go to DS for an evening this trip. We went in April too and ate dinner and walked around. The first year we went with kids we skipped it, but that was during all the construction.

We're not planning any time at DS this trip. On our last trip we stayed at POFQ and took the boat to DS on our arrival day for a few hours. We had a good time there strolling around and looking. We were trying to stick to a strict budget on that trip and we had to resist the urge to spend much money there. Can't really find anything bad to say about it.

In fairness there was still a lot of construction going on there in 2014. I'm sure it's very different now.

We are DS fans! :) We have a visit planned from mid afternoon until probably10ish. TREX was requested by DS, so a late lunch there. Cirque du Soleil was something we all wanted to do, that's at 6:00. Earl of Sandwich/Wolfgang Puck Express after (sharing things to try more variety). A visit with Santa. :santa: We'll do some souvenir shopping at World of Disney. Meandering. :) Ghiradelli!

@pigletgirl Love the cakes @Candycane83 posted pictures of for the fun reveal! For whatever reason, I keep thinking of one of those cute Mickey balloons in either pink or blue. It could be hidden with a large bag over it until the time is right. Not sure if you'd want to incorporate something else aside from the cake, but just though I'd mention it. :)

is

SNACKS: popcorn:: I love everything (once again! lol) that @Candycane83 said! :) Something we really want to try that's not really a snack, but that we'll turn into a snack by sharing, is the chicken schwarma at the Tangierine Cafe.

We are definitely taking some time in Disney Springs. We plan definitely on our "rest day" to go. But also thinking if we have enough energy some nights, we might head down there after we leave a park. Also have plenty of time on our checkout day to go. I used to work there on my College Program so I am very excited to see all the changes they've made. Also, a shopaholic!

@BDFmom I saw creme brulee coffee creamer at the store this afternoon and thought of your DD! haha :) Y'all are starting to pop into my thoughts in "real" life! :rotfl2:
Too funny!!

Speaking of crème brulee.... Tony's has had a pistachio crème brulee on the menu since I was a child. This year they took it off. This made us very very sad. I called Tony's about a week ago and spoke with the Chef. He is going to make it for us!!!

Wow that is awesome!

I've never had creme brulee and I want to try it. Any suggestions where? I've looked at so many menus by now that I'm not sure I remember if any of our ADR places have it on the menu. We'll be doing a resort crawl to hit up lounges in the deluxes.

We're focusing most of our time at the parks. However, we are at MK our last day. It's a party night (no parties this trip) so we're leaving after the parade. Since we don't have hoppers we are going back to our hotel (POR) for a rest and then the boat ride to DS for dinner. We are planning on Wolfgang Puck Express. I haven't been to DS in years but am excited to let the kids see the lego sculptures (hope they are still there at the lego store), eat snacks, walk around, and just buy souvenirs one last time (we leave the next day after a mid morning final character breakfast). My DH hates shopping so one time to DS is his limit, LOL! I think our kids will really like riding the boat over there.

And @BDFmom i love that the Tony's chef will make the pistachio creme brûlée for you. That is so cool!!!

That is the best news and so exciting!! So cool! Hmmmm.....with all this magic around here, makes me want to call and see if I can extend our stay free of charge or something! ;)

That sounds like a great plan and I bet your kids will love the boat ride! That's such a great perk for POR/POFQ peeps!! :boat:
