***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

@Candycane83 I love that idea! Amorette's also has the 72 hour policy so I'll make a run to DS on 11/30 and place our order! Even if RR doesn't allow us to bring it in, we could still have our celebration that evening after dinner! My parents are renting a 1BR in Kidani so we'll have place to store it as well. :)

Y'all are my brains this morning!

@pigletgirl You could also just have a cake sent to a resort room. It could be a more private (with just the 12 of you) event and you could get tons of pics in possible better lighting (restaurants can be so dark).

That's another great option! I'll have to think this over...

Is Holiday WISH! firework occurring every night or only during MVMCP party night?
Just during MVMCP until the week of Christmas. :)

I could try and make a google doc with my spreadsheet format if that'd help you! Glad to help. If I can't bring any actual Disney advice to the table, I can at least bring my anal retentive spreadsheets and organization tactics! :cool2:

I am in complete adoration of that spreadsheet. If you could manage to create a google doc, I'd be incredibly grateful. :worship: But **ONLY** if it doesn't take much time, really! You're a lot of fun and have great ideas--you bring lots to the table! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone. Been busy the past couple of days and have checked back here periodically since then but I missed a lot. This thread moves really fast! I think I'm about 12 pages behind. I left off with @Lisa F posting her touring plans which made me realize that FP+ are best used in the middle of the day when parks are busiest. Thanks for that. I will use that strategy on Tuesday when making my FP+.

Also well done on that ADR swap by @Talby and @JamieOak!!! :thumbsup2 I recently transferred a BOG dinner ADR with someone on the cancellation thread and it was a great feeling when it worked. Definitely worthy of a mini-celebration :mickeyjum!!!!

Also (a little :offtopic:) but does anyone have any plans to order a :cake: while at DW? I called the cake hotline to inquire about a cake for our anniversary dinner at Artist Point and ended up ordering a replica of the top tier of our wedding cake. The process was really simple. Also considering something for our CRT dinner. Was thinking something simple for this. Maybe chocolate slipper for DW and cupcakes for DD and DS.

Is anyone celebrating any special occasions while at DW? Who am I kidding? Just being at DW is a special occasion worth celebrating! :smickey:

It always stands out to me when a man cherishes his wife. ;) Kudos to her too for being so cherishable! :)

We are celebrating DD's high school graduation! She had celebratory options presented to her, one of which was a family vacation to the location of her choosing (in this country! haha), and she chose the family vacation and picked Disney! (That's my girl!! lol Totally up to her but I"m so glad that was her pick!) There will be a cake delivered at her #1 ADR dinner choice. :cake: It's also a celebration of the end of an era! We've been the 3 musketeers for a long time and it's going to change in some ways when DD heads off to college. Don't really know what to call that, but we're celebrating us. :grouphug:

We're celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary:love: Hadn't thought of ordering a cake, but it's a great idea! I'll have to look into it. While I'm on the subject - and you ladies are so creative:) I've been considering making a shadow box of sorts, but I'm not very artistic / creative. My husband proposed to me with a disney coin which I still have so I'm sure there is some great creative thing I could do with it. Any ideas?

Congrats on your 25th! That's a beautiful milestone. :love:When you say shadow box, do you mean you would want to put other things in it? Or are you looking for a way to showcase just the special coin? If the former, my first thoughts go to one of those framed shadow boxes that can be hung on the wall. Maybe put that coin front and center, with various photos/small mementos spanning your lives together over the last 25 years. I LOVE this kind of thing! They make special little plastic case thing-a-ma-jigs for coins (though not sure of the size of the Disney coin?). Once it's protected in that little case, double-sided adhesive velcro would be strong enough to affix the coin to the shadow box. Sorry-don't remember if you have kids? If you do, maybe copies of birth announcements/newspaper birth clippings, some sort of special-to-you-as-a-couple trinkets (wedding program? ticket stubs from a special trip?), a photo from your wedding day, early and recent family photos...and then that coin right in the middle of it all, where it all started. :) Sort of telling a story of your 25 years.:lovestruc If you're looking to showcase just the coin...maybe google coin display boxes to get some ideas. :) Or I imagine Pinterest would have lots to look at too! :magnify:

Ohmygosh @BDFmom! Your plans look AHHH-MAZE-ING!! :rockband:

It's updated with what I currently know I'm looking for. The most elusive has been needing a dinner on 11/30 and I've been looking for BOG or CRT. Now I'm opening that up to looking for an early Ohana dinner. That would be convenient if we take the monorail system straight from EP to MK I think. I currently have an early Ohana on my last day, but I'd cancel that and instead gladly hit an Epcot restaurant on our last day for dinner instead.

I currently have 8 browser tabs open that I click search on throughout the day. It might be getting a little less fun because I haven't had a hit in a little while.

Wow - 8 searches at a time, that's awesome.
Love your spreadsheet! I did mine a little differently with only Morning/Afternoon/Evening and Bfast/Lunch/Dinner. I need to add my FP to it. I'm doing all of the detailed attraction planning in TouringPlans.

Back to the shirt buying conversation from whenever it was. Today I bought 2 on etsy and am in conversations for about 5 more. I need clothes to wear, don't I? I may have gotten M to agree to match one day, but that isn't definite yet.

I'm doing some Etsy shopping this weekend. I'm not big into t-shirts, but that awesome tie dye one that @Lisa F posted would be great for my newphew.

Just another itinerary if anyone would care to critique! We're late park goers if you can't tell! I'm posting my major plans (ADRs and FP) but of course there will be other touring at the parks. Not going to list every attraction we want to see (would be too boring) LOL. Things that are bolded need opinions please!!

Sorry @chasingthtdream08 - I've never been to the places you are debating for your ADRs.

Congrats @Talby and @BDFmom for the successful ADR swap. This group is AMAZING!

@Party.Of.4-NY>>>FL I thought about a cake but since I'm planning on 2 dessert parties and trying a bunch of other treats.... I put it out of mind. Let us know what you pick. That is cool that they could replicate your wedding cake! (I'm a winter anniversary too - end of January)

For Epcot, I've been to all of the countries twice, but haven't really spent a lot of time in them! This time, we're definitely having snacks/treats in multiple places, drinks in multiple places, and I'm going to let my nephew buy a candy/treat in every country (to take home!!). In January, my husband and I got drinks in 5 countries and I want to do that again, especially since I've learned about even more awesome drinks that we missed.

Who can post a snacks and drinks list again! I need to get mine down in one list ;-)

I almost switched up a bunch of stuff this week, but I resisted!!! I do have probably 5 ADRs to cancel. I'll check out the spreadsheet this weekend and post here first.

Speaking of Etsy, my sister (not the one going with me to WDW) has an Etsy shop where she makes fabric wristlets, wallets, and bags. She can use any fabric and even has two Disney-inspired keychain wallets. If interested, you can check it out: https://www.etsy.com/shop/EarlyBirdStitches?search_query=disney

It looks like you are doing a lot of hopping at night. Wouldn't it be simpler to schedule the night entertainment in or near the park you are at during the day? Or are you planning to go back to your hotel in between?

I think I just have one hop a day....

No plans to go to the resort in the afternoon. My teens will want to go go go. I'm the one that will probably get tired. If I do I will plant my self on a bench and rest allowing them to go off and explore.

I'm sorry, but I can't imagine a 9/10 day in the beginning of Dec. Those numbers are more like a day or so before Christmas. Also, with the way the summer and fall has been with low crowds, I just can't. There seems to be a lot of construction at the resorts which makes it seem like it's so crowded, but in reality, many rooms are out of stock. As for your FP+, I think Talking Mickey is pretty special, but I also wonder how it goes when children ask why he doesn't talk elsewhere. I can't be for sure, but will Splash have that long of line in Dec when temps can be anywhere from 30s-70s? I didn't FP+ it, I'll just do stand by or SDFP if I venture into that.
I hope you are right about crowds! And as for talking Mickey no experience but seems special. For those in the know, if your kids meet characters multiple times (ie Cinderella at akershus and 1900 park fare) they will likely be played by a different cm. Did your kids catch on and if so how did you explain it?

Lol I am just lazy and try to minimize too much travel between parks. I also don't have hoppers.

DD6 didn't catch on to that while we were there on our last trip. She did comment on it after we returned home and we were looking at photos from our trip. She met several princesses twice and held the pics. side-by-side and was able to tell. There weren't any huge differences between the 2 Cinderellas, 2 Auroras, etc. So DW offered the explanation that maybe Cinderella did her makeup a little different that day and that's why she looked a little different(lame excuse but that's all we could come up with on the fly).
I don't think DD bought it, but she didn't pursue it any further.

The spreadsheet was created before I knew about touring plans, which I've made good use of also. What I really needed was to see visually where the late nights were and early mornings, and then see how the spacing was between meals. It was getting a little tiresome having to count the hours between each time over and over. I think that's part of the problem of missing the 180 ADR day and now I sometimes have to take some meal times that I can get instead of having planned it out earlier.

I've seen people just print their TPs for each day and laminate them on smaller cards. If you wanted to take something physical with you, but since you can access them on the app that isn't necessary.

Im all frazzled that I can't keep up with all the great stuff thats going on with everyone !
We're having major renovations going on in the house, and the place is a disaster! Other than making sure the kids are safe, I keep moving my computer to shelter to ensure full access in the event that something major is released:thumbsup2

There's a SciFi for a party of 2 at 11:35 am on 12/2 available right now.

Thanks for the great idea @Talby! I was thinking of a shadow box. I like your picture idea. Now to dig through photos! I have searched for a disney photo frame that I could turn into a shadow box of sorts or one that is at least deep enough to hold the coin. It's about the size of a silver dollar. Anyway - I appreciate the idea:)

you know I've been singing this same tune myself. Also another thing I have noticed... with fastpasses, the parks FEEL a lot more crowded even with lower wait times. I think that is in part because people are out and about wandering rather than stuck in line all day.

I noticed with some one of the plans that have been posted, that many people aren't spending any time in Disney Springs? Is that coincidence or intentional?

We've always loved going to DTD, and I can't wait to see the changes they've done, not to mention try some of the new restaurants! (really just Art Smith's, the drinks look divine!!!!)
