***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I made this mistake the night before my FP morning! I blame that on why I ended up with a list that had me making a FP for both RnR and GMR at HS (both are which Tier 1 as I quickly found out trying to book my list!). :rolleyes1
Lol! if it were just FPs I would be ok since I know that's fixable :p

And now I am about to see at least a few of my hard-earned ADRs hit the floor. Been telling roomie since we started that we had a s***ton of meals, not all cheap (Hello, CG brunch, CP package, and F! package), and I felt like I was painting a pretty clear picture. Actually sat down and planned out a cost analysis, and it was $200 per person more than she was thinking, so we're gonna have to make some cuts. Excuse me while I mourn my beautiful brunch...

Once we decide what has to go, I'll post here first to see if anybody wants them.
I feel ya. I'm going to be dropping a bunch too as soon as I do my FP+. Then the next step will be to see if the Dining plan will save me any money. I did a first blush at it before and it was really close (within $40) but we have SO many character meals and my DD is in the sweet spot (age 6).

Well, I'm so depressed over everything today that I'm back to thinking about dropping our dining plan upgrade (we're on free dining, but staying at AoA so that means quick service unless you pay to upgrade, which we did). I just see us doing an awful lot of park hopping and I think ADR's will really hold us back. We'll keep our Tusker House breakfast, but otherwise if we drop the upgrade we can afford more extras (possibly 2 MVMCP's AND 2 EMM's!). Those things sound like more fun than an ADR at Tutto Italia or whatever. :charac2:

we are at a mod... I have often thought that A QS plan would be sooooooooooo much easier. Just book a couple of TS and then be free.

If a value was available when we booked i would have taken it!

ok here is my HS day (our first park day). Here's what I have...thoughts?

8:05 am H&V breakfast and sign up for Jedi Training (I heard you can sign up before you go to the restaurant - not sure if this is true. But since it will be on a EMM day, I figure Jedi training will be open for those folks anyway. I'm hoping it won't impact the wait too long).
9am Toy Story MM - standby. May stop after to see Buzz and Woody - or would you reverse this? Thinking of possibly meeting character first and then doing TSMM with FP+
10:30am Star Tours (FP+)
11:00am Mickey Meet and Olaf meet
11:40am Jedi Training
12:40am Lunch (Backlot Express)
1:30pm Frozen sing along (FP+)
2:30pm Great Movie Ride
3:30pm Little Mermaid
4:15pm 50's Prime Time Dinner
Launch Bay
Star Wars dessert Party

We really want to do Rock and Roller Coaster and Beauty and the Beast too...but not sure where to fit in and I'm not sure how long the shows are. I feel like I can't fit everything in? We're fine with skipping Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones, Disney Jr and Muppets.

2 EMM and 2 mvmcp sound so awesome. I can't remember, but are some of your kids a bit older? We have a ton of character meals just because my girls are 4 and 6 and have never been to Disney. I don't think we'll be back until middle school. But, if they were a bit older, I'd definitely prefer the flexibility of qs meals. It's all I did when I was a kid... Plus, these new places like flametree BBq and all the fun snack options at Epcot really sound enjoyable

You are starting to make me feel better about this idea! :D I figure, we can go with the plan to just do quick service and then if we get toward the end of our trip and we're all getting really tired of it we can book some of the cheaper restaurants as last-minute ADR's. I should have a list handy though, just in case. I'm thinking about some of the cheaper breakfast buffets (The Wave, Captain's Grille, Whispering Canyon aycte skillet, Boma, Trail's End) and some of the cheaper lunch/dinner options (Trail's End, WCC, LTT, Via Napoli). I'm just guessing we'd be able to get a reservation at most of these places the night before or so. We might need to be flexible though as far as timing.

Yep, dd16, ds15, ds9 and dd8. The only one even remotely into characters is dd8.

Drat!

Fast Pass day in Saturday.... Can't wait. It's all getting real.

I also plan on decorating the windows in POFQ. We are celebrating my son's birthday and thought he would like it.
On that note. Has anyone sent a package to themselves ahead of time. I would love to have send something for him to open. It will be something small like a shirt or decals for his magic band. I thought he would get a kick out of a present waiting for him (from Mickey of course)

I'm feeling better and better about giving up our dining upgrade. It was going to cost us over $1000 including the gratuities. That's enough to cover 2 EMM's or almost 2 MVMCP's for our whole family! So yeah... I think we'll enjoy the freedom of eating when we're hungry and having more qs credits we can convert to snacks when we want to go that route.

the other thing is that you can buy adult QS meals with DD's QS, so if she is not into the kid meals so much but might be into adult choices, it gives you more flexibility at lwoer price.

your'e going to have a great time. it is easier for me to splurge on dining with just kiddo and me because my entire splurge for the entire cost of dining with tips for the whole week is $1k. That's eating 2TS a day. But we all have to make budgetary decisions and there are a million ways to vacation. I wish I could fit EMM in but it just ruins our flow so... maybe some other time!

ADR availability I've found this morning that doesn't work for me:

There is a California Grill for at least 2 people available on 11/27 @ 5:35pm

This is exactly why I'm considering it. Especially since we can swap out desserts for drinks/snacks - DH and I usually share a dessert if we order one. And it makes sense with our character meals. Quick question! You get credits for every NIGHT you stay at Disney resort on the plan...so I am staying 7 nights I get 7 TS, 7 QS and 7 snack credits per person, right?

Yes, that is correct. It is based on nights booked. Not days there.

yes it is by the night. and it is active from when you check in until midnight of your checkout day.
that's how I am spreading my 4 nights of DxDDP credits over 5 full days/10 meals.
