***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I have 8 costumes for me in my Kohls cart right now! :rolleyes1

All I really want is something to wear to the Renaissance festival. But knowing how hard it is to find things that fit, I might have to order 8 just to find one that fits and return the rest.

ok now that I have swung this thread WAY off topic time to bring it back on topic.

Is anyone looking to rent a car? I'm using alamo because people on the transportation board highly recommend it. They have online check in which will allow me to bypass the counter and they had decent rates when I first booked for a midsize car ($209 for 8 days... adding that extra day was a killer lol). Then recently the midsize SUV came way down in price and it was only $244, for the $35 more I was going to treat myself. I just started perusing the DIS transportation board and there is a december car rental deals thread there - I was playing with some of the codes there and got my rental down to $194!! i'll take the $50! If princess was ok with a smaller car it would be a lot less but princess wants comparable to what she drives at home. It IS an AP code but kiddo has the AP and I paid for it so I feel comfortable using it (I will make sure to have his AP pass card with me to show if I need to... sometimes they don't even check) but the rest of the codes were only about $10 more than the AP code.

is anyone else renting? princess does not do buses ;) towncar plus a few ubers and it's about the same.

luckily kohls is awesome for returns. just no kohls on the island so it sucks for me :-p but since there is no deadline i can return when i am near one.

THIS princess prefers to let Disney do the driving. ;) Honestly, traffic stresses me out and it's one thing I look forward to the most at Disney, not having to drive or help dh navigate! We considered a rental for a quick trip over to meet Hope and Winter (the dolphins from the Dolphin Tale movies) but decided it's just going to have to wait for another trip. Glad you found a deal on your rental though! Woohoo!

This princess prefers to have a chauffeur. I'll use Disney transport and Ubers.... Probably more Ubers than buses. I hate buses!!! The only buses I will probably use are to MK....

I don't want to have to worry about parking and then walking from those huge lots.

i learned to drive in NYC and have control issues. but also considering town car and uber but town car with tip is only $40 less. I may want to hit the disney outlets one day if there are reports of great dooneys there and with my planned days if driving to ak maybe x2 and Disney springs and luggage moving of makes sense I think!

This princess' prince prefers to drive all the way from home (I usually fall asleep for most of it). Anyhow, we sometimes don't drive to MK (such a pita), but we drive everywhere else.

Oh and great deal on the rental!

we are boat/monorail from 3/4 parks and will be at AK so early we'll park close (and then late in the day and should also be able to park close).

I looked up rental car prices last week because we do have multiple taxi/uber trips budgeted in. But it seemed the price was still a lot higher than I could justify. We won't get to take advantage of the Magical Express at all it seems due to going to Universal first and then going to stay at the Marriott at the airport our last night instead of a Disney resort.

These are the times that we will need some sort of transportation:
- Marriott hotel by airport to Universal hotel
- Universal hotel to Disney hotel
- Possibly taxi/uber to AK on the morning of our 8:00am Wild Africa Trek
- Possibly taxi/uber to MK on the morning of our EMM
- Disney hotel to Marriott hotel by airport

I have that estimated at about $200 total for all of those rides.

Non driving here also! Love being in the Disney bubble and letting someone else do the driving:) When I arrive and make it to ME I feel like I'm in the disney bubble:) Right now I'm thinking we will also uber to / from AK and MK.

You'd probably be spoiled at Universal where it takes 10 mins or so to reach the parks. I'm thinking this and EP is the downfall of staying at Universal first.:rotfl:

I'm a taxi kind of girl, but my husband always calls uber. Apparently I'm just not cool anymore

:rotfl2: This cracks me up!

oh yeah, I'm already aware of that downfall! But I did actually research it before I chose and overall the concensus seemed to be that you'd be disappointed going from disney to universal. Plus those first 2 days are going to be high crowds at either because of Thanksgiving weekend, so I'd rather deal with that at universal with EPs!

Is the disney site down again, or is it just being finicky for me?? I got a Tusker house breakfast ADR and now it's not letting me search for ADRs. It better not give me that "simmer down" message! :Pinkbounc

It's still searching for me... but I noticed that you need to refresh a couple of times sometimes before it actually searches...
