***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Hey everyone! Hope you all have been having a great weekend!! I took a small break from planning mode :) but now I'm BACK! I've been diving into the wonderful world of fp+....
I came up with a few questions, and I was wondering what you guys thought. Some things are .really specific so I apologize in advance for any anal-retentiveness :groom:

I know I should probably ask fp questions on the fp thread, :( but I wanted so see if someone here happened to know before I posted there :thumbsup2

- I'll be visiting AK the morning of the MVMCP. I've thought about making 3 fp just for MK in the 4-7 block. BUT I'm trying to be flexible in case I can't get certain fp for days I'm planning. In the event that I decide to book my only TWO fp that I would like that day in AK, can I then go on mde immediately after my second AK fp is used to book a 3rd fp for whatever is available in MK? ( between 4-7) Then once at MK and did 3rd fp, can I try for 4th?

OR would I just be able to do my fp in AK, if I choose, and just wouldn't be able to try for fp in MK?

-I was able to watch an updated mde page of someone booking fp on YouTube so I can know what to expect. I noticed that when someone goes to book a fp time ( say 12-1) the system pops up with a message reminding you of your "other plans" that day; i.e., reservations. My question is, say I have a reservation for lunch at 12, and maybe I even have another one booked for 12:45 as a backup....either way, will the mde fp system NOT let me book the fp time (12-1) for a ride if the fp time conflicts with a meal reservation? I realllly hope I make sense!! :scratchin

-when I am booking fp, I understand it is best to try to book hot rides first. I would for example start at day 6 to try for fea. Can I just book that one ride on day 6 for the moment? I would then go to day 2 ( for example) and book another hot ride (7dmt). And so on.... I guess I'm asking if I can jump back and forth just picking one ride per day or do I have to " finish" or complete booking my 3 passes for the day before moving to a different day?

- which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Thanks everyone!!! :yay:

1. I do know that all of your initial 3 FP must be used in the same park. You say there are just 2 FP that you want in AK, but I would just go ahead and FP something, anything, even if you set it up and allow it to expire. And the earlier the better! That way, after that expires (or you use it) and you use the 2 FP you really want, THEN you can schedule a FP for another park. You may make your 4th FP for MK while still in AK AFTER all of the first 3 are used/expired.
2. Your question makes perfect sense, I just have no idea as I have never made FP before. Shoot--sounds like they didn't cover that in the Youtube video? :( (hoping to watch some of these tutorials this week!)
3. I recently read on one of the FP threads (and other places) that you ARE able to jump back and forth when scheduling, so I am pretty sure that would be a yes and certainly hope so because I plan on it for my FP game plan! :)
4. Team Chicken!! lol

Okay, actually, according to post #4 of this thread, you do NOT have to use all 3 fastpasses in the first park. Great thread to check out for info on hopping! http://www.disboards.com/threads/fp...rk-hopping-additional-tier-1-booking.3538258/

:bday:

What a fantastic birthday present!!

Finally Disney got it right!

What great news!! I'm really excited for both of you pixiedust: what an awesome surprise!

Thank you!! :) The only downfall is we had to make a choice between Africa Trek and the dolphins. Boo! :( My budget just can't handle both. But it was unanimous and everyone is very happy. Of course, that means some more :badpc: But, hey, what's one more round at this point? ;)

THANK YOU!! I have asked and asked and asked about this when I call Disney and they all say the same thing...that all 3 have to be used in the same park! Ay-yi-yi! o_O SO SORRY @rasadkowski! I was SURE I had at least that much figured out!

This is so interesting because I was just about to go ask on the fp thread, and the previous post this morning that was right before where mine would be had asked the exact same thing! So random. But, yes, for anyone else wondering, your adrs do pop up as what you have planned for that day but it does NOT affect fp booking. You can continue booking your fp :thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

Thank you, both!! I really appreciate it :daisy:

I'm truly stressed about our FP day coming up! I'm stressed i've been tempted to make an additional reservation for a week prior to our actual arrival to open the FP booking window. I just doesn't feel right. My TA is convinced that regardless my FP will only open on 9/28 or 60 days prior to my pakage. She does not think that we will able to book FP on 9/27 (60 days from our RO night).
Your fp+ window may or may not open on the 60 day mark of your RO reservation. My sister was able to book fp+ on day 60 of her room only reservation even though her package didn't start until the next day. I was able to book fp+ for our room when her room only 60 day window opened even though our MYW reservation didn't start until the the next day. We had piggybacked on her room only 60 day window because we were all linked together. But other people claim that they had to wait for the package window to open. So just be prepared to check it out early but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work until the package window opens. :)

You can overlap your fp+ time with an ADR. The fp+ system doesn't prevent you from doing that.

Yes, you can just do one fp+ and then move on to a different park on a different day. You don't have to finish making 3 before moving on. :)

Oh my goodness everyone...the VERY BEST THING happened today!! Does anyone remember my babbling about how we REALLY, REALLY wanted to do Dolphins in Depth? We were quite disappointed when we found out the exhibit would be closed for refurbishment the ENTIRE month of December! Interacting with dolphins is something DD has wanted to do for as long as I can remember and I SO wanted to make that happen for her (celebrating her graduation this trip). THEY CHANGED THE REFURBISHMENT DATES AND WE ARE NOW BOOKED FOR 12/3!! And you know what the icing on the cake is? :cake:

This is the eve of DD's birthday. :bday:

I didn't even know this existed! What an awesome birthday present. It's great when the changes actually work in your favor for a change.

I had to go look it up of course and DH walked by and after seeing the look on my face said "What are you reading?" He looked over my shoulder and said "No! You can't do it all in one trip." I said "That's a very good point. I guess we should think about scheduling our next Disney trip." :p

I'm just SHOCKED a phone cm gave you wrong information. Shocked, I tell you!

You know which one still wins the prize?! .....The day that EMM finally started showing up highlighted for December, but it wasn't bookable online or via the phone system. I guess it wasn't even showing up on their end, because the CM reported that there was no availability for it and to keep checking because people cancel all the time... :rotfl2:was this you that this happened to @BDFmom ??) it still makes me laugh

I am SOOOO happy for you. YAY!

@Talby thats so awesome and a great bday gift!! So happy for you and an advanced happy birthday to your DD! I hope (if the SW fireworks happen on 12/3 and dessert party comes up) maybe we could all greet her then! ;)

@Lisa F wow! Mom of the century! That's sounds like a fun weekend! I was on puke duty this afternoon so mine was not so fun! Lol!

@rasadkowski thats great you got your answers for FP booking! Looks like you're all set ;)

@areno79 i tried getting touring plans to optimize my plans for MK but I zigzag too much with their recommendation. What I did instead was look at the map and enter what I would like to do and click on evaluate instead to see if it's workable. I'm sure the timing might change a little as we get closer to the date...

On EPCOT planning, I might have the time schedule with me and do what we can catch... @Talby you have a great list and the additions of @LBlovesM&WDW are great too! I'm probably going to list what I want to see and get as snacks and go around WS looking at that list. Maybe have a few must dos. :)

We are looking forward to Japan.
Considering doing pick a pearl.

@LisaF sounds like a fun filled weekend. Yay for fishing derbies. :)
I might treat myself to pick a pearl. I LOVE pearls.

weird totally random and unrelated thing (which is all I am capable of today I think). a while ago I had my great aunt's pearls made into a double bracelet using the clasp, which is a gorgeous clasp from the 50's (the necklace was too small for me). I haven't been able to find it for the longest time. I must be going insane because I went back to look for it one more time and it was right there with my necklace. Anyway every time I ran across something about the pick a pearl it stressed me to think about it because it reminded me of my bracelet (tremendous sentimental value). but now I can happily say I'll do it!

My Epcot day is snack driven, too :squirrel: :D

@Lisa F It sounds like you had quite a weekend. Yay for G's catch, but yuck on the lick!

@Talby Woohoo for getting the gift your daughter really wanted--I'm sure you'll have a blast!

@rasadkowski If you are planning to RD or be pretty early at AK, couldn't you do just do those attractions and FP Mk from 4-7?

Alright, I tweaked my TP plan for MK a bit, and here's what it came up with (I had to put a PPO BOG in instead of EMM because EMM is not an option. So I'll already have done 7DMT, WTP, and PP.)

Are the lines for Aladdin usually long? Would it be better to FP splash mountain instead? I think for the railroad, I asked which direction it goes and I think Mal said it goes clockwise? I hope I'm remembering correctly but if that's the case then I think you can take it from adventure land to tomorrowland. :) I think your plan looks great though! Lots of action and yet lots of laid back attractions too to give yourselves a rest. Oh yeah I meant to ask, no space mountain and tiki room?
