***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Yeah!! The 7pm time is definitely new. Hmm, if they do ROL what times do you think they'll do? Do you think the last one will be at 7 with a closing time of 7 (like HS fantastic at 7 with a HS closing time of 7)? Curious because right now we have both a tusker lunch at 1pm and tusker dinner at 5:25 and were going to pick one. We had been leaning towards late morning AK arrival (staying for illuminations night prior at Epcot so don't want to RD at AK) and staying for a dinner there. Now, wondering if dinner will be in the way of ROL? Obviously I'm not canceling any ADRs without knowing more but just curious what you all thought.
This has been one of my biggest planning issues :( . If RoL isn't running, i'll likely change my 2nd AK day, and I need this info to rest my brain!!:headache:
...oh! Morning, all!:sunny:

That would be awesome re park map but would you send to Canada?
yes. :) Send me your address via the message system on this forum and I'll send it to you.

they (supposedly) heat the pools to 80, which is MUCH warmer water than I am used to in the northeast (either at the beach or in the Y swimming pool, right now water temps are 72 and that is probably peak for the year) the air temps could be cool but they typically still get into the 70's in december which is plenty warm to swim (but will feel cool on your skin vs. the pool water), especially in the afternoon with the sun shining. I personally find it much harder to go swimming in lower water temps even with very warm air than the other way around. If you are from the south and used to things warm all the time you might not enjoy it though!
My daughter took her kids swimming in the WL pool when it was 55 degrees out in January and they loved it. They didn't want to come out of the pool. ;) But when it is only 72 degrees out it is hard for me to get in the water. We're from Chicago so it will be at least 40 degrees warmer in Florida than at home in December. So the sun will feel good. :)

Thanks!!! I'll definitely check out the site for Mission Space :) is Colortopia in Innovations East or west? That's two different buildings right? Or am I confused with something else? That's so great you're going in October! Are you going for food and wine?
I always get those buildings confused. I'll check it out and let you know. :)

do they still list the attractions open at EMH somewhere? if it is no trouble at all (and I mean no trouble, like you are standing somewhere you already were and see a times guide) could you possibly just verify what is actually open for AK EMH? please do not make any special trips to the front desk or anywhere for it. I will live without the info :) so jealous you are getting to go while MSEP is still there and sweet of you to offer.
I've seen a list somewhere but I'll get a times guide and check it out. I know that the movie in France is not shown during EMH. And of course Ellen and some of the Future World rides. I'll let you know when I get back. :)

Hmm I think you should be fine because on MVMCP day you're making fastpasses for MK anyway right? If ROL does not open then maybe you could do one whole day there.
@SilSprBea i have a dinner at 5:45... My problem I think is if ROL plays early (7pm) my dinner time would not work well, it'll be too late. I think that my dinner time probably needs to be around 5pm to make it to the show.

This is my dilemma too - I have a 6:15 Boma on our AK day, but I want to see the tree awakenings and possibly ROL if it's even open haha. I'm stalking for a 4:30 - 5ish dinner now. I was able to find a Tusker House Lunch but DH has made only 1 meal request this trip and it's Boma. He'd rather eat there than see the nighttime stuff LOL.

LOL this seems to be the trend with husbands making requests! It never works out with our plans :p maybe you could have breakfast at Boma one day?

lol kids will swim until they are blue. if it is over 70 and sunny and the pool is heated I will swim also. I HATED heated pools in the summer though, not refreshing at all!

this was my facebook status yesterday as I was shivering in 64 degree weather:
64ºF after winter: "how much skin can I expose before I get arrested?"
64ºF after summer: "where the hell did I put my fleece???"

I was asking specifically about animal kingdom because every online source quotes something different, I know Dinosaur is open but wondering whether primeval whirl and triceratop spin are also open. But interested in epcot EMH as well! I may not be able to do soarin' and tt during the evening hours but I can do the rest of futureworld (whatever is open).

I can't find the post where you said you wanted to see all of the storytellers to quote it but I am trying to figure out how to plan that. I don't think kiddo would enjoy doing all of them (too much sitting still and listening, which are not his strengths lol) so I am trying to figure out the most interesting and hit those. I think some of it is hard to plan because it also depends on the talent of the presenter but I am thinking of doing:

Channukah in AA
Pere Noel in France
Helga in Germany

and we'll see. I'm targeting these because I think they are most relevant to kiddo - we are jewish (well his father is, I am half and half and was not raised religiously but I think he would enjoy that), we are also of german decent (and the timing works great with out biergarten dinner if the schedule is same as last year) and pere noel is just my preference.

also I think the santa in the UK (who runs a lot later than the rest, at least last year) we can maybe hit on the way in one evening.

I don't want to feel like I have to do EVERYTHING. Trying to balance what will be fun for what will seem like tedium. Apparently they have a special holiday passport and I'd like to at least get that all stamped for him even if we just breeze through a few countries. two years ago he was not interested at all.

if the 7pm time is the latest RoL I will not be able to make it with a 5pm CA Grill dinner. sigh. kind of hoping if RoL opens we get another bump to 8pm.

Yes :) that is what I am planning :) I'd just need (like :) ) that tusker house ppo:hyper:
Btw..what restaurant are you looking for for the dinner?

That's the other choice! I was hoping there would be one more show too so if I have dinner at 6, I'll be able to see the later show! 4:30pm dinner is too early, 5pm sucks since I want to do the sunset safari, 6pm would be ideal but not if ROL only shows at 7pm...

That looks like a great list. I'm thinking I really need to give up on the idea of seeing all of them because at this point it's just impossible! Lol! Would love to get a photo with some of them though. :)

they have really got to give us a break with the shows that conflict with dinner! i might just have to let that one go. or the star wars fireworks.

I've crossed off anything that was just a video (Morocco and China). Assuming the schedule is the same as last year, Helga (germany) is really the only one I am sure of because she presents in germany at 6:05 and I have dinner there at 6:20. If you google it you can find videos of the presentations, I did not watch them but the time on them were all under 10 minutes (7-9ish) so they are not super long, which also helps.

I think you would need to let this one go if ever since your son is a Star Wars fan :) for me, since nothing has been announced yet, I still have a little time to decide what to do, it's attractions vs shows. I'm glad it's closing at 7 now though, hoping that means I could see some tree of life awakenings :)

I think China has a lion dance? I didn't think it would be a film...? I looked at the schedule on Kenny the pirate's page and it takes 15 mins per set. Not too long but it overlaps and timing does not work out with the countries close together..

my feeling on it is that since it is new we can probably catch it next time once all of the glitches are worked out. only thing I could do is swap CA Grill dinner for Tiffins (maybe with package) with a much earlier timing that works with RoL but honestly Tiffins menu does not appeal and I don't want to give up CA Grill.
