***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I would plan without it and change plans after... but this only applied for anything other than FEA and 7DMT. :)But for those, I would take what I can get.
Thank you! And yes, it would actually mean me trying for 7dmt during the 4-7 of mvmcp... So I'll just have to make a last minute decision :)

I wou

l would say the solution is to move to Orlando and work for Disney! :rotfl2:

Oh that's even better!! Love it! I need a career change anyway! :thumbsup2

Are any of you waiting or searching for any more adrs that you have sketched into your final plans? I am really excited about fp coming up soon, and I am up in the air about what I should do...
I am for the most part all set with my park days, and I do have some flexibility with things like Rol, but I would like to plan my fp around one adr that I am hopeful to get. ( it would mean switching up park days) There is quite a bit of time between now and the trip that I really do think something will come up. But, if it doesn't, that would stink. What do you think? Plan fp around missing adr?

What is the ADR? And can you maybe give what Plan A is (if you get the ADR) and what Plan B is (without it)?

Well.. It's all because of rol and my booking the mvmcp :)
I have a lot of options... And I'm having a hard time deciding..incorporating rest time, and the fact that different plans mean purchasing an extra day pass for everyone.... So, trying to save money, time, exhaustion :) and wanting to do the main adrs I selected early on in my planning....
But you guys know I'm leaning towards doing 2 1/2 AK days over 1
The problem is I'd need to buy an extra day ticket for that...( the 2 1/2 days)
Also... If I do the 1 day, that means I get the rest day before th mvmcp; which means I can use my fp for the party (4-7) not for the originally planned AK that morning.... I "think" at least!!!
I would like to get an early Tusker house breakfast, which I really think I'll be able to get.

I know this is really confusing and everyone must be so sick of hearing my problems! I think I'll have this figured out soon.. I'll probably just plan on the 1 day AK to make my MK fast pass, and I can always switch to 2 1/2 days later

FP wise, I think that makes sense that you would do MK first, rather than 2 half AK days. If ROL comes out and you would like to get FP for that, then you could always adjust then. Maybe we would have a clearer picture once all the schedules are released. I would say that we're better informed than most people anyway so we should not be in too bad of a position for FPs :)

I agree, AK fp+ are easier to get than MK

@AZRAPUNZEL I'm not going to sugarcoat this. Pop Warner is 12/3-10 and that is the main resort for these athletes. I was a cheer aunt for years and have been to many competitions. There will be cheerleaders practicing everywhere they find space and at whatever time. If that doesn't bother you, also know that they will be in the food court and they will be in small to large groups many times. I love competition cheerleading, but unless my niece or daughter was competing, I would not want to stay in the madness.

Yes very true, and it's an 8:00am park opening day on this particular day as well. But I would think the buses are trying to get those with PPO breakfasts to the gates at like 7:45, whereas I'm shooting for getting to the gate at 7:30 and then I'll be at the Wild Africa Trek check in by the 7:45 required time. It's located by TH I believe.
Always consider Uber! It'll cost you $10 max and it's so efficient!

I just watched as the TP reservation finder missed a BOG dinner that it should've alerted me on. Unfortunately I'm looking for pre-party and the time available was during the party. But in my reservation finder, I just put in "dinner" for the timeframe and I didn't get an email and the search is still active. I can see why some of you worked so hard for your ADRs just hitting the search button over and over. Since I read that on here, I'm doing the same today when I think of it and that's how I found the one that TP didn't alert me on.

Yes, touringplans.com. You don't need a subscription but you do need to make an account in order to use their reservation finder.
OMG Thanks so much I know my princess will be happy if we get that & I will make her birthday MAGICAL!

Thank you everyone for The Garden Grill feedback/thoughts. It sounds like an awesome one and that I have my next ADR challenge- garden grill PPO on our Epcot. It kind of burns me I saw the perfect one last week and I didn't grab it because garden grill wasn't on my radar. Before it was only processes! Hoping one will come up again.

We have an 8:30 Garden Grill (PPO) as part of the Candlelight Processional package. I'm hoping I can actually find availability at 8:00" though.

I find that when I search for dinner, any time for the special ticket event does not seem to show. If you put a particular time, it shows...

That could be true. When I checked my TP reservation finder (even now still) it says "Last checked 3:07PM". I saw the available time pop up around 3:15-3:20ish. I guess I never paid much attention to how often TP actually runs the check. And to clarify, I put Dinner for my TP search, and have been putting in Dinner on my own search on the disney page.

I am in Chicago right now and I know a lot about the city. Any touring in the main downtown area is safe. The trains from the suburbs to downtown Chicago are safe. But without knowing where you will be staying I can't really offer too much advice.

We had an early tour planned at MK and were very nervous about getting to the park on time, since we had to be there 45 minutes before the park opened or the tour would leave without us. So we decided to wait for a park bus and if one didn't arrive within a certain window of time, then we would grab a cab. We ended up getting the early ADR bus and got there in plenty of time, but it was good to know that we had a plan in case a bus didn't arrive.

I would not do two Christmas parties. They are too expensive and as long as you can see the parade and the fireworks, you've pretty much done everything that is unique to the party. And you can always decide to do a second party once you do the first one. That way you will know if you really need to go to it twice. :)

@Wood Nymph, I'm at a Hampton Inn out in Westchester (Oak Brook). I forgot I'm supposed to Skype with a friend from AUstralia tonight, so I'm probably not going to try to hit downtown. I'll probably take the hotel shuttle over to Oakbrook Center Mall, browse a bit, then find someplace to eat dinner.

Good Luck!! I have heard so many people be able to get their adrs that way! :) I was really lucky with TP early on after the 180. But it's been crickets for whatever i've been searching for since July. I, too, have been lured into the search button method...but, I was really trying almost ALL day for 4 or 5 days straight when I just down right gave up! I'm back at it, and I'm hopeful!!

I think it's because the touring plans doesn't check continuously. If you look at your dashboard it tells you when the check was last run. I've noticed mine are running every 4-5 hours so if they don't check at the right time something might be missed. I suspect that with something like a BOG timing is everything!

I have read more than once that if you have a PPO and show up right at 8 they will seat you regardless of ADR time.

I hope so! Touring plans helped me find a garden grill PPO today for my date, but it's at 8:20. I plan on continuing to check for an 8 but I've read on some of the boards that they let you in PPO on a first come first serve basis. Sounds like with PPOs either people are running late or they never show because they are using the ADR to get in early for better ride positioning.

Is it strange that I only got MVMCP tickets so I could enjoy more time on the rides? Seems like I might be the only one, which was the idea behind it so that I didn't have many wait times. We only have one day in MK our entire trip and that also happens to be our MVMCP day. I am of course excited to see the castle all lit up and will be watching the fireworks on Main Street. Maybe catching a glimpse of the parade while walking by. We're not into characters and probably won't watch any of the specialty shows.
