***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I picked up an 'Ohana reservation for our MVMCP night! Unfortunately, it's for 5:15. I think I'll just have to cancel as that would eat up too much party time. :(

I keep trying to think if we would rather move our party so we could keep 'Ohana, but I don't care about it THAT much. lol
Oh no, keep the party. Don't pay twice for that!

Strollers! What are you using? I'm disappointed in our current double stroller. It's bulky and heavy and it'll be a huge pain to take on the buses. We also have a jogging stroller that's great, but I don't want to travel with it. The other one we have is a Graco Click Connect double.

We have a city select double that I'm contemplating bringing. The kids like it but it is a pain to fold since you have to remove at least one seat. We also have a side by side jogging that we picked up at a yard sale for $20 that we are contemplating bringing. The problem with it is that it has a funny flat fold (once you remove all the tires) that takes up so much room in our suv trunk (would be fine on a bus). My husband really wants to bring the $20 stroller but I am going to push for our city select.

Our Graco is almost 40 lbs when folded up! It's crazy! I'm thinking about driving over to BuyBuyBaby and see if they have something resonable.

Okay, I'm ready to cancel my Akershus PPO breakfast on 12/5 at 8:05 for 6 people if anyone wants it. I'd like to cancel it tonight, so pm me soon if you want to try to coordinate. Otherwise I'll just let it go back into the system for someone to grab.

Our city select is pretty heavy too but our kids love it. New doubles are so expensive. Check Craig's list. You might find something cheaper that way.

Did you ever think of renting one? Lots of places will rent them. I priced a city mini double for the length of our stay (6 nights) at $80. We have the room so are just bringing one in the car with us.

So totally random question...:rolleyes1 Anyone thinking of buying their kids balloons at MK? I was thinking about buying one because I heard that if it pops or fly away, you can just show your receipt and get another one for free? Anyone has any experience on this?

I hate those types of decisions!! I have a couple of them myself that have caused me to redo the schedule. Which night is it for? Maybe you could keep checking for availability to see if something earlier opens up.

@Iowamomof4 I agree with this. Unfortunately I feel it will get worse with FP booking! But as usual, keep checking! Things open up all the time! :) I'm also in a pinch with my BoG reservation that's 6:20 on party day. I have ohana as a back up at 3:30pm but I prefer BOG for that day...

At least that's IN the park! :) I'm hoping for 'Ohana at 3:30 on December 1. That would be ideal for us.

We plan on just renting the strollers from the park. My girls are a little older but will need them for party nights and our longer Epcot day. I'm just so done with hauling and loading strollers on buses.

Yes, we will probably get a balloon or 2. In 2011 we flew, so on the night before check out I found a family to pass the balloon on to.

My answer for ADR's is just constantly looking. Although this trip we got really lucky. Most of the things we like aren't hard to get places and we lucked out with CRT at 180 days.

For those of you still looking for certain ADR's, just keep looking. In 2014 we didn't book our trip until 60 days out. I scored a Chef Mickeys breakfast about 20 days out.

I totally hear you all about plan changes :( I'm really happy with what I've planned, but we have a whole night "free" for our AK day hoping to go to rivers of light.. I've booked several restaurants hoping for that scenario. But, just finding out about the h&v!, I'm debating searching for that on our AK night instead :( I figure the more days I have freed up to get an h&v reservation the better. Still, not sure what to do :(

We found two of the three wheel strollers on Craigslist and the town swap shop. We cleaned them up and are using them with our 4 and 6 year olds. I know 6 seems really old, but she fits fine. So much better to have her be able to rest with such early mornings everyday. Plus, they'll be hopping in and out all day

. @Candycane83 i completely understand about naps/rest. It's so hard to plan. Around here, we venture out for events really early and they're wiped out by 3. We have an early supper and call it a day. Im nervous about if it'll be the same there. Will they be more excited? More tired? 400 dinners? 540 dinners? You can't just choose exactly the time you want sometimes :) im really confused as to what I should keep/drop if some of these other great shows and adrs become available. I guess, I'll just have to be flexible!!!

I'm following along this thread even though we are looking at this week in 2017.

Would MK be completely decorated for Christmas the Sunday night after the Saturday parade taping? I'm just thinking that maybe we would do MVMCP the Sunday night and then MK Monday and Tuesday?

I have all our ADRs nearly exactly how I want them. :tigger:I have 2 that I want to adjust times on slightly but it's not the end of the world if that doesn't happen. This was such a long time coming! lol Anyway...I'm considering shaking things up ONE MORE TIME. We will be rope dropping MK one day and then going for a nice breakfast at The Wave at 10:30. I'm considering changing this to Chef Mickey's. I am aware of the mixed reviewed but it is the hard-to-screw-up-too-much meal of breakfast and the focus is clearly on the characters. The food at The Wave I imagine is going to be quite good, but lacking that beloved Disney feel. Seems to come down to a choice between food vs. experience and I can't decide!! We have 2 other character meals this trip. So, Dear December DISers....which would you choose for breakfast? The Wave or Chef Mickey's?

totally get what you mean about flexibility and how hard it is!!! Hahaha I'm pretty sure I would need to be but planning every so hard makes it harder to let go! My dinners range between 4- 6:30 and I'm hoping it would work... revisiting everything again and I'm hoping it works... :) good luck to us I guess :D

I debated the stroller. Mt dd is 6 but the size of an 8 year old so I don think she will fit. But she gets worn out. We went to Busker fest yesterday but one thing I learned is she is patient in line (unlike dh and me) and after a few hous was wiped. I think we need to do early mornings and early nights.

I got an ohana breakfast at 1055 on 12/7. Still wondering. If we do an early night that night we might just keep my original ohana at 730 12/8. That way they won't be backed up and we can go to mk early.

I'm most likely doing both :rotfl: but I would say I'm doing chef Mickeys because I'm on the dining plan and I have a two year old. the food at the wave should be better (paying for this OOP). I would suggest that make the Wave reservation and then keep looking for chef Mickeys. If you find chef Mickeys, take it and decide later since the wave usually have tons of availability:)

Edit: if you're rope dropping MK, I would suggest doing a 7am breakfast at chef Mickeys so you don't have to come back out for breakfast :)
