***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

So not sure if I should share this here but why not. My friend is at the MK right now, the first Wednesday night during MVMCP. Now MVMCP is every night this week but Saturday (the first one was Monday) and tonight. Also this weekend is the FINAL weekend of food and wine festival. Dapper day is also this weekend. So basically it is an unusual convergence of events... it is the only week where there is both MVMCP and also F&W festival... F&W is a huge draw on its own but I can see how people might pick this particular week to get both.

BUT she said she has never seen the MK so packed in her life and people are saying it's because it's the only day this week that the MK is open at night... usually MVMCP is sunday, tuesday, thursday, friday but this week it started on a monday so that is true. The line was HUGE for the people mover (it is usually a walk on). She was hoping it would clear out after fireworks at 10.. her phone was dying so I will check in with her tomorrow. I checked FP availability around 7pm for 1 and it was very sketchy.. things like dumbo and small world and magic carpets were all that was left. truly the dregs but if lines are that long I'd take them. it is also EMH tonight and she is planning to stay so I will ask her how it looked after wishes at 10, and then after EMH starts at 11.

I will check the FP situation next wednesday around the same time. I checked my "booked 60 days in advance" FP+ (I have Peter Pan, Space Mountain, BTMRR) for that day, and all 3 have very good availability left even though the 30 day window has opened for those offsite already. of course 7DMT is done but the rest have return times all day - peter pan not as much but space and btmrr have times starting around 9am-ish still. She was not able to get very good FP+ at over 30 days so that tells me that her night was shaping up to be very very busy well in advance... our wednesday does not look that busy yet by my read of FP+ availability compared to what she was telling me when she booked hers.

All the news that's not fit to print. I am very curious to see how next week same day looks when Monday is also a non-party day.
Good info to know. Curious at how 12/7 will look for us at mk.

I actually just booked the plaza viewing dessert party for that night. I'm not sure how well it fits into my plans really but she said fireworks were PACKED as well. The plaza viewing area is a great place to watch, researching the dessert party further.

Didn't they adjust all MK openings to 8 this week? That was rather telling right there, imo. I agree that next week will be a better indicator of what is to come.

Well today got much cheerier! Got home and had received my new running shoes, 2 books I ordered from Amazon, cat food order from Petco (not that exciting, lol), and the last of my mb decals in the mail! I also stopped at Charming Charlie on my way home. Charming Charlie is probably my MOST DANGEROUS store :rotfl: They always have coupons, plus a loyalty rewards program where I get $5 reward certificates, and I want to buy all of the things! Got a bunch more Christmas jewelry, plus 2 other regular necklaces not shown here, lol.

NICE STUFF! I love jewelry and there is a Charming Charlie's right across the street from my office, but I have never been there. I subconsciously know that it will be a bad for my wallet!

i just dropped $75 at the disney store online. They had the sorcerers of the magic kingdom binder kiddo wanted, and 25% off... why wait til I get to the parks and lug it home? lol. Got that, two packs of cards for him (going to make him earn those haha), two storybook ornaments with personalization for $8.50 each, and a 2016 disney world tshirt for him for $11.22 (originally $19.95 and I bet $19.95 at the parks still)... only had it left in his side, seemed meant to be. free shipping, just made the $75. It was a perfect order.

Shirt is great! and YAY on the MB's

I saw on another site that MK has been packed! Another reason is that some schools had 2 days off for elections/teacher conferences so there were a lot of people taking quick trips. I haven't had time to monitor FP availability in a week or so, but let us know what you find. My TPs for each park have very low wait times for most rides and even some of the more popular were only 15-20 minutes.

yeah she said also a lot of people rescheduled to this week because of the hurricane.

I was able to move my FP+ around for that night and still get decent times.

This is a busy week because a lot of kids have multiple days off of school for Election Day and Veterans Day. Our school system has two half days on top of that too. My boss is at Disney this week with her kids. She says they go this every year because of how it fits into the school calendar.

I don't know if they adjusted all but I did notice MK opened at 8am this morning when I was checking hours.

Honestly not sure how I feel about the MK dessert party. I had been sort of considering it but last night actually pushed me into it... a less crowded but prime place for viewing is appealing with kiddo. we have a 5:35 dinner at Narcoossees and will probably be having dessert around 7, then dessert party at 8:45 is kind of soon upon dinner. Plus the desserts get very meh reviews. But I think it is going to be very crowded for Wishes.

I can sort of work it in - 5:35 Narcoossees, 7:20-8:20 FP+ for Peter Pan (I worry about dinner at Narcoossees taking more than 2 hours and then transportation going wacky getting to the MK and missing the 8:20 part of the window) and 8:20-9:20 for peter pan and then 8:45 for dessert party. I don't think you need to show up early... was reading about the plaza gardens one and seating doesn't matter.... you get desserts and you sit down and have them then 15 minutes before fireworks you move to the roped off viewing area. I am not so much into desserts and will have just finished the almond cheesecake at narcoossees 1.5 hours before.

looking for opinions of course. bleh

we are not planning to leave the park - I have a 10:15-11pm FP+ for BTMRR and then planning to stay at least til midnight and hoping during EMH that adventureland stuff doesn't have too bad a wait... my friend said it calmed down a bit after 11 but the big rides still had big waits, 7DMT had 75 minutes, Peter Pan at 35 minutes. But hoping the ones that don't sell out quickly with FP+ will have no more than 10-15 minute waits.

This is our "test run" for doing the whole MVMCP... so a late night hopefully followed by a late morning Wednesday... late (10am) breakfast, swimming at the pool, ohana dinner at 3:30 then over to the MK for MVMCP on Thursday.

There is also a special DVC member fireworks cruise that night but that would also require leaving the park. it is probably all booked up anyway.

Just reading everything now and will our week be as bad as this week? Given it is pop warner... hmm maybe I should book the dessert party too... but I was thinking of not watching wishes from the front of the park... the only thing is I really want to see the once upon a time projection show, which is at 10:45... not sure if ppl will start exiting after wishes or will they wait in their spots

they will probably wait in their spots. you can wait in your roped off spot at the dessert party for that. I think I will skip it and go ride BTMRR :)

it should not be as bad, though pop warner only seems to affect nighttime crowds. BUT their special party is wednesday night I believe at AK - so they should all be over there! I am pretty sure disney has their special party on wed night so that they don't slam the MK en masse that night. they might show up after their party I suppose.

It seems all of Jersey is there this week and I know of at least 4 families that are there. Honestly, our time there takes time away from school, so I really don't think it will be as bad. Also, PW is a whole different animal because they are really busy running around to competition. They may be around at night, but daytime should be pretty good. I've been there for Worlds, where there are so many more teams, which also coincided with Easter and didn't find it all that bad. I've also been there for PW, though it was years ago, and I didn't find it a problem at all. Whether it is crazy or not, we won't know and there is nothing we can do about it. Just remember, we'll all be there in just a few weeks!

I just looked and the plaza party is booked on our one night (12/5) in the park.

Happy Thursday! Today is actually my 'Friday' since I took tomorrow off to go with my fam to visit some family friends. Should be a crazy busy day though!

I tested the glow-in-the-dark feature of my magic band decal from MagicYourBand.com last night, and it definitely glows! :thumbsup2
