***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Okay I'm going to ask for some logistical help here. I have no idea about distances and travel time at Disney so need to gauge some stuff. Can someone help? (I know there's a Transportation board, but y'all are my homies.)

12/2 - arrive at BC. We plan to grab dinner at the Boardwalk - I know it's walking distance. Is it far? How long will it take? Asking because if DD is exhausted we can just grab something at Beach marketplace but I hear that place is a pretty crappy QS.

12/3 - HS - I know you can walk or boat, and both are about 25 min. If I have a ppo 8:05 breakfast what time should I leave the resort? Do the boats leave from Yacht Club?

12/4 - MK - We have EMM so we want to be there around 7:35am or so to get through security etc. I am debating taking ME or using Uber. How long of a ride is it to MK? I know busses will be running but not sure what the schedule is. I'm thinking it might just be safer to Uber over but not sure what time we'd need to leave BC.

Then after FOF parade we are going to head to the Poly for a break. DD is going to the kids club and we have dinner at Kona. Take the monorail to Poly? We will likely be done our dinner by 8:30pm and so we'll pick DD up at 9pm. We have an early morning the next day so I'm thinking Uber from Poly to BC because I think I'd need to go back to MK to get a bus to BC and that seems complicated after a long day.

12/5 - EASY. Walk to Epcot! We have a 7:30am Cape May but it's at BC so we don't need to leave our room until 7:25am which is nice. Is it about 10 min to Int'l gateway walking to BC? Keep in mind DD is a slow walker. We want to get there for RD to see Joy and Sadness and then plan to work out way to the Land, Imagination, and then cross over to Mexico and Norway, stopping in China and then going back to Int'l gateway for a break. We'll come back for dinner at Katsura Grill - how long should I allow for this? we plan to eat and then watch Illumniations from somewhere in the WS.

12/6 - Epcot again so walking. DH requested we do Akershus lunch instead of breakfast (but I'm still nervous about releasing my PPO breakfast reservation there...I need to get over it). So that reservation isn't until 1:25pm but I have a FP for FEA at 12:25pm so I plan to go to the park for that. I figure we'll grab breakfast at Les Halles on the way in and walk our way over to Norway, meet A&E (again), ride FEA and then eat lunch at Akershus. But other than that we don't have anything else scheduled at Epcot. DD is going to the kids club again and we have a date night. So I'm thinking maybe either going to the park early (like 9:30amish for breakfast) and then walking through WS doing the character meets (Belle in France, Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco, Snow White in Germany, Mulan in China) on the way to Norway. But I'm wondering if this plan is redundant depending on who the princesses are at Akershus (I know Belle is there, and usually Snow White, and sometimes Jasmine and Mulan). I don't want DD to get confused! So I could do the WS on the way back from lunch (I figure done by 3pm) but I don't think that will give us enough time. I'd rather have breakfast in France and work our way over to Norway through WS in the morning I think...it gives us about 3 hours to get there. (I think I had better buy Character Locator from KtP). So then maybe after lunch walk back to Int gateway, drop kid off at club, and then date night (we don't have an ADR - I think we'll just snack around WS and take a more leisurely look at stuff we missed with DD).

12/7 - MK - this is kind of our overflow day for MK - we have FP for HM at 12:25pm so we can sleep in if we want to (and honestly I've left it open in case DD still wants to do the Pirate Cruise in the morning) - since we'll stay for Wishes it will be a late night so I want us to have a relaxed morning. I cancelled my Skippers Canteen dinner so now I'm not sure where we're going to have supper (We'll have breakfast in room and lunch is BOG). I was hoping to get the Plaza but can't seem to get in! Am tempted to book Tonys just because we'll watch Elsa light the castle and then eat dinner but I think the better bet will be to try for Plaza OR walk up to Columbia HH.

12/8 - MK - we will Uber to Poly first as we have 'Ohana breakfast at 10:30am and then monorail to MK? our first FP is Talking Mickey at 12:20pm and then we need to head to Pirates League for 1:15pm. I'm thinking after that we can grab a bite at Pecos Bill and we're mostly staying in Fronteirland area. We have a dinner reservation at 1900 Park Fare and I think @Lisa F mentioned taking the boat to GF. then Uber back to BC to pack up and get ready for early departure the next day. :(

So what do you all think? This was long but I think my plans are FINALLY getting close to finished!!!
12/2 - the Boardwalk is about ten minutes or less walking distance from the BC.

12/3 The Friendship boat pull up to the boat docks exactly one hour before the park opens. I think it sits and loads for a few minutes before it moves on to Swan/Dolphin. If you catch the first boat then it should be about a half hour trip to DHS. Walking will take 25 minutes.

12/4. The bus to MK takes about 15 minutes once it leaves the BC. The buses start running before 7am usually. If you decide to take a taxi the give yourself at least 20 minutes for the ride and 15 miles for the walk from CR to MK

12/6 Epcot. The World Show case doesn't open until 11am with a couple of exceptions.

Question or thought for you guys ! Reading through I noticed some new ppo adrs people have been adding! It made me start to think about our MK days. Are some of you planning to switch MK days if park hours change? Specifically to 8am? Or are you guys planning to just go with the 8am opening and enjoy breakfast before you head to the rides.
I may have asked this before? But I was just curious. Wondering if I should try to get a ppo for an alternate day.... Or even plan fp for that day too....I just was checking out the wdw calendar, and there are so many 8am days for November
See this?! Too much time waiting means too much time to think about changing plans!!

My first PPO MK day is an EMM, so I know they won't change the hours for that one. The other one is Monday the 5th (our departure day), I've got a PPO 8:05 but am holding onto a 10:10 just in case they change the hours! Actually I'm doing similar for my other PPO (at AK), I'm planning on PPO breakfast, but I do have a 1PM lunch ADR there too just in case.

You rock and I totalky forgot ws doesn't open until 11! May just do a relaxed morning. The only priority characters are mulan and snow white as we can catch jasmine at mk. Hmm so maybe breakfast in room with a small snack at les Halles later. Also if boat to hs isn't there until an hour before park opens I think we will need to walk or uber over to hs so we can be there for 745.

I wanted to see if anyone recommended a certain vendor for groceries? I have heard of garden grocer and Amazon pantry. I have two little ones so we will need milk and a few other items for our hotel room. Thank you in advance! I love reading all the info on this board!

Hmmm....is it common for FP to be changed seemingly out of the blue? I think @Party.Of.4-NY>>>FL is now the third person who has experienced this on our thread today? Does anyone know why this might be?

I have seen it happen a lot on here but it's usually for an attraction that is undergoing a refurb. and Disney had to extend the refurb. beyond its original completion date. I'm thinking Dinosaur was the most recent to have this happen. I know many people arriving in November complained about getting their Dinosaur FP's canceled. I did also notice that if you called to express your dissatisfaction, some people were given a free anytime FP. I don't think I'm going to go through the trouble of doing that because this move didn't have any real affect on my plans.

******* WARNING ********

We received our Tee Spring order. I ordered a women's large, hoping that they would be slightly loose. That was absolutely NOT the case. They were TEENY-TINY! They were so tight in fact, that I measured them up with other shirts I wear and they were a lot smaller.

So, lesson learned, either size up immensely, or order a men's t shirt.

I've already emailed them, so I'll keep everyone posted.
Oh no! I hope they can fix this. I just got my zazzle order and the sizes do run a little small too. Im happy with my own shirt but I'm glad I ordered a size 3 for DS. DH fits ok if not a little on the tight side

Alright kids, I'm off to Zumba...don't let me have to catch up on 14 pages when I get home!! :rotfl:

I didn't finish catching up on the thread yet, but just had to say, hi fellow Zumbaist! I just got out of Zumba class!

Ah-ha! At first I was thinking I hadn't heard of this before and finding it curious that several instances happened today. Your explanation triggered a fuzzy recall about @rasadkowski and an anytime FP for something similar (I think that's who is was!). At any rate, so glad it doesn't affect your plans. :-) And thanks a bunch! :flower:

yes someone calls it "chef yucky's" lol. cracks me up. Listen, it's a buffet. It is not gourmet. as long as you know that it's fine.
1) I am not cooking
2) I am not working
3) I am not cleaning up
4) I am at DISNEY
5) my child is dining with the characters

yes it is expensive for what it is. yes it is buffet food. blah blah blah. and sometimes restaurants have very off nights and I don't doubt some bad reviews are earned. but most disney restaurants are rated around a 4 on trip advisor which means they are decent enough most of the time.
Chef Yucky's :rotfl2:
And yes to everything you said. If you go in thinking it's fine dining, you will be disappointed. I like to keep my expectations low and be pleasantly surprised. :)

I LOVE Zumba!! I have made some of my best friends in class. It's also helped me lose and keep off 70 pounds over the last 2 years. I used to go 4-5 times a week, but now at this new job I only get to go 2-3 times weekly. Zumba is my happy place! :dancer:

I love it too! I spent many years of my life dancing, all different types, ballet/pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, (it was my 'sport' growing up) and also teaching it. I don't get to anymore so Zumba is my dance fix!

And congrats on the epic weight loss and maintenance achievement!!! That is fantastic and something to be very proud of!!! :flower3::flower3::flower3::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My DD was a "sport" dancer....believe it or not I was a Dance Mom...competition dance is a whole other world! Her favorite was tap...taught her own class senior year. She also loves Zumba in college. Her favorite class is "Glow"...Zumba in the dark with glo bracelets. Wish I could Zumba, but my lousy health holds me back! I'm always dancing in my head!!!
