***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I can't imagine that a Saturday would be discounted.
well they edited it to remove the 10th from the list but the 8th is also still missing... but the 8th is the ONLY non friday/saturday 2nd pricing tier date not on the list. so hoping it was omitted. maybe. fingers crossed? lol

Fingers crossed for that...and for me---a RO discount!!!!!lol

RO would save the day for me!
If not.. I mean, I'v done the party.. if its the price they say it is I'll still need to convert it to canadian dollars, and might have to skip it.. I wanted the people in my group to attend. But I mean, its for me to add one more park day then the party (by a lot), and i can always take them to one of the monorail resorts to see the xmas fireworks : (

It would leave me more time for the processional...

I haven't booked Black Friday yet... seriously leaning towards POP. I have never stayed at a Value before, but Pop has direct bus service to Epcot...which is the only reason for adding the night. $187.88 POP vs. $699.75 for BWI. For 1 night where all we will be doing is sleeping in the room. I really wanted BWI for the convenience, but I just don't think it is worth the money for that night. And I'm adding a cost to the trip bc now we will be taking a car service from WDW to the port. Planned on using Disney transportation, BUT I've read reports on the cruise boards of people arriving too late to get character meet and greet tickets and ginger bread house making tickets- both extremely important to me

well that site typoed my date - it is $92/87 not $92/$97 (I thought they reversed kids and adults but they typoed kid price). $190 for both of us (plus some cents) with tax. Ouch. my date is not discounted for DVC :( but only a $6 difference for both of us so hardly worth blowing a hole in my plans over, the savings won't even buy me a glass of wine at disney. :rotfl:I just like having the discount.

Yes it is a big difference but what am I gonna do except what I always do? suck up, bend over and buy it lol. I just like knowing I have the discount. Maybe it will make it lighter crowds that night as APs and DVC members will choose the tuesday.

Can anyone remind me again what time you can book your ADRs at 180+? Is it midnight, 6am, what??? I can't keep track.

also does anyone know what time southwest goes live? I'm thinking it's 6am for that. oy too much to remember lol

Well at least the prices are a little better than the 'leaked' info yesterday lol

Do you know when SP narrators get announced?

Hey Amy,
I started here, at undercover tourists's crowd calendar, aiming for green days whenever possible and yellow when not. https://www.undercovertourist.com/orlando/crowd-calendar/december-2016/#calendar

although now I see that one of my planned HS days is considered red and I'm not sure why... BUT that might be ok because we are planning to show up at rope drop, sign up for Jedi Training Academy, have a quick breakfast at starring rolls - will have 3 FPs, want to do indiana jones stunt show and a nice lunch at sci fi at 11am... and leave on the early side to freshen up for a 5pm dinner at CA grill. So even with that being a red day it should be manageable.... kid won't do ToT (took him once lol) or RnR so really great movie ride is the only tier 1 that we'd have to wait for and maybe would go there right after rope drop and before grabbing a snack for breakfast.

But anyway I made a list of restaurants i wanted to go to and then i sat down with that crowd calendar and started to formulate a plan. pop warner (from my research) typically has HS closed early on wed of that week for their party. I wanted to do CP, I want to do RoL, I want to do MVMCP and I am hoping to be able to hit the merry member mixer for DVC which was on Tuesday last year but was on mondays previous years so kind of trying to keep my first few days a bit flexible to do that. It's tough with disney not releasing dates yet. I want them a year in advance lol.

Awesome! Thank you for your help Lisa!

Hi guys! Can I join in the fun here?

My boyfriend and I are planning a split trip to Florida, 11/30-12/11.

The plan is to fly into Miami and do Miami/the Keys up to Tuesday, 12/6.

On 12/6 we will drive up to Orlando and hopefully check into a studio villa at AKL (planning on renting DVC points), staying from Tues, 12/6 - Sun, 12/11.

We are still fleshing out our plans but the real excitement of this trip is it will be our first to WDW in the Christmas season (other than a spur of the moment 1-nighter last Dec. to see the Osborne Lights for the first/last time!) and I am a Christmas nut!!! I will post our more detailed plans once I get them more settled.
Glad you're here!

Your plan sounds good. I missed that you were doing a cruise. Is it before or after? Either way, how fun! I say definitely stay at Pop. You'll want to get to the Port asap so car service is awesome. We live in Ga and can drive to the port. We drove from the port to WDW last September and really loved that we had control to leave the port when we wanted, ( meaning right as we got off the ship and to the parking lot). We were off the ship early and into our car. We were checking into the Poly by 8:30am. You don't have that same ability if waiting on the Disney buses.....could be fast, could be a long wait. Either way, you're with a lot of people. Using the car service, you'll be able to get going when you want to. The gingerbread houses and characters would be important to us too. Have fun!

It would be Pop on Black Friday- full Epcot day...haven't booked yet. And then 7 nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy. I have the Contemporary booked for 12/3-12/7 and that isn't changing..that part is going to be a complete surprise for my son.
Your story is one more reason why I think I should cancel DCL transport! I don't want to deal with the hassle of renting a car and parking/shuttles. It's just me and my son and the less time I have to touch our luggage the better! If I can do car service to Port, and then hand porter my bags...it's good for me!

honestly I'd stay cheap. the other thing i thought of and just checked on, the swan/dolphin is operated by sheraton, on the boat line, and is "only" $360 a night - so more than pop but about half BWI (well a bit more than that with tax and fees and all that). So maybe that is a good compromise? I checked DVC for you and there is no availability at BWV or BCV so that is out. I might pay a bit more for the swolphin. maybe. Or maybe I'd just stay super cheap but gosh I hate the buses lol. I might pay a couple hundred more but not $500 more!

I never use disney transport for anything (ME or cruise, though it's been years since I did a cruise). I do not like not having control of my destiny. It stresses me out. I always rent a car around the parks because I hate buses and I still stay near the parks I want to go to whenever possible. Just the way I am. The extra few hundred $$ is worth it for my quality of vacation.
