***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Yes, I'm at a moderate (POR). My only options are highest, ground, and corner. Interesting that they are all different! I'm using the fax method (through touring plans to request more). Since my friend is traveling with me, we need to request that our rooms are adjoining or at least near each other!

We've stayed at POR twice and the second time was with a group. I sent a fax that requested that we wanted to be close to the other people we were traveling with. The fax included the reservation numbers for both rooms plus travel dates and room type. You can request close to transportation on this fax. We used the fax and got our requests. It was great.

As far as what are the best options to choose for your room, the best place to ask this question is on the POR facts thread. We've only stayed in Alligator Bayou but I think people in the Royal rooms often request a room close to the footbridge. Some request to be close to the East bus depot.

Yeah, same here. I just didn't see the value, especially with not the best fireworks view when the whole point is that it's a FIREWORKS dessert party, lol. I want to make sure I get the full effect!

You are so sweet, thank you! I would love to meet up with you guys, and anyone else who is there!

Not hard to do, lol! I went back and edited my post to clarify.

The first of my orders were delivered to my work yesterday, after I went home, so I walked into these goodies waiting for me! Not gonna lie, I'm kinda in love with the hot cocoa earrings

Love the earrings! I wish I could wear dangle earrings. Not only does the weight bother me, but my DS loves to twirl my hair (it's his soothing thing) and I'm always paranoid that he's going to yank one out in the process! The t-shirt looks great too.

For MK RD, I really want to see the welcome show but right now, my plan is in limbo because they changed the hours for Saturdays and I have a breakfast that day :sad2: The other parks, I WANT to get there early, especially for DHS AM EMH... But not sure how feasible that is. We tried to go to the aquarium before 9am on Sunday and we got there by 9:30am :scared:

I'm kind of sad that my plans do not include seeing the Welcome show at MK. Our only morning there is EMM, so we'll miss the Welcome show because we'll already be in the park having fun. My last 2 days are still flexible though and we might end up change them to another MK morning on the fly.

The struggle is real to wake up early. I would hope that with just it being DH and I that we can climb out of bed and become presentable quickly. My morning routine is pretty quick and carefree haha. And we don't like to eat as soon as we wake up, so we'll be taking something to eat while waiting outside the gates.

I remember how easy it seemed to wake up earlier than usual on a workday to make my FPs though. That excitement will be helpful while we are there. :)

That's great, thanks for the heads up! I'll do just that and make sure the fax includes the information for both of us. Out of curiosity, did you send one fax for the group, or did you send multiple faxes? I'm thinking one fax would be sufficient, but just wanting to verify what you put in. Thanks!

This topic came up on the "other" thread and as always I like the opinion of the masses. What's your strategy for RD? How early do you get to the parks before it opens? Do you have any tips and tricks to share? Or any links to something you found helpful.

What's the "other" thread? I don't know know what you mean by that.

As far as RD, we're only going early in the morning on three of our 6 days-- twice at MK, and once at Epcot. For Epcot we're doing a PPO Breakfast at Garden Grill and will be able to enter at 7:45. We'll drive to Epcot because we have our car, and shoot to be there around 7:15, so I'm sure my husband and kids won't be happy with me for getting up early. We have a planned break that afternoon before going back to Epcot so we'll get some rest.

For the MK days, one day we have a PPO BOG at 8am, and again will shoot to get there around 7:15. We'll be taking the bus to the MK, so not sure exactly what time we'll try and get on one, but sometime before 7am for sure. We also have a nap planned this day for some rest before going back to MK for dinner and Wishes. The other day has EMH starting at 8am, so we'll probably also shoot to arrive around 7:15 for that to allow time for going through security. No mid-day break for a nap that day, but we're leaving for the day after the Festival of Fantasy parade, so it won't be a super late day. We'll probably rest some that day before heading to Disney Springs for dinner.

I really should lay things out like you. Seems so understandable compared to my scatter brain comments, LOL! I have that same EPCOT PPO (but in Akershus instead of GG). Also have a napped planned for that day. :D most of my early days have naps... except for my move day from Swan to CR. That will be an early night though... I'm hoping my 2 year old will last!

EDIT: yes, that 'other' thread... hmm... LOL!

Sorry, I called it that as a joke. The "other" thread is the "Week after Turkey Day Shenanigans" thread. There's a few of us that mingle on that thread and this one because our trips span both time frames. Great bunch of people in both threads, but this one is usually a lot more active.

Yep, I'm going through TP as well. I think they send the fax around 5 days before arrival.

How did you request close to transportation on your online check-in? Mine only had options for Corner, ground floor, high floor. Are they different for different resorts?

I had the same issue when trying to request a room through TP. I didn't see where I could add "close to transportation" as an option...or a King Bed, so not sure what to do there.

I had always kind of decided SDFP was not for us, because I didn't want to buy a second set of magic bands, but I have a question for those of y'all that are pretty knowledgeable.

Theoretically, if, once we were done with MVMCP, I commandeered two of my other family's ticket cards from the party (they don't have any other tickets, just the party), could we use those for SDFP since they wouldn't be on my MDE or have any other tickets attached?

Per everything I've read...Yes, as long as they physical cards are linked to somebody (not you) in MDE, you can use them for SDFP.

Isn't a king bed something you have to book when you book the room initially? When I booked POR, it was it's own room type that you had to select at time of booking. I'm not sure if that is just how it works at POR, or everywhere. You might be able to make that request on the fax, but if it was something that you had to select at time of booking, not sure you will get it.

Yeah, each of my other 8 family members has a card linked to them on my Dad's MDE, which I have access to (because let's be real, I planned all their parts of the trip too :P)

I don't know it just hit me that I could just ask for two of their cards at the end of the party (or after we've used their fast passes for the time before the party starts).

I sent one fax. No one else is as Disney obsessed as I am so they let me handle it. ;)

You should be able to use them even before the MVMCP if you have park days before then. And there shouldn't really be any way to "accidentally" use their MVMCP ticket since it's only valid on the day you picked and plan to go to MVMCP.

My understanding with the cards is that they don't even have to be linked for them to use. We are using physical cards that my cousins purchased tat the gate last month on a spur of the moment trip. They never linked the tickets to their MDE (they don't have one!) and used them at kiosks that day for some same day fast passes. I'm planning on using them. If it doesn't work, I could always link them on the fly to a made up MDE I suppose.

I don't think that's the case with the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA...at least not according to my TA and what I've read. :)

Speaking of which...just got a call from my TA that all my travel docs and luggage tags are in and ready to be picked up!!:banana::banana:
I can't wait to drive over there and get them in my hot little hands!!

And you could get really crazy, and ask for 4 cards! Think about how fun it would be to be able to book two extra tier 1 rides at HS or Epcot on SDFP if they were available. Hahaha. We actually have my cousin's physical cards for SDFP and my friends' set of magic bands for SDFP. We won't plan on using two sets all the time, but I'm thinking at HS if I can book us all on Toy Story for a SDFP then I could book my husband on Rock n Rollercoaster with another set of SDFP. I know it's all wishful thinking because who knows what will be available that day for SDFP, but want to keep the option open!
