***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Hope your family had fun @rasadowski! I'm falling over laughing thinking of you stuffing your face with candy and becoming addicted to Etsy because that's pretty much what happens once you start! :rotfl: Did you fall in love with anything in particular? And I've been meaning to ask how are those renovations coming? :badpc: And I'm talkin' house here, not Disney plans. ;)

Must have been a zoo sorta day!! Hope your crew had a great time! It's fun randomly bumping into Disney fans when out and about. :) Did they share anything that hasn't been covered here? Hard to believe that's even a possibility! haha But you never know! Or was there anything they mentioned being particularly wow'd by? :hyper:

My hat is off to you @Mrs. Inc and @DisneyBelle27 for your time spent teaching. :worship: Years of volunteering in my kids' schools has given me a huge appreciation for the heroes teachers truly are! :teacher:

I'm feeling the urge to do a little cheer with all the great news about ADRs, transfer success, and desired FP scores!! :cheer2: I see several people got things they were looking for!! It's equally thrilling every single time it happens!! That kind of thrill just never loses its jump-for-joyness!! :tigger: Cheers to resolved IT problems, light-up necklaces, and cute t-shirts!! Wow, this weekend has been EXCITING!! Congrats to all!!
Thank you @Talby!!!
we had a great time at the zoo. There really weren't too many animals out this year for some reason! I don't know if they were put away indoors earlier this year than last. It's been so mild I thought they'd still be outside :) But, we did get to see gorillas and monkeys and lions :) it's just fun for the kids to dress up and wear their costumes as often as they can . I love that their costumes are already needing stitches and things are coming unglued even before Halloween :) I hope you had a great time with your family! The kids never seem to mind, but I'm always bummed that they give out so little "real" candy on the zoo trail. It's mostly health food bar type things and juice boxes. I think one stand gave out actual candy, and I did sneak a few from the girls bags. I know, I really am horrible. But, it was for their own good! I need to make sure they don't get sick from eating too much Halloween candy. It's my job to keep them healthy, right?:thumbsup2

and I can't believe you remember my renovations!! haha! When I read it, twice, I still thought you said "reservations." Even my 6 year old asks me if I've got all my reservations! :)
But, yes! We are done for the most part :) Our walls are open and it feels much bigger and newer in here :) We still have to paint and patch things, but that will just take a bit of time :) I"m so glad that it is over and that most of the disney planning is set. (really still waiting for Rol thought :( even though I wish I could just leave it in the dust!!!!) and I , too, was contemplating changing park days....but my reasoning has to do with MK and if it opens at 8am one day. I do have the same PPO booked now on two days, so I can easily change if I want too....that fp thing would be the only issue.....:scratchin I'm just going to have to make last minute changes I think...

@DisneyBelle27 I taught Middle School too :) I was a Spanish teacher for 6-8 grades before I stayed home once I had my daughter. There are a lot of things I miss :) It's such an awesome age group, and I definitely could not do anything lower or higher! i tried elementary and high school, and since I didn't like either, I said, "well, better be MS!!" and it was a perfect fit.
I don't think I'd go back though, unless they needed a SPanish teacher in my girls' school part time or something, then that would be fun :)

Hope you guys all have a great Monday!

It's funny because middle school was not a fun time for me when I was attending (super shy+nerd, lol), and my background was actually in elementary ed, but I really ended up loving the age group. Definitely a difficult age, but a lot of fun too. I had thought I would hate it, lol.

And Happy Halloween everyone! I am currently rocking my Halloween leggings, spider earrings, Trick-or-Treat necklace, and Halloween charm bracelet in my office today, lol. I am perfectly proud to admit that I am, and always will be, a big kid at heart! Dr.'s appt at lunch, and then I think I'm going to take the afternoon off to continue to recuperate. Will be nice to see some of the earlier trick-or-treaters for once. Anyone else have any fun Halloween festiveness today?

That sounds so cute!! I put on a costume here (avatar)! lol We have a tradition of having chili for dinner on Halloween. Started out because it was just easy for trick-or-treating when the kids were those ages, and it has stuck. Our house is decorated and we will have lots of trick-or-treaters, so we'll be passing out candy. They're so adorable!

Rest up and feel better! I'm thinking this means you're getting any and all illness out of the way now and will definitely be the picture of good health on your Disney trip! :thumbsup2

Kiddo's dad is here for the weekend and halloween and we made carnitas and margaritas last night. boy was it a rough night! lol. I only had two but I am a total lightweight with the booze haha. parked on the couch with my computer just geeking out right now.
that reminds me i have to order the "magic your bands" decals. Kiddo wants glow in the dark xmas and I want something more disney and christmasy... although they have some new glow ones and I kind of like the reindeer lol.

I know it is not traditional xmas colors but I kind of like the reindeer on purple:

kiddo requested snowmen on orange:

I think we will go with those. I need to change my SDFP band to purple though lol. I will have to make sure kiddo still wants that one now that they released 2 more.
LOVE these! Where do you get them?

Happy Halloween! Tonight we are switching it up and dh is on candy duty and I'm taking g dd around the neighborhood. And we have a sitter coming tonight as we are going to a concert after trick or treating is done (a band I used to do some work for). Luckily the venue is close by so while not ideal that it's halloween night it is rare dh and I get a date night. So taking a planning break today and will be back at it in a day or two. Big things still is crunching the numbers for the dining plan and ordering from garden grocer.

I like the way you think! That is my new mantra, a picture of good health for my trip! Lol

Thanks to both of you for the feedback. I've actually never eaten at a Signature restaurant, so really not sure what the dress code is. Comfort is definitely key for me...I can't wear heels anyway because of my knee, but I don't want to feel out of place either. I think I have a good idea of some things I can wear that would work. Honestly by that point I may not care and will wear what I want. LOL
I will tell you that dress code at signatures is probably the #2 hot topic on the restaurant board, with "catering to picky eaters" being #1. Holy crap do both get my goat, especially the picky eater thing since I have one and since it always feels to me like I am being judged for not tying my child to a chair and force feeding him broccoli or starving him until he'll eat it. My personal thing, I have seen him struggle so much to try new things that are challenging textural and taste wise and literally be sobbing because he wants to please me so much and try whatever it is but he just can't make himself that I now feel like I am the champion of every picky eater in the world and can't keep my mouth shut, lol. But I digress.

People will SAY that you should dress up for signatures but honestly, like @LBlovesM&WDW I don't really. I may try to choose a non disney tee and just a plain solid tee instead and I never wear shorts but I might wear the khaki capris I brought ANYWAY instead of the denim ones, and I think I did the flip flop thing I suggested to you (with pedicured toes lol) and just stowed them for later since they are NOT good walking shoes for someone who is overweight with high arches. But kiddo wore his space mountain shirt because he wanted to wear it while looking at it from the same view, lol

so who is gonna tell me that is not appropriate to wear at a disney restaurant? IMO anyone who is noticing what other people are wearing around them is not having a good enough time themselves. The ACTUAL rules are very loose and very common sense... nothing obscene, no swimsuits, no cutoffs (I think they mean daisy dukes, if you turn a pair of jeans into capris and roll the cuffs I think it is just fine) and no tank tops - I am pretty sure they don't mean camis for women either, they mean wifebeaters with hairy stanky arm pit hair hanging out on men. Pretty much anything remotely decent is within the rules and if you feel like dressing up any more than park wear, it is totally at your discretion. Some people LIKE to dress up and are not going to parks before and/or after and so they do and it enhances their vacation. For me it is hassle, lol. We went to MK after so we dressed ready to go :) Just don't ask about it on the restaurant boards!

:rotfl2: you're so right about those being the hottest topics there. The longest threads are those ones and even simple questions seem to lead to the stupidest comments. Oh well, those original posters need to learn to ignore it after! :confused3 I've stopped trying to make sense out of those and would read them for entertainment. I will say though, people need to learn there is no pleasing everyone!

Love that picture! I was also confused what to do about signatures... especially with footwear! I'm thinking cute sandals would work. I just hope it's warm enough. :)

was up at 4:30am thinking about my trip and wondering if now that we are coming in a day early if I should give up Sanaa for Tiffins with dinner package to see RoL on our first night. Of course it is all conjecture. I do not think kiddo would enjoy Tiffins as much as Sanaa and it's not as relaxing a night but it is also the one when we are most free early in the evening. Yes we will be at MK but could drive over to AK for Tiffins dinner too... but I think if the show is at 7 it would have to be 4:30 at the latest for dinner, which is kind of early. I was up at 4:30AM thinking about this argh. anyone else stressing about how to fit it in with no information? :-p

it will be warm enough inside! you could go "florida old man" and wear socks with them outside :rotfl2: I crack myself up

I have a night there so not too stressed about that... but I am stressed about dining times... Not sure how it will all fit with schedules... Also was wondering of giving up Yak and Yeti for a Tiffins dining package.

LOL!!! Nope, can't wear socks with flip flops! Too funny though! I was thinking about Narcoosee's and MK after. Maybe they would think up dress code for shoes after seeing that

I think I could give up Sanaa. I saw rteetz predicting 5:30 and 7 for the two show times... I'll never get there on time after CA Grill @5 if that is the case. But on my first day I could probably do a 4:30 Tiffins dinner with package and then not have to give up my MK FP+ and not get "home" too late. Tempted to book a non package and then try to package it if/when they are announced. it would be very early with my 1pm LTT though but if I just got corn fritters and ooey gooey cake and kiddo mac and cheese it would probably be light enough in advance of Tiffins, we would not get to the resort too late either. I wonder what the JB packages were like.
