***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Actually I was just checking this package... Main Street electrical parade dining package... It's available only until October at this point, nothing for November plus they don't accept the dining plan.

Edit: they sure have been holding a lot of dining packages for Dec... :( hope they would release them soon!

I'm also a single mom, although my son's dad is involved, he is long distance most of the time so it's mostly just me. I don't think my job is as good paying as yours is plus I live in a super high cost of living area, but I feel fortunate to be able to take him on nice vacations even if not as often as I'd like.

I think unless you are taking that money from somewhere else it needs to be, I'd keep it. The crowds will be bulldookie crowded that day and how amazing to go at your own pace and not worry about lines at anything. If you are feeling squeezed anywhere else then maybe not. Are you? is it at the expense of something else you want to do? It is extravagant for sure but your time is valuable and you are trying to make the best of it. JMHO of course.
I am not wealthy in the slightest bit, that's why I keep second guessing it! I won't feel "squeezed", but it's not as if I won't notice, so there are a few things that I would need to cut back on. Packing a lunch for work, and cutting out my beloved Starbucks. A new sofa that I've been drooling over at RH probably won't happen, and just in general paying attention to what something actually costs and if I could buy something on sale instead, also stopping to think- do I really need this new (insert any household item here)? and realizing that no, I do not need that item.

If I can do the above mentioned things and "find" part of the money from every day life, then I won't have buyer's remorse. Because without giving up anything I would feel it was irresponsible.
I don't know if that makes sense at all, but it's how I'm trying to rationalize it.

Oh and p.s.- I'm extremely envious of your career!!!!! Interior Design is such a passion of mine, but unfortunately I do not have the architectural background to know -if I knock this wall out will my house come crumbling down on me.lol

Booking starting today, Tony's has a lunch dining package wherein you get a reserved spot at the flagpole for MSEP. I saw other threads yesterday about it and a few awful reviews too unfortunately.

I read the reviews with a grain of salt. I've read a ton of bad reviews on Ohana breakfast too, and we had a great time with good food.

My son slept (in a stroller) thru that parade all 3 nights last time, no matter how many times I tried to wake him up! I don't know if I would cut our limited park time for this, but it's a great option for people!

Yup that's the other problem
I have with it... My son might not even sit still or might be asleep for this. Then again, he could be for F! and maybe ROL (if it's showing) too!

Weird question but... Does anyone know what type of cereal they have in resort CS? Or do they sell oatmeal? My son had only tried Cheerios so far so I'm thinking ahead...

The good (and kind of bad) things about the time of year we are going are this- 1. Less park hours. 2. Will not be hot.

Because of those 2 things I don't think kids, and adults, will be as worn out as when going in the warmer months.

At your son's age he may be sleeping, but he also may be up and mesmerized by it! The package would be a tough call though. I definitely recommend it for F!, if for nothing else than to be able to arrive just before show start instead of arriving and then just sitting.

They do sell oatmeal, and they have several types of cereal. I purchased the Horizon milk singles, single size cereals, and a box of kid zone bars before the trip and brought them in a suitcase. A lot of my friends use garden grocer to deliver milk/cereals/fruit.

Yes that is true. Everything would be a new experience for him then so I should not expect anything... For F! and possibly ROL I would go just because I would eat at those restaurants anyway. :)

you are doing it on DDP so if you don't make it it is not any out of pocket cost extra for you.

Haha not implying that you are wealthy but generally people who work a lot of hours like that do it in a job that makes it worth it. It was easier when I had two salaries at my disposal but I know I am lucky to be able to do with him what I can do!

I took him when he was 6 for the first time in 2014. We went in september and we did SO much but I had a stroller. I am hoping he doesn't poop out too badly this time but he did great with his dad back in february.... but this is why I was so keen on staying at both an epcot resort and a MK resort. I take my time and save and then spend like a drunken sailor on vacation, lol. that's why we're doing deluxe ddp - why not? not sure when we'll go again as the cruise is up next and he is only 8 once... next time we do character meals he will be older and it might not be quite as magical.

Great to know! I don't see it on the Mara breakfast menu but see it on he Contempo Cafe one. I have considered Garden Grocer but we're moving resorts three times so I am considering just buying from CS some mornings... Or maybe we would do a grocery stop and a car service just for fruit and cheese sticks...
