***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Ugh, more venting on my part. So I still haven't gotten my TA to pay my balance off. I contacted Disney guest services and was told "Your reservation was reserved through a travel agency and as such cannot be altered or accessed except by a member of that agency. Although the reservation is for your party, the agency is legally the reservation holder on your behalf." It's truly frightening that she owns my reservation. She's independent so there is no one to call. If she doesn't get her act together I may not be seeing any of you at Disney come December. Boohoo!
Fingers crossed it works out. :(

OK, I need everyone's opinion here, lol. Whining at poor @JamieOak on FB right now.

So in my incessant searching I just came up with a 5:20 at Sanaa on our arrival day. I have 6:45 booked so I grabbed that one too.

we are up a bit before 5am for the flight, landing at 10am. So say everything goes perfectly smoothly and we are at the MK somewhat before 12pm. My 3 booked FP+ are:
12:55-1:55 space mountain
1:55-2:55 7dmt
2:55-3:55 peter pan

do we:
1) keep trying for a BoG lunch around 12:30, leave the park around 5:45 for a 6:45 Sanaa ADR (I will have a car)
2) just go somewhere quick and give up on BoG... just because we don't know when we will ACTUALLY arrive and we will probably be hungry and might want to eat right away. what if we get there more like 11:30? what if we miss our ADR? and keep Sanaa 6:45 ADR
3) just eat somewhere quick and kind of light... like get the kid some corn dog nuggets at caseys on the way in, try the spicy chicken and waffle for me, maybe some milk shakes or something (we have to get our ice cream in!) right when we get there and then leave at 4:15 or so for a 5:20 Sanaa

I am planning to put kid to bed his normal time which is 8:30, maybe as late as 9, for a normal time wake up (6:00-6:30, I prefer 6:30 but he might be up earlier) for AK EMH the next day. So obviously the 5:20 dinner will work a bit better with that. our normal dinner time is 6pm but it is not normally a 3 course restaurant dinner which takes longer. Also it puts me in Sanaa during daylight hours.

OR are we going to be so excited to be at the MK that we won't want to be leaving so early at 4:15 and want to stay another hour and a half or so to play and then have dinner, relax a bit, go to bed. I would probably leave around 5:30 in that case and maybe show up for Sanaa about 6:30.

I go to put the chickens/turkeys/ducks away and take a shower and come back to all this? ;)

I really don't have much experience to give advice, but I like the idea of a less planned first day. I think it's best if you just have the Sanaa to look forward to. I personally like the sound of the earlier Sanaa so you'll have a bit of daylight and getting to bed earlier.

It's all good. thank you for the heads up. Maybe the pixie dust will blow my way again

I usually grab what I can when I see something available in my searches so I can try to transfer to someone here. If I can't, I come post it here. I'll keep you in mind if I see another 12/4 dinner.

a 6pm Sanaa would be ideal. right now i am holding 5:20 and 6:45. is right in the middle too much to ask? lol.

Ah I see. I say keep looking! There's a lot of ADR activity going on now and I think it'll keep up until our trip dates now.

I don't think Sanaa is super popular. I mean, it's during free dining so everything is booked. but the 5:20 is newly released - i've been checking for an earlier time on and off for a while to see how busy and booked it was and the only thing thing was 8:05 for a while.

I find the resort restaurants, except the most popular like Ohana and Chef Mickeys, etc, are easier to find availability. You definitely have a good chance.

I think it is pretty popular now.. I've tried searching before and had a hard time getting an ideal time too :)

i think it being the last friday of a free dining week is making it harder too.
what say you? 5:20 or 6:45? but showing up early for 6:45. We could also keep the 6:45 and leave the park a big earlier and relax in the room for a half hour before dinner.

I'd say 6:45 and get there early to see if you can get seated early. If not you could relax and take a look at the resort a little :) still try finding a earlier 6pm reservation if you can. Look at all numbers of party. I found one time I liked for a party of 6, made the reservation and changed the number of guests. Also if you plan your MK day, plan until 5pm only to give you a little leeway to get to AKL a little early. :) my two cents

Edit: I'm going by what you said about your son being ok with it when he went with your ex before. If he started feeling it by fireworks time, 6 should be ok for dinner :)

it is not unusual for him to get up at 5am (which is when I will get him up to leave by 5:30 for our flight, I will get up first and shower and then get him up) although I highly discourage it. and his normal bedtime is 8:30. So he should be fine for dinner at 6:45, and he stays up later on the weekends in general too but it takes him a couple of days staying up late to stop getting up early :rotfl:

I think I like leaving MK at 5pm. it's a good time to go. 4:15 feels a bit early. we can check into the hotel, get our room, freshen up a bit if we need to and head down around 6:30 for dinner which is also a pretty typical dinner time (I am usually late getting him and we get in around 6pm with dinner around 6:30... but sometimes 6. it's not a huge difference either way).

Sounds like a good plan! This gives you a little space if the restaurant is running a bit late as well. You'll see the animals the next day ;)

I think the key word in your post is RELAX....which ressie would make for a more relaxing schedule?

I like that changing the number of guests trick....pretty clever!

@Lisa F I think, I would grab something to eat at MK for lunch. Keep your current ADR. That way there's a little more time in MK but not over doing it either.

I'm in planning exhaustion too. Also I get a little anxious about any of us getting sick before the trip. We plan so long and the anticipation is so great I keep getting a little panicky about having to cancel.

Just want to give a shout out on here to @Lisa F for tagging me in the JBJB thread. In spite of having your own plans changing with your new early arrival and all the chain reaction changes that go along with it you STILL were thoughtful enough to remember I was waiting for the dates to be extended. I'm speechless except to say thank you very much!!!

This thread is awesome. Unbelievable how everyone looks out for one another. I feel like such a slacker sometimes. For example, I know @Lisa F is looking for BOG lunch for arrival day but can't remember which day that is or her preferred time.

@SilSprBea, what your TA is doing to you is complete BS. I cannot stand being ignored by someone I am paying for a service. On the rare occasion it happens to me I am on that person's front porch first thing in the morning when they are just stepping out their door to start their day. I understand things happen and sometimes people have emergencies. Oh your kid is sick? Your dog died? Your car needs a new transmission? No problem. I understand. But you mean to tell me that in the past 'however many days' you couldn't find 30 seconds to shoot me a text just to confirm you got my call and will follow up when things get back to normal? Unacceptable!!! I wish I knew you in 'real life'. I would be more than happy to pay a visit to said TA and, ahem, get the ball rolling for you.

@Mrs. Inc :welcome: to the best thread on the Dis!!!

@JamieOak, hope your DH gets well soon. He's gonna need that knee (well both of them actually) in a few weeks. Good to read it's just infection. As much as that sucks, I suppose it could have been worse.

At the moment I can't remember what's new with @Candycane83 so I will just say hello!!!
