Ahhh! Just got my Disney's Magical Express tags in the mail today! This just got even more real!

I'm so jealous!!! I think my TA said I wouldn't get mine until 2 weeks before we leave

Sorry this is like a week behind! We are building a new house and it was supposed to be done back in August but it's also a new subdivision and there was some delay with permits.

Honestly I am just thrilled it's before Disney. I was seriously thinking they would make our closing date on our arrival day!

Ugh I had a busy weekend. Some good, some bad. The worst was that we lost 2 turkeys to coyotes and another was injured. Luckily he seems to be doing well after being treated and we have since rearranged their nighttime shelter situation for better protection. Then we went to a close by restaurant with my parents and nieces and had the worst experience I've ever had at any eating establishment. After being there about 3 hours and still only 2 out of 3 kids got their meals and none of the adults did...the owner apologized profusely and said we didn't owe anything, they even said "keep the Groupon for your next visit" but I don't think we'll be back ever, even with a Groupon for a 3 course dinner for 4 to use. At least if we have any bad experiences on vacation, I can just say to DH "Just remember, this isn't nearly as bad as that time at Rosalee's."

On the plus side, DH is working OT this week and possibly for a few weeks. Extra $$ that is much needed! But that means I'll be doing all the chores myself and working on building the permanent poultry pens alone. I guess you can say we're both working OT. Remember how I said life is getting in the way?

I did manage to keep up with reading my favorite threads and checking for ADRs at least. I even picked up an Ohana dinner ADR that fits better into my plans, but is still not the optimum fit I'm looking for. And I picked up a couple BOG ADRs that I just happened to see while searching. Those will be up for grabs to someone soon! I need to go through and clean up my ADRs.

I enjoyed everyone else's suggestions on footwear too. This is something that I am really concerned about. I have a desk job, but DH is a carpenter and on his feet a lot. I always walk at lunchtime, but that's nothing compared to Disney. I've been trying to exercise more at home, but life keeps getting in the way lately! I plan to bring at least 2 pairs of sneakers. I just completed a "wear in" period on one new pair and started on the 2nd new pair and finding that I don't think they'll work! So I ordered another new pair last week and will switch to them when they arrive. Then I have comfortable flats that I wear to work. I would only wear these for small parts of the day I think because they are very firm. I already ordered and received my moleskin (which I didn't know about until the DIS!). I just realized that bandaids weren't on my packing list, so got that added.

My Disney store order arrived and seems I over guesstimated on sizes. Both my hoodies are way too big. This is my fear of online ordering, especially from the Etsy stores that you cannot return to. At least I can send back my Disney order. On the plus side, they sent an extra sleeping shirt that I didn't even order.... I don't think I need 3, so I'll probably send at least one back.



I have the same problem! Plus you have to check both the November and December ADR threads...



Thanks for that info! I actually didn't know it snows all night. Now I don't have to ask.

I'm sorry it's been such a rough time for you. Poor turkeys. This island is lousy with them and they are pretty mean and aggressive BUT I hate it when people are cruel... sometimes they get hit by cars crossing the street

Oh dear, I never would have thought the island would have a turkey infestation! I just came in from putting the turkeys in their pen and one of them flapped its wings and smacked me right in the lip. Nothing like a fat lip! Is there a turkey hunting season there to control the population? Fall turkey starts this Saturday for us. DH wants to keep our guys locked up for their safety, but I was thinking of what I can put on them that's orange.

Oh that's weird, I wonder why that is? I only just bought my plane tickets and set up my MDE reservation last week, I can't believe how quickly it came!

Oh dear, I never would have thought the island would have a turkey infestation! I just came in from putting the turkeys in their pen and one of them flapped its wings and smacked me right in the lip. Nothing like a fat lip! Is there a turkey hunting season there to control the population? Fall turkey starts this Saturday for us. DH wants to keep our guys locked up for their safety, but I was thinking of what I can put on them that's orange.

A nice, blaze-orange vest? lol They would look pretty silly, I bet!

Our problem bird around here is Canadian geese! Dh and I were about trapped by them one day when we needed to walk past their pond on the sidewalk. The ground on either side of the sidewalk had been recently dug up and was all muddy and we had our good tennis shoes on so we were kind of stuck on the sidewalk and boy did they not want to let us through! We even had cars driving by honking their horns to try to help us out. It was so irritating! We haven't walked over that way since and I think that was at least 2 years ago.

Ugh, we have the Canada Geese infestation by me too! It makes running by the lake near me extra fun when I'm dodging and skipping around all their poop, haha

I saw a video the other day of a toddler chasing a chicken around because the chicken took it's binky and was carrying it around. So funny!

I got my packing cubes out and did a practice run to see how much we can fit and determine what else we might need. After making a few assessments with different configurations, we decided we needed a few more cubes. Amazon to the rescue! It's my first time using the cubes but I'm already in love.

I have no idea really, I'm not so much a nature person (don't hate me. I grew up in brooklyn. I like to roast turkey and that's about all I know). They are so cute when they are chicks though and they are gorgeous when their feathers are all out. I had no idea the damn things flew up in trees to sleep, i freaked out driving by this property one day last fall and the trees were full of huge birds, I finally realized they were turkeys. People are jerks but this island is full of softies too and I usually hear about it because someone is sitting with the damn bird and blasting the driver on FB waiting for animal control to come and put the thing out of its misery when it is hit. It is a very funny little island sometimes.

I guess "pilgrim hats and loafers" is not the answer you are looking for lol

I think it's technically due by 11/4 or 11/5 since my check in date is 12/4, but still she should pay it off when I asked. She's useless, and I feel like the more I nudge the more I get ignored. I emailed her last Sunday and she responded Tuesday night. I got her on the phone Wednesday she said she'd pay it off that day. We'll it's now Monday and nothing!

Oh my gosh! I'm with Lisa - I'd be calling disney or at least calling and speaking with a manager / owner of the Agency! I used a TA and she gave my info to DME and I received tags today!
