***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I haven't used one, but I have several friends/family who rave about the kids clubs. The adults get a date night, the kids have a blast.

You may want to ask on these boards to get some more input, but from the people I know there's been nothing but good reviews!
I think back in the day kid clubs were glorified babysitting... but then the cruise ships came along and Disney really figured out KID CLUBS and ported that knowledge back to the resort clubs. if Disney can't entertain the heck out of your kids while you go and spend big $$ no one can ;)

Oh my goodness you are lucky!!!!!! It's not that I didn't like the movie...but after 3x at the theater and 300 times on dvd, I was kinda over it.

I actually did go buy a Disney infinity Elsa though, just so our elf on the shelf could "freeze" her. That was def one of my son's fave elf moments, although I did have to give some quick story about how she got in our house in the first place.lol

Anyway, son is no longer a huge frozen fan, but the ride will still be a must for us.
he LOVED big hero 6 and LOVED inside out. he is on the spectrum and watches stuff over and over and over. I kind of liked frozen, have only seen it once.

I was actually surprised that my son likes Inside Out as much as he did, but he really enjoyed it.
Big Hero 6 was another one..and the "magic shot" where Baymax is taking kiddo's place was his favorite! He thought it was hilarious.

I've been thinking if I should change my reservation for California grill brunch from my current reservation for 11:20 to 10am... I was initially thinking I should go to MK first then have a break for brunch... But I'm now thinking it might be better to just be rested and go straight for brunch and not interrupt MK touring?! What do you guys think?

I would do it first. Where are you staying again? with 11:20 you'd have to be out the gate by 11 at the very latest, but earlier so you are not rushed (Figure 10 minute walk and then time to check in etc). 2 hours is not shabby esp if the morning is kind of quiet there but then you are taking time out of your day to travel.. it is maybe a half hour each way to get from anywhere "good" in the park to the contemporary.. so you gain basically an extra hour of touring by going in early, but your brunch might feel more rushed to you.

I am just talking it out, lol. I would probably do the 10am brunch but i am not doing RD anywhere and planning to not push push push too hard, the DxDDP and 9:30 breakfasts will help with that.

Thanks @Lisa F it does make sense since we're staying at AKL. I plan to cab to CR that morning... So leave at 9am that morning to get to the 10am brunch and just start touring after... Stay until after the 3pm parade (any ideas where to watch this?) and then head to DS from CR... Makes better sense for 6:30pm dinner at STK too.. Might push that one to 6pm. :)

yes all that. I think a much more relaxing day. Now is the point in my planning when I look at my plans to do EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE and start paring back to what is reasonable and a good vacation. I think earlier brunch and then tour after is more reasonable.

now tell me what to do about my CP reservation :-p

I agree with Lisa. Eat earlier and then hit the park.

Lisa what's the pros and cons of cp reservation?

Option 1: Ohana breakfast on Tuesday disney springs/resort, Crystal Palace breakfast Thursday resort day before MVMCP and come back to resort for swim and relaxation then Ohana dinner then xmas party, BoG Lunch at 11am on Friday, our last day and only day time MK day, day after the party

Option 2a: Ohana breakfast on Tuesday disney springs/resort, Boma breakfast Thursday resort day before MVMCP and come back to resort for swim and relaxation then Ohana dinner, CP 9:30 breakfast on Friday, our last day and only day time MK day, day after the party

Option 2b: Boma breakfast on Tuesday disney springs/resort, Ohana breakfast Thursday resort day before MVMCP and come back to resort for swim and relaxation then Ohana dinner, CP 9:30 breakfast on Friday, our last day and only day time MK day, day after the party

Pros of option 1: get to do BoG for lunch. will not do BoG at all on our trip if not lunch that day, may be tired after MVMCP and leaves us ton of flexibility in the morning after (though honestly 9:30 is not a super late breakfast, we'd just have to be up by 8 and unlikely to sleep beyond that)

Pros of 2a: do Ohana (the more expensive of the breakfasts in question) during DxDDP - not staying at Poly that day but will get in the car and drive to breakfast somewhere then drive to disney springs then back to resort, character meal on the last day (CP is kind of our traditional last day meal - at least back to one trip lol), don't have two ohana meals in the same day

Pros of 2b: convenience of doing Ohana while at the Poly, character meal on the last day (CP is kind of our traditional last day meal - at least back to one trip lol), but will have two ohana meals in the same day

These are kind of my 3 options.

Has ANYONE been able to get Akershus for anything anytime Dec 1 - 10? Or do you think they haven't been loaded yet?

I was able to get it for breakfast and lunch later in the week (beyond the 6th). I ended up releasing them back.

I got it for Dec. 6 and 7. Both are late breakfast ( we are not early risers) at 10:30. I will be dropping one of them once I can see if I really can buy a discounted ticket after my 10 day ticket. Anyone know? There is a thread on this, but when I called the CM told me no.

How many in the party for Akershus that you'll be dropping?

Ok revised plans-

11/24-Fly in late Thanksgiving night. Stay at the Airport, Hilton maybe?

11/25- Drop bags at the Swan- head to Epcot. This is our VIP Premium Tour Day- and I'm seriously second guessing it at this point. Do I go for a once in a lifetime experience? Or do I trust myself to manage the crowds and save several $$$$? Candlelight Processional. Illuminations. Maybe stop at Boardwalk on way back to hotel.

11/26 Check out. Breakfast on Boardwalk. Drive to Port Canaveral. Drop off rental- shuttle to ship.

11/26-12/3 Fantasy
(Maybe the last day I will reveal the surprise post trip?, not sure of logistics yet)

12/3 (shuttle or another 1 way rental- undecided) Check in to CR. Spend day doing water sports (boat rental, no swimming) if weather allows. Head to Poly for a Dole Whip. Rest in room. Marshmallows at CR beach. Late dinner at WC. Fireworks from room. Bedtime.

12/4 Rope Drop at MK. BOG lunch at 1:20. Chef Mickey dinner at 7:40. EWP then Holiday Wishes from room.
--Will we be able to see the EWP from the balcony, or do we need to go to the beach?

12/5 HS (Rope drop for Jedi Training if we don't do the tour). Maybe hop to Epcot. Minnie's Holiday Dine 4:50pm. Hopefully will be able to switch to F! Package.

12/6. Breakfast in room. Pirate Adventure Cruise from GF. Rest. MVMCP.

12/7. Check out. Ohana breakfast 10:30am. Disney Springs after. Lunch T Rex. Fly home.

Thoughts please? Tour or no Tour? I can "spend" it without having to cut something else out that would impact our trip (besides the in room experience and parking at port), but NOT to the point where it's a drop in the bucket.
I mean seriously when I think logically- that 7 hours is the price equivalent of 4 nights TPV at CR- with hoppers, and dining plan, and flights, and a rental car.. or almost another cruise. It seems kind of crazy.lol. To anyone who has been during Thanksgiving week- will we be able to do "everything" without the guide?

I think option 1 then option 2a as a back up :) it's both relaxing n doesn't give you Ohana on the same day

Ok, I have battery against I can type longer... @Lisa F how does your son feel about BoG lunch though? I think that if he doesn't want to go back there then maybe you could just go with option 2a. I think option one is the best option in terms of convenience though and there is a variety/ change from morning buffets. :)

I love your plan @21stamps :) I think that there is a lot going on already even without the VIP experience. So my question to you is... How often do you go back? I think that for people who go pretty often, they don't mind not experiencing everything. But if it is once in a lifetime or even once in 5 years or so, I would just go for it. It is a busy time and I'm sure a guide would be great to have!

By the way, do you know what time CR has their marshmallow at the beach?
