***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Just wondering if anyone has received their luggage tags yet? Seems like they usually come pretty early, but can't remember when to expect them. I'm a little concerned as I booked through *** for the first time, and am trusting the travel agent gave them my info.

Are you talking about the Magical Express luggage tags or the regular luggage tags? We rent a car so don't know about the ME ones but the regular ones come with the MBs about 20 days before the trip.

I have been absent from this thread for such a long time now that I know I missed a lot. Real life has gotten very busy.

I'm still skeptical about this. Disney still has fast passes bookable for 12/4 for haunted mansion and I can't imagine they'd let you hook a new one if they were going to be closed. I don't know why Kenny the pirate is the only one showing this refurb extension. We will see. I removed haunted mansion from my 12/4 touring plans just in case. We will just plan on doing it 12/5 and 12/9.
We have a Haunted Mansion fp for Dec 4th and I'm not changing it. If Disney does decide to keep the ride closed during our date then they will just issue some lame fp and send an email to tell us about it.

We used a TA for this trip but I made our Magical express reservations myself through the website. We received our luggage tags months ago.

You should contact your tA and make sure you are signed up.

I'm sure that this discussion happened pages ago, but I just wanted to say that I am really bummed that they won't have the Star Wars fireworks during our Dec trip. We missed them during our October trip due to heavy rain and really hoped to see them in December. :(

I seriously don't understand Magical Express. I added the flight information for our three rooms on the same day. My brother and sister in law got their tags MONTHS ago. We got ours last month and my in laws are still waiting on theirs. My rule of thumb with my clients is that if they haven't gotten them by 3 weeks before their flight, I call Magical Express and have them resent.

I'm a little conflicted about how I feel about the change in December hours. Our day at MK is Saturday, 12/3 and the crowd predictor just keeps inching up and up so I was stressing a bit about getting everything done. But now the main site is showing an 8am opening (and a midnight closing, but our kids will not make it that long! I'm hoping they can take a late nap and make it to the fireworks at 10!!), and that means we will probably cancel our 8:20 Crystal Palace. :badpc: Took me forever to find a PPO for our group and now we can't use it! I updated our touring plans and seeing all those wait times go down and seeing how much 'extra' time we would have makes me think it's for the best though. This way the kids can ride something over if they really enjoyed it without me sweating that we won't get everything done.

Thanks peeps! I didn't realize there was a website for this, but I found it and it was quite easy! Says they mail them out 42 days prior to arrival. I had called and tried to do it, but was advised my travel agent would need to do it. If I had known I could do it myself online I would have done that from the start:)

Yikes!!! I would sleep and Uber to CR at 7 am.... That would give you a good 5 hours of sleep.

I would be :scared1: and >:( all day with no sleep.
For reals. Disney is hard enough with crowds of people, never mind on such little sleep. I'd probably be in jail for shanking people. :rotfl2:

can we all take a moment to hope they have fp+ and a show at least at 8pm? for me? pretty please?

OMG, I'm with you, girl! I need a late night show or I don't know when RoL will happen for me!

I just wanted to say that i'm sorry for all of those who were really looking forward to the star wars fireworks. For me, I am only a moderate star wars fan. I love the holidays too so I don't mind in theory a holiday fireworks show... I just did not want to disappoint kiddo with no fireworks, no dessert party after losing MSEP. My big concern with the show is that it will not be well thought out and will suck like the jungle book show. I guess we will see and even if it sucks, we will go in with appropriate expectations but I won't be cancelling due to how excited the kiddo is. A lot of ups and downs with this trip for all of us. I know it will be great but I'm sure we all at this point have something that is not quite how we wanted. I guess that is life. but this is not supposed to be life.. it's Disney! oh well :)

Lisa - I too am looking forward to see what they come up with and don't plan on canceling. I like star wars, but I LOVE the Holidays. I figure if they have holiday desserts and holiday drinks there's no way it can be bad! My only regret is that I couldn't make it on the 3rd with the rest of you!!! We'll be just arriving on ME while you all are enjoying the show:)

I cannot believe the 3rd sold out so quickly. I firmly believe that pretty much everyone who bought tickets is from the DISboards or maybe other disney sites, but this one is the biggest one. No one who is not obsessed was checking for it to open that day and a lot of people not even participating in this thread said they booked for the 3rd. it's a little insane.

I read it is going to be in the courtyard and "queue" of the great movie ride... by the queue I assume it means the front lobby with the movie memorabilia in it, so that could be cool. I remember back in the day when that ride had over an hour waits and the whole front end was filled... now with FP+ and half hour at most waits the front part is never filled and you bypass it so quickly you can't even really see the stuff, so it could be a very festive atmosphere to be sure. but whatever it is, we are in it lol.

part of me is hoping they will do an abbreviated form of the osborne lights and just throw up a ton of lights where they can. one can hope. they obviously are not calling it that but we'll see. I'm sorry you will be missing us but we'll all do the tags and hopefully run across each other at least to wave hi at some point! I'm sure given that it is my profile picture if anyone sees me+kiddo they will wave :)

I really wonder how many tickets they are selling as I agree with your assumption that most people that bought tickets are people who are on DIS, and it's really surprising it sold out.

Yep - I will be watching for you since we'll be staying at the BWI for a few days at least I think. I'll be there from the 3rd to the 9th. I know you're moving to Poly, but hopefully we'll run into each other at some point:santa:

It feels like Dec 3rd will be a really busy day at WDW. First of all it is a Saturday, which is usually a busy day, then it is a big day for Pop Warner. I've heard that a lot of teams arrive on that day. Then the most telling of all, our airfare on SWA has been high for months. If plenty of people are traveling to Orlando then there is no reason for them to offer lower rates. We'll see if my predictions pan out. ;)

We'll be staying at GF so we'll start out with lunch at MK, but later that night we'll be somewhere that is not MK. Right now the plans are to see Soarin' again at Epcot and maybe catch the Candlelight Processional from the outside. You can hear it very well and people watch at the same time while sitting by the American Pavilion.

Right now we don't have any plans to go to DHS. The only ride we like there is TSMM. I finally beat DH for only the second time in my life when we were there on October. ;) So, unless the night time Christmas thing turns out to be spectacular, we will skip that park for the first time ever.

I also am sorry for those who are bummed about the SW fireworks being put on hold during our trips. I am excited to see the new show and I hope it's not a bust like Jungle Book. But it is hard to mess up a projection show with fireworks I think. And if it does suck, we'll at least still have our DIS meetup with food and drinks. :grouphug:

I'm looking forward to it too. I'm sure you'll have fun even though you can't come on the 3rd. A lot of others on the DIS booked for other days, so you could still plan a meet up if you wanted. Holiday drinks...mmmmm! Now I'm thinking of eggnog. :drinking1

I'm also shocked that some dates are sold out already! It didn't even become bookable online yet. That is crazy to me. Oh and pssst...DH and I will be at BWV until the 4th.

For less than $200, I can switch my family to a morning flight on Saturday. That would allow us to be at Pop Century around 1:00 pm Saturday and then we could go to sleep at a more normal time and get up for EMM the next morning. We're 95% sure we're going to do that, but I'm checking with my TA first to make sure we can still get yellow DME tags.

That's a great solution! That's great you would be able to do EMM now and get more than 5 hours of sleep! ;)

we will overlap a fair amount. I'm also checking in on the 3rd (spending the night before at AKL) but won't get to resort til after JBJB because there won't be time between it and AK... and then the question will be whether to get an early night before EMH HS the next morning or go see Illuminations, lol. it although BWV is my home resort it's been 9 years since I've stayed there so maybe will just enjoy the resort a bit and get an early night. not leaving for poly til the 7th

Holiday drinks and desserts... mmmm... I'm hoping they would have the frozen Nutella still... :) hard to believe that dec 3 seems so busy... granted it's a Saturday but sold out in less than a day through the phone is insane. I wonder if it's not only the Disney sites like this but also TAs who informed their clients and got the booked right away...

I was thinking the same...it's got to be from TA's or people who follow KTP or those sites. I'm really glad I booked that day when I did!!
