***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Wait, wait, wait...

I just got an email saying my Kali River Rapids fp was no longer available and they selected dinosaur for me! What the heck? What's happening?

No...I'm not riding dinosaur.....why would they get rid of Kali? Is something happening with the ride?

People are talking about this happening with other stuff too. Like Mine Train and BTMRR. But those look like they were pre-MVMCP fastpasses, yours is the first I've seen today at AK.

I agree, it sucks that a lot of people will be disappointed. I watch SW and I mostly like it, but I'm not what's considered a big fan. I'm a bigger fan of the Christmas theme I guess.

I do have to think about which dessert party I want to book for fireworks viewing now. It's probably still worth booking the HS fireworks one, but I'm kind of tempted with the non-holiday Wishes one where you can stand in the plaza. It's sold out for the day I'd want it, but I think I might start stalking it.

Mildly disappointed, but love Christmas so I'm sure the new show will be great too! Nephew loves SW, but since he doesn't even know about the trip yet.... :smooth:

Who is going to help stalk the Christmas Dessert Party?

what do guys think? I think it's @areno79 and @Mintycake with this plan... But are you still planning to rope drop these gals? I'm thinking of maybe fp at least one. ( Elena) and then doing the other fantasyland rides after..

Dies snyone know if you fast pass the under the sea ride, do you have to skip all the cool stuff in the queue?

I was just able to book Elena on the app

I'm doing EMM on 12/4, & going to PFH at RD, mainly just for Rapunzel.

It looks like rumors about a Christmas show at HS instead of SW fireworks are true!

OK, WTH Disney?!?!?! :(:mad::furious:
My DH is going to be SO disappointed!! I've been talking up the SW fireworks so much and now it's not happening?!?! He's going to be so upset!! Also, our MK day is on 12/4. It had better be open on 12/8 for our MVMCP!!!
I'm seriously so bummed about all of this now.

I'm at a loss what to do about fast passes now.

On 12/4 I have:
Space mountain for 2
Buzz for 2
Tomorrowland speedway
Meet Ariel

12/5
Splash for 2
Big thunder for 2
Talking Mickey
7dmt

12/9
Enchanted tales with belle
Peter Pan
7dmt

I'm not sure I want to give any of these up for rapinzel or Elena. Plus we are dining with princesses at Akershus and tons for characters. I'm thinking to try and SDFP and it works great and it doesn't my kids won't know any different, right?
It depends. Rapunzel, tiana and elena don't meet anywhere else. Pfh is a must do if your kids are hung up on these particular princesses.

What's the price on that one? Not listed on the app :(
$49 for adults, not sure what the kids price is... I'm thinking about it and feel the DHS one might be more worth it though. -although it would be more expensive, it is harder to get a spot for DHS compared to illuminations. Wonder when they will release the dessert party info...

So I guess I need to figure out who this Elena chick is before our trip :) Last time we had to watch Frozen before our trip so we would know what was going on and D STILL hasn't watched Tangled even though we own it.

I agree, @Candycane83 Epcot has so many more good viewing spots compared to DHS.

I'm really bummed, too. Luckily my kids don't know we're going to WDW yet, but my DH and I were very much looking forward to this. Now we have to decide if we want to bother with the Christmas dessert party. My mom would probably like it, as would my youngest. Blargh....

ALSO - unrelated: Can someone tell me if I can make these plans work? We've never been and things got moved around when I booked my FPs. I'd like to try and get some rides in first thing before our 1st FP.

8:20 CP ADR (will try and check in early)
9:30 BTMRR
9:50 Splash
10:20 Peter Pan's Flight with FP+ (this is the end of our window)

It looks too rushed. I know the kids won't be super obsessed with having the characters come to our table at CP, but it's probably still going to take a good hour to eat, right? I'm going to have to drop one of those first two rides, aren't I? We're headed away from that area after PP. :guilty:

Well this holiday show at DHS is just throwing all kinds of wrenches in my DHS day. Unless they do second performances of the fireworks or Fantasmic, we'll have to choose, and I've seen Fantasmic like 4 times, so I'd rather see the new fireworks, especially because it has Nightmare Before Christmas stuff in it, which is my absolute favorite! That means my Fantasmic dinner package is useless, but I still want to do Minnie's Holiday Dine, so now I've got to get back out and find another H&V dinner slot that's not in the Fantasmic dinner package. :confused3

You can try @Lisa F 's trick of letting it go and rebooking it as a non f package. :) but I know it's hard to let go with being uncertain...

Looks like they are really trying to upsell the dessert party. There's a 'VIP guest' which yulilin3 is guessing would be a character- Santa goofy. Also wine available too if anyone is interested :)

I think I'm the opposite of most of you. I hadn't planned on DHS for Star Wars fireworks but this Christmas show looks neat. Hmm? Now I have to see if I can fit it in.
I'm sorry for those of you that were looking forward to Star Wars.

if you do that, cancel it by booking another ADR (ANY ADR). I have read that it forces it right back out there, then you should be able to pick it right back up. maybe have a second window open refreshing on what you are looking for so you don't have to back out of anything.

I am actually starting to be a little jazzed about this holiday show. I thought it would suck but with snow, 3d glasses and a character at the "VIP party" it seems like it could be quite nice and something very special and seasonal with such a limited run. Hurry up and make it bookable!

edited to add, you don't HAVE to go to the F! show either. Yes it is a few $$ more but I don't think enough that I'd fuss over it (what is it? $7-10 more?) I would not risk my ADR over that. What I'd do is do it and then spread a little magic to someone by giving away my F! credentials to someone who didn't do the dining.

I think I'll hold on to my existing one for now. Right now I have a 4:35pm time, so unless I find one that's more like 5:00-5:15pm, I'll just keep the one we have, or try to "un-Fantasmic" it closer to time. I do love that idea though of spreading a little magic and giving the passes away. It's very much in the Christmas spirit! :D

Wow.. I'm happy for a lot of people that are excited! But sad for a lot that I know will be very disappointed :(
I was totally prepared to be disappointed (if you saw my post yesterday) but as details are coming out I am more jazzed than disappointed. Kid loves star wars but he REALLY loves christmas. They will have snow, and 3d effects and there will be a character at the dessert party. This is shaping up to be A-ok.
Just saw that Haunted Mansion's refurb got extended so now it's from 11/28-12/5. I'm so bummed, it's one of my favorites and our trip is from 11/30-12/5 :guilty:
ugh that sucks. I had originally planned to have MK at the first half of my trip (which would have put it squarely during that time) but due to unforseen circumstances it ended up at the end of my trip. I wonder if they are doing some holiday overlay, although it is late in the season to do it.
