***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Teething is rough. I'm having a "worst mother in the world" week myself. Forgot to fill out the form and give the kid $4.15 for a recorder, so "Everyone got one" but him (I think a bunch of kids did not, he said theirs were "delayed.") Amazon to the rescue, $6.08 but worth it, will be here Monday. today while I got up at 6am to wash his swim suits (because I forgot last night) I forgot that they needed clothes to wear in the pool (his swim instructor does one lesson every couple of sessions where she has the kids wear clothes in the pool so that they know what it feels like and don't panic if they fall off a boat or something, one of the hazards of living on an island I guess) and this bothered him ALL DAY at school. As I've mentioned kiddo is on the spectrum so stuff like that really knocks him off his game for school. Work is mega stressful. i booked two possible illuminations parties so i can decide when i am in a better frame of mind but dreading telling kiddo no fireworks at HS. he would be ok with holiday, I am afraid they will be hastily thrown together and sucky. I know I am the big "everything will be amazing" advocate but having a hard time taking my own advice right now.

I "liked" your post because of your last line. I've been kinda down on this trip over the last couple days as well. Sorry for the rough week! Glad we both have Disney to look forward to (in whatever form it ends up taking). :tink:

it is going to be great, I know it. But right now I am frustrated as everyone else not knowing what they are doing with RoL and fireworks at HS. I have maintained a good attitude thus far but I think I just came here looking to get cheered up and instead it ticked me off, lol... not you guys of course... I don't believe there won't be ANY fireworks but I am dubious about how good a hastily thrown together holiday fireworks show to replace osborne lights at HS would be. and sad about loss of MSEP, and also Osborne lights whenever I think about it... I know they've been gone for a year. we're doing a LOT of great things. there is no reason to be feeling so bummed about it at all... but whenever I try to give myself the "perspective" speech about how lucky we are just to be able to go it just makes me feel worse for being so ungrateful
So sorry you are having a rough week. Just remember you are an awesome mom planning an awesome trip for your little man!!!
aw thanks :) we may have no SWaGS dessert party but at least I can throw a hell of a pity party on the disboards, lol.

Guess what I just snagged???? My elusive Chef Mickey dinner on 12/4!!! I was searching and was so disappointed that what came up tonight was a 9pm. I went up to tuck the kids in and then when I hit refresh a few minutes later, the 9pm was gone and a 6:55 one appeared!

So, quick question from you Disney veterans. How long would it take us to walk to the contemporary for this from MK? We were planning on seeing the 6:15 A Frozen Wish and then walking over. I think the frozen castle lighting is less than 10 minutes from what touring plans says. 30 minutes should be enough time right? I'm thinking so but it's been 10 years since I've set foot in the MK so just wanted to confirm my assumptions with you all!

from the gate it is 10-15 minutes depending on walking speed. 30 minutes should be fine. I think they give you a 10-15 minute grace time on your ADR too so you should be fine. WOOHOO! I needed a little good news, someone else's ADR score does the trick :)

I'm sorry to hear about your week @Lisa F :( I know it might not make you feel better... But you've got only 50 more days!!!! Actually, just shy of 49 now. You're itinerary sounds SO awesome and I always love reading it when you post changes. It'll be such a memorable time with just you and kiddo. He will be sooo happy!!

That is perfect!!!!!!! I'm very excited for you. You've been trying for that for so long! Funny how snatching up these impossible to get adrs you've been stalking for weeks will actually probably make the meal that much more special!!...like for me, the Mickey waffles would be so much better tasting at crystal palace then anywhere else! :)

Great choices!

Is it the weekend yet? My girls have had a rough day. I think DD2 is teething, on top of the little cold she has. No sleep. :(

DH has been the hero of the day, because he brought home stoferhoffer grapefruit beer! It's getting cold in the frig, and I cannot wait to open that baby. I just need to wait another hour before DD1 is in bed.

I'm also looking at getting some more t-shirts made for the girls, so they'll match. Yes, I'm *that* mom.

Ugh, sorry the teething and cold situation is happening. I hope the sickies get out of your house soon!
And please...let's not talk about matching shirts. I would make DH match me everyday if I thought I could get away with it!!

:( Sorry about the rough week. I totally get what you're saying though. I'm excited about the trip, but honestly very frustrated with Disney right now because it feels like there's a huge lack of planning happening on their part. SWGS is hugely popular; so why mess with that?!?! It's taking some of the shine off the whole thing; that's for sure. Let's hope these rumors aren't true and we can still have our SW dessert party! And well, even if they don't, we can always grab some cupcakes and watch their potentially crappy holiday fireworks show.

Oh yay!! I'm so happy you got it!! :cheer2: And during the same time and day as me :) We're leaving from MK as well and are planning on leaving MK at 6:30. :)

Thanks @rasadkowski! I've been looking for better times on this chef Mickey since august 22 when I started with an 8:30 dinner. I am so thankful I can stop looking for it. The food at BOG and Chef Mickey will taste so good- lots of hours of clicking devoted to them! Were you looking for your crystal palace breakfast for a long time?

Anyone still need ADRs? I've been searching for stuff on our spreadsheet and snagged a couple but they were no longer needed. Happy to focus on others now that I'm all set :)

Got back home from my work trip tonight!! It was a long and exhausting week and I am SO excited to sleep in my own bed! I was so happy to see my pups when I got home I wanted to cry because they were so happy to see me!!
I'm happy to be home because now I can focus on getting the rest of my trip planned. @Lisa F only 50 days left from today, so that should help get you in the spirit!! :dancer:

I'll have to look for you to say hi @areno79. We'll be checking into the podium at about the same time!

I'm looking forward to hopefully bumping into many of you during the trip. @Talby, maybe I'll bump into you at POR!

I am still bitter about my missed 5:00 H&V ADR on 12/6. We have one at 3:40 but it's just a bit too early for dinner. I know you helped me get that one; but if you see a little later ADR please give me a holler!

I'm on a mission for you now, LOL! About a week and half ago I missed an alert for a 7pm Chef Mickey and I was so bummed, but got close enough tonight. We will find you one!!

if it helps I think H&V always has a wait for seating :-p But there is still time!

woohoo! my counter says 53 lol. that thing is a piece of crap!

I'm trying to come to terms with some alternative plans but it's not going so well. In my dream plan, we were going to hit EMM on our first Tuesday so that we would have plenty of time to do more of them if we enjoyed the first one. It was also going to give dd8 the chance to try 7dmt early in our trip to see if she liked it so she would have more time to enjoy it throughout the rest of the vacation. All of that is gone now if EMM doesn't miraculously show up again for 11/29. Now, our first opportunity to do it is just 3 days before the trip is over. I guess I shouldn't be so sad over NOT getting to spend extra money. lol

Unfortunately, we have $413 left in our dva that we need to do something with. If I have it refunded, it'll go back to several of the 70 gift cards I used to fund the dva in the first place. Umm... no thanks. If I have them convert it to a gift card and send it to me, it'll take 4-6 weeks. We leave 6 weeks from Saturday so I'm not comfortable with that option. That means spending it is really our best choice. I don't want to spend it on EMM for 12/4 (Sunday) or 12/6 (Tuesday - our last park day) because EMM is refundable and I have much less confidence about our ability to get up early at the end of our trip than at the beginning of our trip (another reason we wanted the one on 11/29). So I'm leaning toward purchasing tickets to a second MVMCP instead. We'll look to book the EMM on a credit card so the refund process is easier if we need to take advantage of that. Part of me thinks we should wait to buy anything else though until we find out more information on whatever is happening (or not happening) with SW fireworks and ROL.

OMG I heart you! Such a sweet offer! Thanks, friend! :flower1:

Girl...I totally have considered showing up at 3:45 and hoping there's a wait! And yes; I've noticed your counter seems possessed. I feel like it was stuck on 91 days for like 3 weeks and kept forgetting to ask you about it! :rotfl2:
